0:33T's and C's apply. Welcome it, everybody, to the Wednesday edition of the Clay Travis
0:40and Buck Sexton Show. And we are stacked, my friends, not just with great news
0:48stories, very interesting and important things to discuss.
0:52We've also got some guests to speak with all of you about, including at the
0:57bottom of this hour, where we will have the director of the FBI, Kash Patel,
1:01joining us, talking about crime fighting.
1:04Clay, you ask for miracles.
1:07I give you the FBI director.
1:11So he will be with us.
1:12And we're going to need some new FBI guys.
1:16I think they're probably hiring in some new FBI guys, getting some good people on
1:20that team. So a lot going on there.
1:23We're going to have some fun with this.
1:24It's not going to be fun for the people that end up shopping there.
1:27But Zoran Mamdani is setting up a government -run grocery store in New York.
1:34It will take... Clay, are you already up on the stats here, by the way?
1:37Did you already see this one?
1:38I read it just because I'm fired up because today is tax day and wasted
1:43money. And when I saw that Mamdani is going to waste, you hit us with
1:48the numbers, but to try to get one grocery store, government -run.
1:51He's going to spend $30 million and three years to build a grocery store that
1:59he has already scaled back the promise of.
2:02It's not everything will be cheaper because he might have had somebody who knows something
2:07about the grocery business to explain to him, you're operating with a 1 % to
2:122 % profit margin. It's just scale that makes this a business.
2:17But you are razor thin on the margins.
2:19It's not... Think about it.
2:22People who understand capitalism, i .e.
2:24all of you, if one grocery store was selling a can of Goya beans for
2:30$3 and another grocery store was selling them for $2, people would go to the
2:35other one, right? I mean, there's competition.
2:38This is why grocery stores have to do things like a loss leader.
2:43You might say, Buck, why is it that I could go in and get London
2:45Broil at... Which is a nice cut of meat.
2:48London Broil at my local grocery store at this great price because they're actually losing
2:52money on that to get you into the store so that they can get you
2:57to get some other things that they might make some money back on, right?
3:00So we'll get into this some more, Clay, because it's really...
3:04The key thing about it, though, is everyone knows this will be a disaster.
3:09Everyone knows that Momdani's project is going to be a cautionary tale, but he is
3:14a commie, and so he can't stop.
3:17Real government grocery stores have never been tried.
3:20That's where we're going on this one.
3:21That is where this is heading.
3:22It is a slow -motion financial train wreck for the city of New York.
3:27I'm already too excited about it.
3:29We will come back to this story, I promise you.
3:31I wanted to start, Clay, because obviously we've got to get to the crime situation
3:36with the FBI director, Kash Patel, Director Patel at the bottom here.
3:41But Trump has had... Two things that I know are high on your radar.
3:45Iran, which we'll give you the latest update on.
3:48But I actually want to start with this, Clay, because I'm hearing stuff.
3:51You're hearing stuff. Friends, we might be faced with a Supreme Court vacancy here, a
3:58voluntary vacancy, meaning, you know, we're all wishing for the good health of all of
4:04the Supreme Court members. This is just someone saying, look, I'm old, I'm stepping down.
4:08The speculation is it will be Alito, or perhaps, Thomas, I think Alito is more
4:13likely. Personally, Trump was asked about this by Fox News' Maria Bartiromo.
4:18This is cut one, hit it.
4:20It's probably not easy to give up for people, you know?
4:22They reach a certain age.
4:23Ginsburg could not do it.
4:25And she really hurt herself within the Democrat Party.
4:29People are very angry at her because I got to appoint people instead of Biden.
4:35So you don't know if you're going to be naming, putting another nomination forward.
4:39Okay, Mr. President, you've got a big meeting.
4:41It's possible. You know, in theory, in theory, it's two or three, they tell me.
4:45If you just read statistics, it could be two, it could be three, it could
4:48be one. I don't know.
4:50I'm prepared to do it, but when you mention Alito, he is a great justice.
4:55Clay, the team player move here from Alito, who I think is 76.
4:59Does that sound right? The team player move is while Trump is the president, and
5:06while we have the Senate, he would get nothing but applause from me, you, and
5:13I'm sure this audience, step aside now, let someone else take the reins.
