2:02And Tommy's like, I don't want to get in the middle of that shit.

2:08So he winds up hitting, you know, him up and like, look, dude, you know,

2:46And, of course, they go to a different room.

2:50They do go to a room, kick a door in.

4:18I go, he goes, I'm going to move you out.

5:32So they call Kid Rock's people, supposedly, and offer this fucking fight on pay -per

5:38-view. And Kid Rock's people wound up calling back and basically turning it down, saying

5:44whoever loses is ruined for, you know, for life, I guess, because looking like a

5:49bitch, because they both have the rock and roll, tough guy, you know, image thing.

5:53So that's literally, he said that, did he say that in print?

2:01:01That was my first instructor, but he was not an easy guy to, he never

2:01:06let you get too close.

2:01:07I bought all the tapes.

2:01:09I learned jiu -jitsu from Craig Kukukuk.

2:01:12I learned a mountain escape from those tapes.

2:01:13It worked one day. I was like, oh shit, it worked.

2:01:15He was a very good teacher.

2:01:17I was with him for two years.

2:01:18I had 30 years, too.

2:01:19Before Henzo came over. He was an early Brazilian jiu -jitsu black belt.

2:01:22He was a black belt in the early 90s, right?

2:01:24Like the Steve Maxwell era.

2:01:25He was one of the earliest ones, too.

2:01:26I found out about him through the Gracie newsletter that I was applied to at

2:01:30like 17. I used to get that.

2:01:32Because when you buy the tapes, you get a newsletter.

2:01:34And one newsletter, it was like every few months, it was announcing the first American

2:01:38black belt. And then like two newsletters later, they disowned them.

2:01:43They had a business. But I'm like, but then I found out through Black Belt

2:01:46Magazine that he was teaching in the village one day a week in the city.

2:01:49I go, all right. They might have disowned them, but they couldn't take away his

2:01:52skill set. There was no place to learn on the East Coast except for Maxwell

2:01:56in Philly. So that's how I found Kukuk.

2:01:58And then he partnered up with Henzo, and then I went with Henzo when they

2:02:02broke up, obviously. Why did they break up?

2:02:06I remember Henzo took me out to eat one time, and he's like, look.

2:02:10And I always got along with Henzo so much better right off the bat.

2:02:15Like Henzo was just so warm and great.

2:02:17And he invited me over to his house, and he was just such a—and Craig

2:02:20was always kind of a wall.

2:02:22He was a big German guy, just hmm.

2:02:25But I remember one time he told me, like, look, something with the business where

2:02:28he wasn't—feel like he was being treated fairly.

2:02:30I'll just leave it like that.

2:02:31And then he goes, look.

2:02:33He goes, if you—no one likes Craig.

2:02:35He goes, if you go with him and me, he goes, people will go with

2:02:39him because of you, because they like you.

2:02:42But I want you to come with me.

2:02:43I go, look. I go, Henzo.

2:02:44And at first, I'm like, is any—you know, I was a young kid.

2:02:47I didn't know. I go, is there any way you guys could make up?

2:02:49He goes, man, if it was Brazil, he'd be already dead.

2:02:52I go, all right. Okay, Henzo.

2:02:55All right. I get you.

2:02:56So much for that. So I went with Henzo, and Craig kind of left him.

2:03:04So, Matt, where are you in the pecking order in terms of American black belts
