2:36We are both in South Florida, although in different studios.

2:40Buck is at his home studio.

2:42I've got to fly out of Palm Beach here in a little bit because we

2:45were at Mar -a -Lago last night helping to emcee a charity event that raised,

2:51Buck, I was told, over $1 .3 million to back the blue.

3:07that event at the Mar -a -Lago Ballroom.

3:24Now, as if that were not enough, there is all sorts of awesomeness that is

3:30going on right now in the Iran ecosystem and everything connected to it.

3:38President Trump this morning began to post a long series of great statements here that

3:46were pretty fantastic and would suggest that there may be very good news coming sooner

3:53rather than later. Among them, Buck, that the Strait of Hormuz is basically going to

3:59be wide open. The price of oil and gas dropped $10 this morning early.

4:06Right now, as I am talking to all of you, that price $81 per barrel.

4:11To kind of put that into context, when this war started with Iran, it was

4:16just $68. So effectively, much of the price run -up almost overnight in oil and

4:24gas has vanished. That would mean, and I know you all understand this and how

4:28frustrating it is, it's amazing how quickly oil and gas prices can go up and

4:33how long it takes them to come down.

4:35But the price of oil and gas should be declining rather precipitously in the short

4:42term as we move into the rest of April and into early May.

4:48So everyone who told you that this was going to be some sort of economic

4:52cataclysm, wrong yet again. Stock market up nearly the Dow 1 ,000 points to near

4:59an all -time record high on the Dow.

5:01The S &P 500 has surged and continued to set yet more records.

5:08Stocks have never been more valuable if you have 401ks or you have individual stocks

5:13or whatever investments you might have in the stock market.

5:16And Trump is saying that Iran has agreed to give up the so -called nuclear

5:21dust and allow that to be returned.

5:24Sturbed stab to the to the united states basically what trump has put out there

5:29is nothing less than total and complete unequivocal victory buck i will bring you in

5:36i will say uh just in general that it is worth noting that there likely

5:42will be a couple of ups and downs some potential hair you know uh interesting

5:49and uh and and corkscrew moments in this but it appears based on what president

5:55trump has put out and iran to their credit said that the strait of hormuz

5:59was open that the mines have been removed basically the world war iii the economy

6:05is going to collapse people and they are who you know they they are there

6:10are a lot of them wrong yet again and we seem to be in a

6:15very optimistic space what did you think as you saw this news coming down this

6:19morning buck look if this continues as it is and i'm very upfront about this

6:27too i was only really trusting in trump on this to the degree because there's

6:32been so many just debacles and failures of previous administrations the middle east and iraq

6:39and afghanistan and syria and they just they we're like the from the leadership side

6:45from the white house side we're the gang that can't shoot straight i we just

6:48were screwing everything up bush administration disaster obama administration disaster biden's obviously an imbecile and

6:56we can't figure this out right and then trump comes along and treats it like

7:01a business transaction what do they have what do i have how do i pressure

7:05them where do we have advantages where are they weak and right now it looks

7:11like he is on the precipice of not just declaring a total victory but actually

7:18having one you know yeah it's one thing to say mission accomplished but if they

7:22agree to a deal that gives us the right to inspect and takes all the

7:26nuclear material and all this other stuff i look we're not there yet but i

7:31have to say this would be if it goes where trump is saying it is

7:36right now and he put out this on truth social the strait of hormuz is

7:40completely open and ready for business and full passage but the naval blockade will remain

7:45in full force and effect as it pertains to iran only until such time as

7:50our transaction with iran is 100 complete this process should go very quickly in that

7:55most of the points are already negotiated thank you for your attention in this matter

7:59president donald j trump if this is right if this is right and this is

8:05where this is going where trump will have pulled off the most impressive foreign policy

8:11maneuver of my lifetime i don't know i don't know what else would be in

8:16the same category of taking on an intractable and critical problem and being able to

8:22win where other administrations have failed and to do so with very minimal losses every