5:17What say you? We've been ahead of the story on this, and I give credit.
5:21This is where the prediction markets, poly market, and particular really got my attention as
5:27i'm running through to see that alito is favored to step down and if he's
5:33going to step down we've got big decisions coming in june which will be the
5:37end of this supreme court term and then you have a little bit of a
5:42dead period and it would be uh make a lot of sense while republicans control
5:47the senate and the presidency to get a new supreme court justice in um before
5:53the october term so you have nine justices ready to go and look i hope
5:58republicans retain the senate for two years thereafter uh for the final two years of
6:03trump's 2 .0 term but that's not guaranteed um and uh so if you want
6:10to guarantee that for instance you could be replaced by potentially buck a actual one
6:16of your clerks which um again is something that a lot of supreme court justices
6:22love to do you know the person that is going to replace you you feel
6:27good about their judicial philosophy and you go through the confirmation process with that new
6:33individual i do wonder buck whether now that roe v wade has been overturned will
6:39there be a calmer supreme court justice process i know democrats are going to score
6:45their political points and they're going to lose their minds but will it be calmer
6:50than it has been in past years because we were all told if roe v
6:55wade ever gets overturned the the seas will be boiling right like things will fall
7:01apart and it's actually not happened at all it's really not even a top 10
7:06political issue in the country anymore for what determines certainly national elections because it's now
7:13up to the states which is what it should have been it really should have
7:16been all all along um but nonetheless clay and that was always the uh scalia
7:21position on this it's funny you ask that question and i'm like yes of course
7:25in a rational actor environment the supreme court temperature should be turned down post row
7:34but no i don't think so they'll find they'll find some way to make this
7:40uh you know the other big issue that comes to mind is is the birthright
7:43citizenship and that that's something democrats are clearly deranged about um but i think trans
7:48rights is another thing that gets them about as all not quite as animated as
7:53abortion but the the far left fringe wants a supreme court that will create a
7:59special carve out for trans rights there's no question about that yeah and so they
8:04will fight tooth and nail on it for that i think so so the answer
8:09is i think they will not be able to get the same mobilization but there
8:13will be plenty of crazies who treat the supreme court like it's their it's the
8:17end of the world if they don't get some communist maniac in robes yeah and
8:22look i i also would point out i mean we're dealing with this with swalwell
8:26which has brought back the echo of kavanaugh they're gonna any guy that they find
8:31we're kind of in this era now where it feels to me buck unless you
8:37are well it doesn't even matter i was gonna say unless you have only slept
8:41with one person in your entire life and only kissed one woman in your entire
8:45life that you're almost gonna get attacked and somebody's gonna say oh so and so
8:50if you're a guy and you're getting you're up for a big job so and
8:53so is a sexual abuser or a rapist he is he dated women who were
8:57too young and i was thinking well maybe if you only married one woman you
9:02were a virgin when you got it they'll just make it up anyway right like
9:05we're kind of in that that was kavanaugh yeah kavanaugh hadn't led some some playboy
9:10lifestyle at all yes he was he was a boy scout he was a boy
9:14scout of the first order and i mean that you know in a good way
9:16as a boy scout um and and yet they they still tried to they completely
9:21fabricated things about him but clay who is your i mean we could do this
9:26right now look we're getting a little ahead of this there's still some rumors coming
9:29out obviously trump is being asked about it so it is now in the news
9:32cycle but i have heard from people who have heard from people who have heard
9:38from people that there is going to be a vacancy soon and everyone is i
9:42think pretty confident it would be alito but who knows could be thomas uh if
9:48that happens who is our pick who is the move for supreme court i i
9:55got it look there's a lot of judges that might be phenomenal that i don't
9:59have at my fingertips right now i'd have to see what the federalist society puts
10:03forward if you're asking me off the top of my head though mike lee would
10:07be really good mike lee would be great i'll give you one that i don't
10:12know if it's going to get any attention but i think it would be a
10:15home run ron desantis i don't know that a hundred percent he would do it
10:21i don't know i don't know that ron wants it i think that i think
10:24ron wants to run stuff i don't think he wants to be a judge personally
10:26that's just my sense i think he might like being a judge really is a
10:32and i say this in a favorable way for him he is a law nerd
10:36um and i'll tell you a story i don't know if i've told this story
10:39on the air before um but a few years ago there was a sunshine summit
10:43uh that was put on by florida i spoke at the event um and i
10:47was sitting at the table with james uthmeyer who is now the very accomplished accomplished
10:52accomplished attorney general of the state of Florida, doing a really good job.
