Trump Loses It and Fires Top Generals at Worst Time!!!
4/23/202619 mincomplete
0:00The top officer of the United States Army, fired.
0:04The top leader of the United States Navy, fired.
0:08The former chairman of the Joint Chiefs, fired.
0:12Fired, fired, fired. The leader of Southcom in the Caribbean, fired and forced out.
0:20You have Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth, conducting a massive purge of our military over the
0:28past 14 months. You've had generals, admirals, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs, other top
0:36military officers purged or resigned.
0:40And some of our top talent is gone when we need them the most.
0:44And I think back to an interview that I did with Ben Hodges, who was
0:50the Army commander of Europe for the United States.
0:55And he told me his big break with Donald Trump and him becoming an outspoken
1:01guy against the Trump regime.
1:02When you hear Donald Trump talk about my generals, my admirals, you know, it's the
1:08language and my opinion of Adolf Hitler and Mussolini.
1:12And these types of purges that we're seeing now are the types of purges that
1:17we saw that would be conducted by Hitler and Mussolini of their top military leaders.
1:23I mean, let's just take a look at what happened in the past 24 hours.
1:27United States Navy Secretary John Phelan was fired.
1:32He was fired by Hegseth, who doesn't actually have the authority to fire because he's
1:36Senate confirmed, president appointed position.
1:40Trump had to be the one who actually did the firing.
1:44So Hegseth said, I'm firing you.
1:46Phelan said, I don't believe you fired me.
1:49And Phelan actually goes to the White House to confront Donald Trump.
1:53It's the story that CNN and others are reporting.
1:56And Donald Trump said, yeah, you're not building my ships good enough.
1:59I wanted those ships built quicker.
2:02And you may recall that Donald Trump wanted a group of ships called the Trump
2:07battleships. I kid you not.
2:09And Trump doesn't like the aircraft carriers or stealth ships or modern ships because Donald
2:15Trump thinks they're not aesthetically pleasing.
2:17And he goes, I'm an aesthetic guy.
2:19I want those battleships we used during World War I, those big, big battleships, Trump
2:25would say. I want to call them the Trump battleships.
2:27And he said that Phelan wasn't building the battleships quick enough.
2:31So while we have a naval blockade in the Persian Gulf right now, which is
2:35the main barrier to reaching negotiations or having negotiations with Iran, we fire the Navy
2:43secretary. I mean, look, John Phelan was a weird person to have this job in
2:46the first place. But who isn't in the Trump regime?
2:48The guy's never been in the Navy, never been in the military.
2:51He's a private equity guy who's just a Republican donor.
2:55But he's fired by Hegseth and Trump because he wasn't building the Trump battleships quick
3:00enough, right? And then what, a week and a half ago or two weeks ago
3:04or so, you had Sean Parnell.
3:07He's the spokesperson at the Pentagon.
3:09The same way he announced the termination of Phelan two weeks ago, he announced the
3:15termination of Randy George. That's the Army Chief of Staff, which is, you know, he's
3:21a four -star general. I mean, he's the top guy in the United States Army.
3:27General Randy George, the top position in the Army, is the Chief of Staff.
3:31And as Dan Lamouth, who's a foreign policy and reporter for Washington Post, says, this
3:37move is a surprise to many relatively senior Army officials.
3:41It also comes close to nearly a complete remake of the Joint Chiefs.
3:46Since Hegseth took office, he basically fired everyone who's on the Joint Chiefs, you know,
3:53including the chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
3:55And in addition to Phelan, in addition to Randy George, the general, the Army Chief
4:02of Staff, Defense Secretary Hegseth also fired this guy named David Honey, a former Army
4:08Ranger who led the Army Transformation and Training Command, Major General William Green Jr., who's
4:15the Chief of the Army's Chaplain Corps.
4:17And Hegseth and his team are now looking like they're going to try to fire
4:22Secretary of the Army, Dan Driscoll, because Hegseth is very jealous of this Driscoll guy
4:29who's like Vance's buddy. And Hegseth wants to see that guy gone.
4:34Now, this follows Admiral Alvin Holsey, who led Southcom.
4:40He stepped down. He was the Southcom chief, meaning he's the top person, the top
4:46command of Southcom. I mean, don't just resign.
4:48But he was asked to leave by Hegseth and Hoseley.