8:30loss every life we lose is a tragedy on our armed forces side but you

8:34know we're not we're not even in the same uh stratosphere as what we saw

8:40in iraq and afghanistan casualties to bring this about i'm i'm a little bit amazed

8:45that this has gone as far as it has in this way there's a part

8:49of me that still holds out let's see what the iranians actually agree to trump

8:52is great at selling things not necessarily finishing things let's see let's wait but the

8:59fact that they're gonna if it really is the case that iran won't call his

9:03bluff and basically blow up an oil tanker because that was always the concern if

9:10they're unwilling to do that and we can blockade them without consequence we win yes

9:16i don't see i don't see a way around that they cannot sustain no oil

9:21leaving their ports they cannot sustain that yes and the blockade didn't even take very

9:27long the price of oil and gas didn't go up very much when we announced

9:31the blockade and again as we are talking to you right now the price of

9:36oil and gas down to 81 a barrel and you say okay how does that

9:40translate well it was 68 when the war began uh back in february and you

9:47were paying around again i always love it you were paying around three dollars a

9:52gallon for your gas nationwide on average i know those of you in california are

9:56screwed but in on average i would think you've already seen oil and gas prices

10:02basically stop going up they are going to start to back up again and i

10:07would think in early to mid may you're going to be talking about three dollar

10:12and twenty cents a gallon oil and gas at this point in time which is

10:16pretty doggone cheap um and then again people say okay uh what about during the

10:22summer driving season it'll go up traditionally goes up a little bit and then i

10:27think and again this is the midterm uh voting cycle coming up i think by

10:32september and october you're going to see sub three dollar a gallon per average gas

10:37prices so gas prices are going to come back to where they were maybe even

10:41come down a bit more because if all of these agreements are correct then iran's

10:47ability to curtail oil and gas production or oil and gas transit is even you're

10:52right you're right you're right you're right you're right you're right you're right you're right

10:52time. more eliminated. And there's a possibility, Buck, that we're actually, I still find this

10:58to be maybe the most difficult aspect of the negotiation, is to actually get the

11:04so -called nuclear dust into American possession.

11:07But I tweeted kind of a joke, but I could also see it happening that

11:12Trump just comes out to a press conference one day, and he's got all of

11:18the Iranian nuclear elements, the nuclear dust, sort of arrayed in front of him like

11:25they have done in the past.

11:28And he just says, hey, unlike with the weapons of mass destruction, here was Iran's

11:32attempt, and we have now seized it, and it is in U .S.

11:36possession. And I don't see how you could talk, if all this ends up happening,

11:40how this is anything other than a complete and total victory.

11:46Now, some people are going to say, well, there wasn't regime change.

11:49Buck, I think it's fair to say if Iran is negotiating to give the United

11:54States what Trump has said that they are giving, that's a pretty significant change in

12:00the regime and what they are willing to do or able to do compared to

12:06what the Ayatollah had done for 40 some odd years.

12:09So it may be the case that there are still religious fundamentalists ostensibly in charge

12:14of Iran, but they have been neutered on an epic scale if they are basically

12:18willing to agree with everything out there.

12:23Trump took their key leverage point, and this is the Trump jujitsu that I didn't

12:30see coming, quite honestly. And he just said, oh, you're going to shut down the

12:34strait? No, we're going to shut down the strait for you.

12:38And I had not even heard, was this even being discussed before Trump came along

12:42as something to do with Iran?

12:44I suggested it. It's brilliant.

12:46I'm just going to admit this.

12:46This is brilliant. People ripped me to shreds when I suggested it on social media

12:52last week. But the reason why he had to do it, Buck, was because everybody

12:57in the media was saying Iran controls the strait.

13:01And you and I pointed out, well, do terrorists control things?

13:04I mean, they're threatening to blow it up.

13:05I said they took it hostage.

13:07And Trump, they took the strait hostage.

13:09They didn't control it. But if you're not willing to shoot the hostage, you're not

13:13really a hostage taker. Right.

13:14And Trump said, I don't think you'll do it.