10:54He was the chief of staff for Ron DeSantis at the time.
10:57Marco Rubio is there, Byron Donalds, a lot of the guys that are friends of
11:01ours and have been on the program a lot over the years.
11:04And I sat down and I said, where is DeSantis?
11:09And Utmeier told me he's in a back room reading all of the latest court
11:14opinions coming down in the state of Florida from cover to cover so that he
11:20is completely prepared for them.
11:22So everybody else, this is 100 % true, everybody else is walking around.
11:25Hold on to your blouses, ladies.
11:27Yes, everybody else is walking around like kissing babies, posing for photos.
11:33And DeSantis, who was the keynote as the governor of Florida, as you would anticipate,
11:38is in the back reading opinions.
11:41Again, I do think Ron DeSantis would make a very good senator.
11:45He's obviously been an excellent governor.
11:47He would make a great cabinet member.
11:49However, a part of me thinks that he might be open to the idea of
11:55being a Supreme Court justice.
11:56And so if you asked me someone who is in the political realm who would
12:00be a great Supreme Court justice, you mentioned Mike Lee.
12:02I don't disagree with that.
12:04I think he likes being in the Senate.
12:06But I do think Ron DeSantis, remember, his term is up in November, so the
12:12timing of it could be pretty perfect, right?
12:15So you've got his term as governor coming to an end.
12:20And again, I'm not sure that Trump is going to go to a political figure.
12:25It's somewhat of a rarity, and there will be a lot of, as you just
12:28mentioned, Buck, Federalist Society recommendations, guys and gals who have been former Alito clerks that
12:36he would be very excited, I think, to have succeed him.
12:39But if you wanted me to go with a political name, I think Ron DeSantis
12:43would be an outstanding, outstanding Supreme Court justice.
12:48Remember, he's also only 46 or 47, so you would get him for 30 years.
12:53I think he would be phenomenal, quite honestly.
12:56He certainly, because this is where IQ, you know, is Ron the funniest guy?
13:01No. Okay. And also our sense of comedians and politics now because of Trump is
13:07forever. The bar has been set very high on what makes a politician funny.
13:11No one since Reagan has had anything approaching Trump's timing and comedic ability.
13:16I mean, I'm just saying, in terms of the charisma factor, you don't care about
13:20a Supreme Court justice having super high charisma.
13:23You want super high intellect, understanding, and honestly, wisdom.
13:27And Ron hits all of those notes very well.
13:30I just think that he still thinks maybe one day he's going to run for
13:33the big job, which I don't think you can do if you're a Supreme Court
13:36justice. No, no, no. It's true.
13:38I would say this. It also would be an easy vetting.
13:41Like, whatever you think about Ron DeSantis, when you run for president, they go through
13:45your past with a fine -toothed comb.
13:47Like, what are you going to say about him?
13:48I mean, he's already, I just think it would be, he would be outstanding at
13:53it. You know, you'd have him for 30 years.
13:57He's run for president. He may be looking at it and saying, look, J .D.
14:00Vance is the guy in 28.
14:01It's going to be hard to be J .D.
14:03Marco Rubio is out there.
14:05He may look at that.
14:05Look, he's still relatively young, 46 or 47.
14:08I mean, you know, we elect presidents over 70, so 25 years from now.
14:12I mean, he's still got a long career.
14:13But I think he's a legal nerd, and I think he would be a phenomenal
14:17pick for the next 30 years to serve on the Supreme Court.
14:21And, look, the Supreme Court justice is the ultimate legacy that every president gets.
14:27But a president gets eight years.
14:29Again, I'm just saying, Ron DeSantis, somebody of his age, could be on the Supreme
14:33Court for 30 or even.