4:53Hoseley was objecting to Hegseth's war crimes in the Caribbean, where the United States military
4:59just blows up fishing boats that are off the coast of Venezuela.
5:03And as Zachary Cohen from CNN explains, tensions were simmering between Hegseth and Hoseley for
5:09weeks. Hoseley did not believe Hoseley was.
5:11have been quickly aggressive enough to blow up the fishing boats in the Caribbean, and
5:16he wanted more people to die.
5:18He had this bloodlust. He wanted to see more people dead.
5:21And Holsey said, look, these are war crimes.
5:24We can't do this. Now, it should be noted that in 1938 to 1912, Adolf
5:30Hitler systematically downgraded Germany's military command structure, sidelined independent generals, abolished the war ministry, and
5:40then concentrated control under his command.
5:43He had like a Hegseth -type sycophant, ultimately making himself the supreme commander, a deliberate
5:49centralization of military power in his hands.
5:53You know that moment when you're heading out the door and need something that looks
5:55polished without ironing or overthinking it?
5:57That's exactly why I wear mizzen and mane.
6:00I've been shopping with them for a while now.
6:02And honestly, once you try their shirts, it's hard to go back.
6:05I recently picked up one of their dress shirts and a pair of pants, and
6:08they are easily my go -to now.
6:10Super lightweight, stretchy, and just ridiculously comfortable while still looking sharp.
6:15Mizzen and mane makes classic menswear with performance fabrics, so you can look sharp and
6:19feel great all day long.
6:20No compromises. They actually invented the performance fabric dress shirt over 10 years ago.
6:26And since then, they have perfected it with modern fabrics.
6:29Their shirts and pants look refined, yet they're stretchy, lightweight, moisture -wicking, wrinkle -resistant, and
6:35completely machine -washable. No ironing or dry cleaning, and you really can wear them anywhere.
6:41Office, golf course, even just hanging out.
6:44They are clothes you actually don't want to take off.
6:47And here's something really special.
6:49Mizzen and mane is a veteran -led organization, and I love that.
6:52They're committed to supporting those who have served.
6:54They offer a year -round military discount and proudly give back to veteran organizations.
7:00Now is a great time to give them a try.
7:02Right now, Mizzen and mane is offering our listeners 20 % off your first purchase
7:07at MizzenandMaine .com, promo code MIDAS20.
7:12That's Mizzen, spelled M -I -Z -Z -E -N, and main, M -A -I -N,
7:19dot com, promo code MIDAS20, M -E -I -D -A -S -2 -0 for 20
7:26% off. MizzenandMaine .com, promo code MIDAS20.
7:31And if you'd rather shop in person, you can find Mizzen and main stores in
7:35select states. By the way, this is why I said, if you look at Trump
7:39building the ballroom and the bunker underneath, Trump's not planning on leaving, right?
7:44Trump is planning on using the military, in my opinion, after the term ends in
7:50order to try to stay in power.
7:51And he's trying to figure out how to do that now, while his approval is
7:5633 % and 30 % on the economy.
7:59As Dan Lamothe previously wrote, according to an exclusive report published by the Washington Post,
8:05this was several months back.
8:06The chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Dan Cain, along with other senior officials at
8:10the Pentagon, were preparing a major plan to present to Hegseth, which would basically downgrade
8:17several of the U .S.
8:18Armed Forces, unified combatant commands, and they shift in the balance of power among its
8:24top generals as part of a consolidation that Hegseth wanted.
8:28If adopted, the plan would usher in some of the most significant changes at the
8:32military's highest ranks in decades, which would include reducing in prominence the headquarters of CENTCOM,
8:39EuropeanCOM, EUCOM, U .S. African Command AFRICOM, by placing them under the control of a
8:45new organization called U .S.
8:48International Command Intercom. In addition, the plan calls for realigning SouthCOM and U .S.
8:54NorthernCOM, which oversees operations throughout the Western Hemisphere under a combatant command known as AmeriCOM.
9:00It's something they're still working on right now.
9:02And basically all of this would be controlled by Donald Trump, the way Hitler centralized
9:07these command structures. As Amy Siskin also writes, our military, right even now, the military
9:17sees what Trump's doing, and that's why, you know, this was in the Wall Street
9:20Journal article recently. She's reposting the Wall Street Journal article that we've been talking about
9:24a while now, where you have military leaders trying to keep Donald Trump out of
9:28the situation room. He's just so erratic.