13:17Yeah, I was the part of this where I was surprised they wouldn't do it.

13:21And as a result, again, the economy is soaring.

13:25All the people that told you World War three was coming or that you're going

13:28to be paying eight dollars a gallon for gas and the economy was going to

13:32collapse and all these things, they were wrong again.

13:34And I do think at some point in time, if you're listening to some of

13:37these people, you have to sit back and say, wait a minute, are they ever

13:40right? That they are constantly telling me that catastrophe is going to befall us.

13:46And we should also mention out, by the way, that Trump said, hey, Israel is

13:50not going to be attacking Lebanon.

13:52Why is that significant? I mean, it was always obvious to you and me and

13:56anybody with a functional brain.

13:57But one of the criticisms during this Iran maneuver was, oh, Trump is only doing

14:03this because of Israel and they control him, which is funny only because to me

14:09they've been trying to tell you that Trump was a Nazi, that he was modern

14:12day Hitler for the last decade.

14:14And now suddenly he's such a great ally of Israel that he can't even make

14:19his own decisions. The reality is Israel is a country of nine or 10 million

14:23people. We are the straw that stirs the drink of basically anything going on in

14:28the larger economic situation. Trump was not being led by Israel and being told what

14:35to do. And now he is basically letting it be known that Israel is not

14:40to strike Lebanon and that he wants to bring peace to Israel and Lebanon.

14:44He just had Marco Rubio meeting with them at the White House.

14:47So again, there's still some details to be ironed out.

14:50We still have to see exactly how it plays out.

14:52I've said it from the get go.

14:53The traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, when we start seeing 20, 30, 40 ships

14:59going through comfortably, you will recognize that things are 100 percent back to normal.

15:05But things are pretty close to being back to normal, except we have neutered the

15:09Iranian regime. And we did to Iran, it appears, Buck, what Bill Clinton should have

15:14done to North Korea back in the 90s.

15:17Between this and Venezuela, and I don't think anyone's looking at Cuba now and assuming

15:22Trump doesn't have something up his sleeve for that, too.

15:25He could be the most transformational foreign policy president of our lifetime in a good

15:31way, not in a creating catastrophe and quagmires and mess, the opposite, fixing problems that

15:37other administrations were completely incapable of addressing and understanding.

15:44So I hope this continues.

15:47You know me, I'm cautious.

15:48But now I'm cautiously optimistic.

15:50Before I was like, I don't know.

15:51You're joining me on the optimism train?

15:53I mean, given what's going on right now, you have to be optimistic.

15:56I mean, I think the deal, I think the Iranians are going to start to

16:00wriggle on the hook, if you will, about the deal.

16:03And that's going to continue.

16:05And there's going to be an extension of, but if we can blockade them, and

16:09that's just the situation, their bank accounts are going to run dry.

16:13And that government is going to be in a world of hurt.

16:15And they don't have any option.

16:16There's nothing they can do.

16:18We will continue to who updates you on this.

21:36So you know, Trump was in Vegas.

21:38Vegas, baby. Vegas. I feel like no one watches Swingers anymore, but that was a

21:44fun movie in its time.

21:53But anyway, Vince Vaughn, I believe, is a right -of -center fellow, so that's always

21:57nice. I think that's correct.

21:59So Trump was in Vegas, and he just laid this out.

22:02This is cut two. He's talking about the Iran war situation, and here's what he

22:06just basically says. This is like a perfect position for us to be in.

22:09Play it. I will say the war in Iran is going along swimmingly.

22:13We can do whatever we want.

22:17And it should be ending pretty soon.

22:20It was perfect. I mean, it's perfect.

22:22It was the power we have, our military.

22:25We have the most powerful military anywhere in the world.

22:27I built it four years, my first four years.

22:33At this point, Trump is known for a little bit of braggadocio, bravado, perhaps a

22:40little overselling sometimes. But from what we're seeing right now, I think it all tracks.

22:47I think it lines up.

