0:58Pope Leo XIV is absolutely furious at Donald Trump and his despicable regime.
1:05Pope Leo XIV has formally rejected any involvement by himself and the Vatican in Trump's
1:13so -called Board of Peace, which Pope Leo XIV has labelled a colonialist operation, saying,
1:21no thank you, I don't want to be anywhere near that.
1:24In addition, the Vatican has now confirmed that Pope Leo XIV officially rejected the invite
1:33to show up at America's 250th day celebration on July 4th, back in May, when
1:39J .D. Vance showed up to the Vatican and presented a formal invitation to Pope
1:44Leo XIV. He rejected it to J .D.
1:48Vance's face. And this past week, the Vatican leaked out that Pope Leo XIV said,
1:53absolutely no way, I'm not going.
1:55He put the invitation aside and just said, I'm not going to be doing that.
2:00In fact, this week, we learned what Pope Leo XIV is doing.
2:04Hat tip to Christopher Hale, who does a great job on his substack and elsewhere,
2:09reporting on the Vatican and what's happening in the Catholic Church, and especially as it
2:14asserts itself against Donald Trump and its regime.
2:17But Pope Leo XIV has announced that he will be spending the July 4th day
2:22on the island of Lampedusa, a migrant gateway in the Mediterranean.
2:29This is sending a powerful message because this remote island is kind of ground zero
2:36in what people consider the European migration issues.
2:40And he's saying that I'm going to be spending my time with migrants and individuals
2:44there and showing that, you know, we are one world and we are one people.
2:50And he said, also announced as well, that there will be no plans to show
2:56up at all in the United States in 2026.
2:59I mean, he previously appeared in Chicago via, you know, at the baseball stadium there,
3:08but did not actually attend.
3:10And he has his Cardinal Kupic over there.
3:13And one of the developments that has been happening as well, and Pope Leo XIV
3:18has been rallying the cardinals and the bishops and the clergy in general to fight
3:26back against Trump and its regime.
3:28Remember, Donald Trump has, they were planning on banding Ash Wednesday services.
3:34They have tried to ban religious rights or any type of religious services at the
3:41detention centers. You have the detention center Broadview in the Chicago area, for example, had
3:48prohibited any type of, you know, Catholic priests or any religious clergy at all from
3:55showing up there. There had to be a lawsuit that was filed recently in federal
4:00court in Chicago, where a federal judge said, hey, you know, there's a free exercise
4:06clause in the Constitution. And there's also a free speech clause in the Constitution.
4:11And the government is infringing upon the rights of the migrants who are being detained
4:17in these concentration camps in the United States from receiving any type of visits from
4:24religious leaders, from religious leaders, you know, being there and supporting them at all.
4:29And an emergency order was made to allow on Ash Wednesday for there to be
4:37ceremonies outside of the Broadview facility.
4:40And at first, it seemed like the Trump regime was not going to follow the
4:45court orders. But then ultimately, the court orders were followed.
4:50And here's how it's being reported by Christopher Hale.
4:55In his Ash Wednesday homily, Pope Leo XIV warned that the world is ablaze, not
5:00just with war, but with the collapse of law, ecology and the sacred.
5:04The Pope argued lent a time not just for penance, but for rebuilding.
5:07He called for faithful not to be rigid and complacent.