9:30He's so erratic. He wants to play war and dress up, and he wants to
9:35show how tough he's erratic.
9:36He gets scared, you know, and it's really becoming deeply, deeply problematic.
9:41You know, and it should be noted that even some of the generals that Trump's
9:46kept, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Dan Cain, by the way, he had to
9:50get a waiver to become the chairman of the Joint Chiefs because he didn't have
9:55the rank to become the chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
9:58But Donald Trump liked his name, Raisin Cain, Raisin Cain.
10:02I'm going to make you my guy, right out of central casting.
10:04But even Cain, before the war in Iran started, or Trump's unlawful war in Iran
10:08started, he warned Donald Trump that an attack on Iran would be very problematic, that
10:13Iran would close the Strait of Hormuz, attack its neighbors, and that the U .S.
10:19was lacking some of the critical munitions, and we would not get the support from
10:24our allies, and it would become a quagmire.
10:26And yes, they were absolutely right.
10:29So, as Shanaka Pereira explains, 26 generals and admirals in 14 months, no misconduct cited
10:37for a single one. a former fox news weekend host who never held a senior
10:43military command pete hegseth has removed the joint chief's chairman the army chief of staff
10:49the commandee the commander of army transportation and training the chief chaplains the head of
10:56south com and at least 22 other senior officers from the most powerful military on
11:01earth he also blocked four army officers from promotion to brigadier general two black men
11:08and two women because he didn't want to promote black men or women by unilaterally
11:12striking their names from a list of 36 when army secretary dan driscoll refused to
11:18remove them hegseth did it himself and then fired randy george who wanted to keep
11:23those individuals on the promotion list now he's trying to fire dan driscoll as well
11:28um and this is this is what hegseth is doing i i want to share
11:33with you right now that clip i told you about and this is um ben
11:37hodges right here retired lieutenant general ben hodges this is what he told me back
11:42in 2024 this is what he told me in 2024 so you can hear for
11:47yourself and this was january this is before the election and you know he and
11:51i were having these types of conversations here playing this clip the thing that really
11:55pushed me over the edge on uh mr trump was when i heard him talking
12:00about my generals and my judges as if we were some third world country that
12:06um the judges and generals and other authorities all owed their fealty to whoever the
12:12dictator was and i just can't imagine um that the founding fathers intended that you
12:20know the president would have this kind of personal control over generals but that's that's
12:25obviously how mr trump thinks and it's reprehensible you know and then recently he talked
12:29about how the united states having gotten rid of all of this great talent all
12:34these top generals like our strategy is so outdated like we have all these weapon
12:41systems whether it's the patriot or the thad systems that cost hundreds of millions of
12:46dollars or billions of dollars and each missile that's used to as air defense costs
12:52millions of dollars sometimes tens of millions of dollars and iran's drones are like the
12:56shahid drones are like twenty thousand dollars and those fpv drones that they do the
13:01drone swarms are even cheaper than that and so we're using million dollar missiles in
13:07order to stop twenty thousand dollar drones and just think if iran sends decoys that
13:12aren't even armed they can make them even cheaper and so we're going to spend
13:16hundreds of millions of dollars which we have deplete our entire stockpile of missiles trying
13:22to shoot down twenty thousand dollar shahid drones that the iranians are able to rebuild
13:27very very quickly here's what had just says play this clip and and then of
13:31course we're watching with our own two eyes um what's happening in the in the
13:36gulf region and how effective iranian drones still are and that here we are still
13:42launching patriot against shahids versus and and then the president couldn't even uh be uh
13:49poised enough to say you know uh maybe uh zelinski does have some cards and
13:54let's let's accept his offer to help uh instead of saying no we have the
13:58best drones already i mean that that is uh not helpful and then you remember
14:03there was that moment where democratic congresswoman madeline dean confronted um maga mike johnson this
14:10is a while ago this was back in october of 2025 and she confronted maga
14:15mike and she's like the president is unhinged this is already in 2025 he's unwell
14:20and mike's like a lot of a lot of folks on your side are unwell
14:24she's like did you see what he said to the generals like did you see
14:26what went down when he spoke in front of all those generals here let's play
14:30this clip the president is unhinged he is unwell what are you doing on your
14:35side are too i don't control oh my god please that performance in front of