22:49He's found a way. And how much of this is really, Clay, you think that

22:54the defanging of Iran, which Marco Rubio had been using that term, so that their

22:59military is far less capable, and then saying, we're controlling the strait, you're not controlling

23:06the strait. That one -two punch may have been the key to unlocking the situation.

23:12Yeah. And look, I think if Iran had not threatened, the craziest thing about this

23:19from my perspective, Buck, all along, was that Iran was continuing to load oil and

23:24gas and sell it, even as we were bombing them.

23:27And so we had allowed their oil and gas infrastructure to continue to exist, and

23:33not only to exist, for them to be making a lot of money.

23:35And one of the stories that, again, did not get a lot of attention is,

23:39as soon as we blockaded the strait of Hormuz, Iran doesn't have that much storage

23:44capacity for oil and gas.

23:46So if they can't get that oil and gas onto tankers and get it out

23:51of Iran, then they have to stop pumping.

23:53And so the entire Iranian economy would collapse very quickly, within about 10 days, if

24:00they couldn't sell oil and gas.

24:02And they only went about two or three days, and then they really were begging

24:07for peace. So we'll see exactly the details, but it does seem pretty fantastic, the

24:13start of today so far.

24:16But, Clay, so far your optimism has been richly rewarded.

24:19I give you full credit for your optimism.

24:27A ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, though it's really Hezbollah, does exist, but it's fragile.

24:32And anyone who's been in harm's way, yes, they have a moment to exhale here,

24:36but there are innocent people involved, lots of them.

24:39And there are many Israelis living in northern Israel who are still in a very

25:24Again, just to reiterate, oil and gas down to $81 a barrel, $68 when the

25:52Um, and, uh, we've got a large variety of reactions pouring in.

25:58But, Buck, in addition to all the optimism, I think I teased this last week.

26:04I'm already thinking about my spectacular, delectable, delicious steak.

26:10Kamala Harris is 100. I'm like, we don't have an Iran steak.

26:15Let's not get crazy here.

26:16We're talking Kamala now? Yeah, Kamala, I meant to play this.

26:20I don't even remember. Did this come out?

26:21I think there's been so much news.

26:23I've had the guys rolling this over for multiple days.

26:26And I just wanted to make sure that I got it today.

26:29Since it's such a celebratory day, I want all of you to think about how

26:32great that steak's going to taste.

26:34Uh, do we have the audio of the initial bet on whether Kamala would run

26:39or not? If we can get that, I know producer Greg tracked that down a

26:42while ago, but all of the, uh, 2028 presidential contenders are traipsing through last Friday.

26:50They were talking with Al Sharpton, which is the fact that Al Sharpton is a,

26:55uh, power broker in the Democrat party kind of tells you everything.

26:58Uh, but Kamala was directly asked whether she would run.

27:02And this is what she said.

27:04So are you going to run again in 28?

27:12So, okay. Okay. And I'll, uh.

27:15I tried to be subtle, but I just figured I'd go right out.

27:18That's as subtle as Reverend Al Sharpton could ever be.

27:23We love you for many things, but not being subtle.

27:29Listen, I might. I might.

27:32I'm thinking about it. Okay.

27:35Buck, have you altered your opinion?

27:38Because back in, what was this?

27:41July of last year? July of last year.

27:45July of 25. This was what prompted the stake bet on Kamala.

27:51Listen. Do you believe that she will run in 2028?

27:55Or do you think this is effectively Kamala Harris waving the proverbial white flag and

28:02letting it be known that she is no longer going to be involved in serious

28:08politics? You know what I've said all along, Clay?

28:11I am a firm believer in Kamala Harris is on her way to a chancellorship

28:18or some other quasi ceremonial overpaid role at a UC school, University of California school,

28:28or something like that. I actually disagree.

28:31I think she's going to run.

28:32I think she will run in 2028.

28:35You got a stake bet?

28:37Let me, yes. Stake bet on Kamala's future.

28:41All right. Buck, now. You know what's going to be so annoying about this?

28:45I need to go. What's going to be so annoying about this is he's like

28:50a card sharp, this guy, too.