5:10But all but also. so open to moving and changing um this is uh this
5:16is uh reporting from christopher harrell right before ash wednesday it appeared there's a chance
5:22that the trump vance white house was going to defy a federal court order to
5:26allow pope leo's top ally chicago cardinal kupich and catholic clergy to enter the chicago
5:33area ice facility for ash wednesday mass this would be a historic confrontation between the
5:38american government and the catholic church and again this also comes on a week where
5:43we learn from the epstein files how steve bannon was working with jeffrey epstein in
5:49order to uh try to take down uh pope francis uh and we know that
5:55uh steve bannon was also trying to take down pope leo the 14th we've seen
6:00him on pierce morgan and other shows uh when he was cardinal prevost uh you
6:06before he became the pope you had bannon and bannon's crew also trying to take
6:11down pope leo the 14th before he became pope leo the 14th i want to
6:15go through some receipts with you uh right here as well um so first i
6:21want to show you over here earlier uh this past week where caroline levitt accused
6:27pope leo the 14th of being a quote partisan political and controversial individual because pope
6:35leo the 14th uh through his spokespeople said that uh the vatican pope will not
6:41join the board of peace they called it a pay -to -play colonialist operation here's
6:47what caroline levitt had to say let's play this clip right here the vatican announced
6:51earlier today that they would not be joining the board of peace initiatives over concerns
6:56that it could potentially compete with the united nations over handling crisis conflicts what's the
7:02white house's response to that yeah look we saw that i think it's deeply unfortunate
7:06uh i don't think that peace should be partisan or political or controversial uh and
7:12of course the administration wants all those who were invited to join the board of
7:17peace to join because again the board of peace is overseeing the reconstruction of a
7:21territory that has been plagued with violence with bloodshed with poverty for far too long
7:27and this president has a very bold and ambitious plan and vision to rebuild and
7:31reconstruct gaza which is well underway because of the board of peace this is a
7:36a legitimate organization where there are tens of of member countries from around the world

9:21cardinal he's now in cardinal emeritus uh from the new york uh area uh timothy
9:27dolan who to me came off kind of very maga very very right wing as
9:32well um here's what he discussed this past week again great reporting by christopher hale
9:38here vice president jd vance had to privately apologize to cardinal timothy dolan for falsely
9:45claiming that catholic bishops oppose immigration enforcement because they profit from migrant resettlement programs vance
9:53who made the accusation during a televised interview last year told dolan the statement was
9:58out of line and not true according to the cardinal in the same interview dolan
10:03condemned the trump vance administration's decision to conduct immigration raids near churches calling the practice
10:10harassment and a profound violation of religious liberty here's where carlin cardinal dolan accused the
10:18trump vance of targeting harassing and going into catholic parishes and again this is an
10:22extraordinary statement coming from cardinal dolan right here here play this clip uh franklin graham
10:28who's not a catholic and i were very worried when i started uh going into
10:34churches and harassing churches so we had here in the archdiocese in york that ice
10:39would show up on sunday mass just in trucks and cars and the people wouldn't
10:43come they were that was happening that was happening here so i called reverend graham
10:47and i said we need to bring up to the religious freedom that this is
10:51a violation of religious freedom people have the right to worship on the sabbath the
10:55federal government cannot impede that or harass it and they are franklin graham wisely said
11:00let's go let's bring it to the attention of uh of ice and we did
11:05and the director here in new york said thanks for bringing that tonight and over
11:08here cardinal dolan talks about how jd vance admitted that he lied when he claimed
11:13catholic bishops were pro -immigrant because they wanted to make money here play this clip
11:18right here you bet i would sometimes say uh -oh can't agree with you there
11:23he was he and i had a little tete -a -tete you probably know when
11:28he suggested that bishops in the united states were pro -immigrant because we were making
11:32money which i said was not only untrue it was scurrilous and he apologized all
11:37right he says that was out of line and that's not true now just to
11:41show you the video back from may uh this was the exchange right here and
11:46again christopher hale's got it all he's he's on top of this coverage um of
11:50jd vance when he handed pope leo the 14th the invitation to attend trump's 250th
11:57celebration you can see how disinterested pope leo the 14th looked right here when he