14:39the generals that i didn't see it is so dangerous you know i serve on
14:43foreign affairs and appropriations this is a collision of those two things our allies are
14:48looking elsewhere our enemies are laughing i just left you have a president who is
14:53you have a president who is unwell and what she was referring to was that
14:56an event when he when hegseth ordered all of the generals and admirals to go
15:00to quantico where he like berated them right he wants it to be an eyeball
15:05to eyeball kind of conversation dan lamuth reported at the time and he did it
15:10to basically say if you don't follow everything i do get the hell out of
15:14here i don't want you to be a general and hegseth's an idiot hegseth doesn't
15:18know what he's doing and that's how they've crippled our great military right now and
15:23so here was donald trump talking about when he was in the military how he'll
15:27be meeting with the generals you can play this clip this time so i'm going
15:30over i'm going to be meeting i'm going to be meeting with generals and with
15:35admirals and with leaders and if i don't like somebody i'm going to fire him
15:39right on the spot here's what he said in the oval office before that meeting
15:44back in october of 2025 let's play it one thing they're concerned about i mean
15:48look publicans have total control of washington you guys have control the house the senate
15:51is you well when you say control so uh we need 60 votes for this
15:57and we have 53 republicans so we need seven democrats and those seven democrats and
16:02others are asking for an extension of a tax credit um People who get the
16:08Affordable Care Act and some other government -backed health care.
16:10So are you willing to negotiate that?
16:12Well, what they're really asking for is they want to pay for illegal aliens that
16:16have come into our country by the millions and get onto the rolls, and they
16:21want to pay. And our people don't want to do that.
16:23Our people are taxed enough.
16:25You know, we just approved the largest tax decrease ever in the history of our
16:30country, including the extension of the previous Trump tax cuts.
16:35The tax cuts that we just approved, they want to use those tax cuts to
16:40give the money to illegal aliens, people that came into our country illegally and that
16:44are leaving the country. You know, there's been a self -deportation because of what we've
16:49been doing that's been incredible.
16:50Here was an interaction with Vance.
16:52Let's play it. Isn't it nice that people are coming from all over the world
16:56to be with us? It's not particularly unusual that generals who report to the Secretary
17:00of War and then to the President of the United States are coming to speak
17:03with the Secretary of War.
17:04It's actually not unusual at all, and I think it's odd that you guys have
17:07made it into such a big story.
17:09Is it a big story?
17:10I mean, is it? I don't think it is, sir.
17:13I would think it's... No, but isn't it a good story?
17:16I mean, you know, we're respected from all over the world as a military force.
17:21You know, I rebuilt the military during my first term, even though we gave a
17:25chunk of it away to Afghanistan.
17:27But we're talking to Afghanistan, too, by the way, about Bob Grumman, about that.
17:31But that's a very small amount compared to what we rebuilt it by.
17:35Here's what Donald Trump had previously said about the military is bad.
17:40Our generals do such a bad job.
17:42They should be fired during the election.
17:44I mean, this is what he was running on, that our generals are bad.
17:47Our military is bad. We had the strongest military in the world.
17:50Donald Trump was like, they're bad.
17:52Here, play this clip. You know, why wouldn't they want to have a strong order?
17:55Why wouldn't they want to have good elections?
17:57Why wouldn't they want to have good schooling, good, you know, so many different things?
18:03The military is bad. We have generals that do such a bad job.
18:07They never get fired. I mean, they should have been fired.
18:10And finally, with John Phelan being fired by Hegseth and that whole scene where Phelan
18:15runs to the White House and he's like, Donald, did you really fire me?
18:19Trump's like, yeah, you're not building the battleships quick enough.
18:21Like, do you remember the press conference that Trump and Phelan had, right, where they
18:26were talking about battleships and building Trump -class battleships?
18:29And that's what really Trump wanted here to play.
18:31This ship isn't just to swat the arrows.
18:34It is going to reach out and kill the archers.
18:37And for the first time in generations, we'll have a new leg in America's nuclear
18:42deterrence because the Trump -class battleship will carry the nuclear -armed sea -launched cruise missile.
18:49Striking dominance isn't all that the Trump -class battleship brings to the fight at sea.
18:55It has the size and capacity to serve as a flagship for our fleet commanders
19:00so that they can command and control naval forces far out to sea.
19:05Well, there you have it, folks.