28:52He gets to be like mid -rent.

28:53He's all fired up. That's my defense here.

28:55You're the one who threw out the stake bet.

28:57I didn't remember who had made the suggestion.

29:00I must have been in a mood that day.

29:01That was crazy talk. No, but I'll say this.

29:04I'm going to be right.

29:06She will not win. She will not be the nominee.

29:09She has no chance whatsoever and will end up at a UC school as a

29:14chancellor. I'm telling you, like, they're going to put her in some or, you know,

29:18some, like, woman's foundation that's attached to UC San Diego.

29:22Yeah, whatever. They'll find some perch for her.

29:26But you'll probably win the stake bet because I think she has nothing else going

29:29on because she has no kids and she has no family and she, you know,

29:33that she's going to raise.

29:34And so, like, what else is she going to do?

29:37That's been my thesis all along.

29:39Now, but can I just say she's a joke and she's going to get smoked

29:42and Gavin Newsom is going to crush her, I think.

29:44But you don't agree with that.

29:45You know, you think she's going to you think that she can beat the Newsom

29:50machine, which I will say, can I just have a moment here for you guys?

29:54So Gavin Newsom's book came out like a couple of days after mine.

29:58And initially, my book in release was absolutely smoking his book like his book was

30:03a joke. And then Clay, all of a sudden, like a week after it had

30:08been out, it was number two of all books.

30:10But and the New York Times had the little dagger next to it, which means

30:14bulk buy. And now it has come out that one of Gavin Newsom's packs bought

30:20over a million dollars of his dumbass memoir just to make it seem like someone

30:26was buying Gavin Newsom's book.

30:28It's like a self buy, basically, like he sat there and had someone else pay

30:33for a million dollars worth of his books, which is probably 30 ,000 copies, something

30:39like that. And no one's actually going to read this piece of trash.

30:43But it's clearly meant to get him ready for a presidential run.

30:46You got to have a book.

30:48One point five million dollars his pack spent.

30:52I believe it was bought to buy over 60 ,000 copies.

30:56And they probably got a bulk, you know, they got a bulk.

30:58Yeah. But if you gave a dollar to Gavin Newsom, they gave you a book.

31:04That was the way that they set it up.

31:06So I think it was this is just so unfair, too, because because I got

31:10I got to sit back here.

31:11You were worried Kamala was actually going to be Trump at one point during the

31:14twenty twenty four election. You were worried.

31:16I was in my secret bunker and I'm like, Clay, not only is Kamala going

31:21to get smoked, she's going to Trump is going to win by more than he's

31:23ever won before. And somehow I didn't sucker you into a steak bet on that

31:27one. And that call came out totally, totally.

31:30He's just he's a better poker player.

31:32He knows when to put the chips on the table with these things because we're

31:36right. And also, we're one for one on steak bets, to be clear, one for

31:40one. And I think he's a probably unfortunately about to go up to one.

31:44I mean, Kamala is so horrible, dude.

31:46She's so but this thing, I knew she was horrible in twenty four.

31:49She got absolutely smoked in every swing state.

31:51She's going to run again because she's going to be so much better up against

31:55Rubio or Vance. I just don't see it.

31:57So I think that she is going to has a good chance to be the

32:01nominee. And I made this bet with I was out to dinner with some of

32:06our musicians. I don't know what a double or nothing would be on this kind

32:10of a situation, but this is interesting.

32:12I don't know that I said I don't know that I said this on the

32:14on the radio. We were out there, six of us out to dinner in L

32:19.A. a couple of months ago.

32:21I won't name all the guys, but, you know, a lot of the a lot

32:24of media people. And I was the only one who thought that Kamala would be

32:30the nominee. And all five of them thought that I was crazy and bet me

32:35that she would not be the nominee.

32:37So I took on five every other member of our dinner party.

32:42They said. She's not going to be the nominee.

32:44This is a story that I feel like I'm the only one talking about, but

32:48is going to be hugely impactful.

32:51And it's going to come up very, very soon.