12:03received this invitation he just kind of put it aside and now we know that
12:07leo the 14th rejected showing up and instead he's not going to be there he's
12:12going to be uh at that uh small mediterranean uh migrant gateway lampadusa um is
12:20where he'll be on that uh on that day and this comes just days after
12:24leo publicly rebuffed trump's invitation to join the board of peace here let's play this
12:30clip right here good morning good morning how are you good so good to see
12:34you welcome a couple of things first of all this is a letter from the
12:38president first lady uh inviting you to come here many things to do but i
12:42wanted to make sure i gave gen literate some of my ideas of course of
12:46course so this of course is chicago bears jury jersey good choice with your name
12:54and i hopefully he just tried to sign it with a pattern but they um
12:59they got a little nervous oh yeah so i guess that's there's our kid right
13:03there okay you probably imagine in the united states people are extremely excited about something
13:08about you and about your europe okay thank you very much the visual brands sculpture
13:16the piece is a fragile flower and then we can be partners which for instance
13:25did not live in and i may live in okay don't be designed but oh
13:29that's wonderful which is right upstairs from here don't let's see that thank you for
13:33you and and then this is just another experience i see for you and there's
13:39one of these for the secretary else okay wonderful goodbye thank you and we'll pray
13:51for you thank you for being here for celebration yes i'm sure we will meet
13:55again and be in contact okay fantastic thank you very nice to meet you now
13:59just to show you what it ended up looking like ash wednesday in illinois watch
14:05as you'll see uh here uh chicago archbishop uh kupich play this clip it was
14:12led by chicago cardinal blaze supich he celebrated mass then led a procession to the
14:17broadview detention center the site gained attention during the immigration and customs enforcement operation midway
14:24blitz aimed at arresting illegal immigrants with criminal records joining us now is father leandro
14:30fossa from our lady of mount carmel in melrose park illinois father you attended the
14:35mass and procession can you tell us more about the turnout and the overall feeling
14:41yes i attended the mass and procession it was in my parish i'm the pastor
14:45of our lady of mount carmel in melrose park cardinal decided to be with us
14:50because we wanted to do a mass and procession in front of the scalabrini center
14:56and support our families who are being affected by this immigration rates here's what uh
15:03steve bannon previously said when he was trying to undermine pope leo the 14th let's
15:09play this clip i do think one of the dark horses i think unfortunately he's
15:12one of the most progressive is is cardinal prevos i don't think he's getting enough
15:16play he is certainly on the short list as being and i think it's pretty
15:19shocking given the the uh how the contempt they hold the american church the american
15:25church gives so much money they're afraid it has too much power so they've never
15:29really wanted to have an american pope but my understanding is prevost is one of
15:33the ones closest to francis ideologically uh he's also had tremendous experience in latin america
15:38and so he's one of the ones on the on the short list i'm a
15:42big believer uh that cardinal uh sarah uh from africa would be a uh would
15:47be a perfect uh would be a perfect selection right now for this moment in
15:50the church but i will tell everybody this is uh this is anybody's game right
15:54now between paralon one of the traditionalists you have no earthy idea how this is
15:59going to turn out that's why i think this time this run -up is so
16:02important it's kind of it's interesting that it's ironic it's going to take place it's
16:06going to kickoff, I think, on either the day of or the day before the
16:1180th anniversary of a victory in Europe.
16:14So it's very symbolic of what's coming together here in the first part of May.
16:19And here's Pope Leo XIV statement on the world becoming a much more dangerous place
16:26as a result of what the Trump regime has been engaged in and other authoritarians
16:31have been engaged in. It's a very powerful speech right here.
16:36You'll play this clip. In our time, the weakness of multilateralism is a particular cause
16:41for concern at the international level.
16:44A diplomacy that promotes dialogue and seeks consensus among all parties is being replaced by
16:52a diplomacy based on force by either individuals or groups of allies.
16:58War is back in vogue, and the zeal for war is spreading.
17:04The principle established after the Second World War, which prohibited nations from using force to
17:10violate the borders of others, has been completely undermined.
17:15Peace is no longer sought as a gift and a desirable good in itself or
17:21in the pursuit of the establishment of the ordered universe willed by God with a
17:26more perfect form of justice among men and women.