32:54Where is the Democrat primary season going to start?

33:00Everybody just kind of didn't pay attention because Biden didn't have opposition.

33:04But Biden's team rigged it so that Iowa and New Hampshire came after South Carolina

33:11because nobody in Iowa and New Hampshire likes Biden.

33:14Every presidential campaign he's ever run, they've seen through him, and they haven't supported him.

33:18He got crushed even in 2020 in those states.

33:21So in 2024, they slanted it so that South Carolina, where Biden had James Clyburn

33:27support and was going to get all the black support, started, okay?

33:30What state's going to be first in 28?

33:33Because if it's South Carolina, if it's Georgia, if it's Tennessee, if it's any of

33:38the southern states which have substantial black populations, Kamala's going to be the nominee.

33:43If it is Iowa or New Hampshire, largely white states that love Mayor Pete, I

33:50mean, that's honestly, I would put Mayor Pete at the top of Iowa, New Hampshire,

33:55because they love the gay white guy storyline there.

33:59Black guys won't vote for Mayor Pete.

34:02And Gavin Newsom and also Buck, can they get AOC to run?

34:06Can they get another black woman to try to kneecap Kamala?

34:10Because Kamala's black women support is huge, and I think it could propel her to

34:17the nomination. Here's another crazy thing for you to think about, Buck.

34:20What if Kamala went full Trump and said she wasn't going to debate because people

34:26had already seen her debate, and she's already proven she could do the job?

34:33I don't think that's, see, I think your idea that she's going to win the

34:36nomination is crazy, but I don't think it's crazy, and we have to now mark

34:40this. These aren't bets, but we just have to see where we end up on

34:42all this. I do think it's crazy that she would be the nominee.

34:46I don't think it's crazy, though, if she were the nominee, that she would pull

34:50something like that. Remember, there was a moment in time in 24 where the plan

34:55was don't even have her do any media, and then the pressure got too much,

35:00and then they changed course, and then she was disastrous in the media.

35:06So that's what I'm saying.

35:07I think she could make a decision.

35:10Trump didn't debate in 2024.

35:12He said, I'm president. People already know what I think, and it ended up working

35:15out really well for him because I think if he had debated Buck, then a

35:20lot of people would have roughed him up, and maybe you get some sort of

35:24pivot in the direction of the campaign.

35:27Maybe it wouldn't have mattered anyway because Trump is pretty good as a debater, but

35:31he decided not to do it, and there were no consequences.

35:34If you're Kamala Harris, and you've already been senator, and you've already been vice president,

35:39and you've already run for president, I think she could make an argument that people

35:44know what she thinks. She doesn't need to get on the debate stage, and she's

35:48going to do her campaign without doing it, which I think would be beneficial to

35:51her because the reality is the more people see of Kamala, the less they like

35:57her. So she's going to be in sort of the Biden basement campaign style for

36:032028, but I think there's no doubt that she's going to run, and I think

36:07part of it is she just has nothing else in her life that is any

36:12way fulfilling, and she has to do it.

36:15And she's been on this book tour forever, the book that you read.

36:18Thank you. And she's had great audience.

36:20This is a little embarrassing for me because I'm our chief Kamalologist.

36:24Yes. Because I read her book, and I would not be having read her terrible

36:28book, which at least she didn't have a pack by a million dollars of it.

36:32That we know of. Maybe this is standard, and we just don't usually become aware

36:36that you've got all these politicians buying huge amounts of their books.

36:42That would not stun me, actually.

36:43I don't think Gavin Newsom did something in the political world that's without precedent.

36:48My guess is it probably didn't sell like he wanted it to sell, and so

36:52they were like, okay, let's just go ahead and call in the Calvary.

36:55We'll buy 65 ,000 copies.

36:57I also think that there's not really another.

37:01You're right. Now I'm just going to be fair to you instead of trying to

37:06just poke at your theory.

37:07You're right that she is going to fill a lane, which is a Democrat minority

37:14candidate that really is emptier than it has been for a long time.

37:21Now I know AOC is Latina, and that formerly like Sandy Cortez.

37:31Yes, but now she's Alexander Ocasio -Ortez.

37:36But I do think, though, Kamala, do you think she's going to come out and

37:42even lean more into her minority identity this time around than last time?

37:49That would seem to be the play, right?

37:51That would seem to be the move for her.

37:53All she has is identity politics.

37:55That's why I think, look, the DNC wants to rig this thing.

37:58If they could persuade AOC to run, the problem they got, Buck, is Cory Booker

38:03is like a non -factor.

38:05Remember when they tried to be like, Cory Booker's the next Obama, I am Spartacus.

38:09He's like the least Spartacus.

38:10guy ever i mean spartacus was a badass uh so yeah no that's so cory

38:14booker isn't going to take away the black vote um the governor of uh of

38:19maryland west moore that a lot of people had fond hopes for seems to be

38:25floundering you know he can't get that baltimore bridge rebuilt the one that got hit

38:28by the by the boat like he's been it's not water yeah they've tried they've

38:34tried to push some other minority you know minority hopefuls on the democrat side forward

38:39and it's not none of them have really caught on uh with with the public

38:43with the voters with the democrat base and your point about if south carolina is

38:48first and or early kamala is actually in a really good spot i mean that

38:55is that is true that is true i mean you are you are that you

38:59should mark down that i'm agreeing with him that if south carolina is early that

39:03is a big even talking about the dnc which has put it you know they

39:07rigged the game against bernie they rigged it for biden basically uh once they decided

39:12he was the guy which states they let go first is going to be huge

39:18in telling you what are they putting the scale who who are they putting the

39:22fingers on the scale for and nobody is talking about this which is why i

39:27also think if kamala wins i think like i think like minnesota will be in

39:31play like i think there'll be states in play for republicans that we haven't had

39:35a real shot at in quite some time well i think economy is good a

39:39hundred percent i think she's an awful candidate but i think she's going to be

44:48A couple things for you.

44:49Some updates here on some stories.

44:52First off, you have a bunch of you saying that my optimism on this is

44:57coming late. Like a lot of talkbacks on that.

44:59No, I agree with that.

45:02You're not telling me anything I don't know.

45:04I'm amazed at how Trump was able to flip this whole thing because without the

45:08choke point of Hormuz, then Iran does have nothing.

45:11And so he basically looked at them and said, a lot of other administrations would

45:14have said, we can't take the risk.

45:16Iran might blow up. And this has been the – look, guys, going back a

45:20ways, I've seen a lot of this analysis in my life, right?

45:22So, oh, my gosh, they'll blow up an oil tanker.

45:25And then what happens? But keep in mind, they haven't given up these final concessions

45:31yet. Trump is saying they will.

45:33We'll see. We'll see about that.

45:37The strait is open, but the strait was open before.

45:39The final concessions on the nuclear program, that's where we still will see.

45:43But I am optimistic because the strait situation has gotten a lot better.

45:47So, I mean, I can play a bunch of people and be like, oh, you

45:49weren't optimistic. We go, yeah, guys, it's a war, okay?

45:52I've seen what happens when they go bad.

45:54I've been there. It's not good.

45:56You don't want to be anywhere around that situation.

45:58Trump is just better at this than both Democrat and Republican administrations coming before him

46:04for my whole life, I think.

46:06He's just a more sound thinker, Clay.

46:09So we can play some of these talkbacks, but any of you who are sending

46:12it in saying Clay's optimism was well -founded?

46:15Right now, yes, that looks to be the case.

46:18We'll see where the nuclear deal actually goes.

46:20But I will freely concede that Clay was like, we're just kicking ass, and we

46:24got him. And I was like, I'm worried.

46:26And Clay's like, don't be worried.

46:28Don't be a wimp about it.

46:29I'm like, I don't know, war, peace, this is it.

46:32Looks like Trump maybe got him.

46:33So checkmate. We'll see if that's where he's got the Iranians.