14:35Remember, John Paul Stevens stayed, sorry, Souter, I think, stayed on until he was 90,
14:41right? So, I mean, he could be on for 45 years.
14:45So, again, if he's healthy, it's an appointment that is, I think, the most important
14:52thing in many ways that presidents do.
14:55We were just talking about how, in a post -Roe world, the Supreme Court feels
14:59different. Democrats were saying forever that the world would end, didn't end.
15:04But, unfortunately, abortion didn't end either.
15:06It's still happening all across the country in states with very liberal abortion laws.
15:12So, babies are losing their lives at very similar levels to what was happening before
15:17Roe v. Wade was overturned.
15:19This is why I think it's so important to do what you can to act
15:23on your pro -life principles and save tiny babies in the womb right now.
15:28Not next year, not the next Supreme Court term, whatever it may be.
15:33Save babies now. Pre -born clinics allow you to do that because if you support
15:38these pre -born clinics, you are helping moms who come into the clinics and just
15:42need compassion and truth. And what happens is they have this ultrasound process and the
15:48baby is shown to mom via ultrasound.
15:51And then there's a discussion about all the support that these pre -born clinics are
15:55going to give that mom for the tiny life growing inside her womb.
15:58Over 80 % of the time, when pre -born has a mom see the baby
16:02on ultrasound, the choice is for life.
16:05And so many of these mothers, I've met them, so many of these mothers have
16:09been pushed to abortion elsewhere, told that's their only choice.
16:12Step in and save babies today.
16:14Pre -born is attempting to welcome more than 10 ,000 women into their clinics nationwide.
16:20this month in April alone.
16:22So here is my ask.
16:23I know you're busy, and I know prices are high, and I know times are
16:26tight for a lot of people.
16:28But if you can, consider saying yes to a gift of just $28.
16:32That $28, there's a specific reason for that number.
16:35It's because that's how much an ultrasound costs.
16:38So if you can give $28, you will be helping a mom get that ultrasound
16:43and helping a life be saved via pre -born clinics.
16:46And if you can do $140, that would help five moms make that decision for
16:52life in a pre -born clinic.
16:54$28, $140, whatever you can spare.
16:58To donate, use your cell phone, dial pound 250, and say the keyword baby.
17:02That's pound 250, and say baby.
17:05Or go to preborn .com slash buck, preborn .com slash B -U -C -K, sponsored
17:11by Preborn. Laugh, learn, and hang with the guys.

17:52You want some good news?
17:54Tax day. We're going to get into it.
17:56I've got some of the numbers.
17:57That is not good news for those of us who actually pay taxes.
18:01But good news. The S &P 500 has just set an all -time record high.
18:08So it is up, Buck, 2 ,000 points since we were told by all of
18:16the economic experts last year that things were falling apart.
18:20So if you have merely held stocks and just not even looked at the prices,
18:26not panicked about what's going on with Iran, what's going on with tariffs, what's going
18:31on with everything as President Trump is in charge, you now have more money in
18:37your 401k. You have more money in your stock accounts than at any point in
18:42your life. Buy and hold.
18:43Buy and hold. Buy and hold.
18:44And congrats to everyone with stocks on the fact that we have now got an
18:51all -time record high even amidst the Iran situation.
18:55We'll give you the latest on the situation in Iran when we come back.
18:58But, Buck, this morning I was downstairs lifting weights.
19:03And last night my wife said, yes.
19:06My wife said, are you really lifting way more because you don't want your 15
19:12-year -old to be stronger than you?
19:15He is lifting all the time.
19:16I said, yes. I have to be able to be the strongest man in the
19:20house for at least a little while longer.
19:22And if you're out there and you want to be the strongest man in your
19:25house and you want to have a little bit more vim, vigor, vitality, Chalk is
19:29helping male vitality hit record highs.
19:33You can go to chalk .com to unlock their spring specials.
19:38So if you like to lift weights and you want a little bit more testosterone
19:41in your life, you can use my name, Clay.
19:43And Chalk will give you a free $99 bag of chocolate powder with your first
19:48delivery. That's C -H -O -Q .com, code Clay.
19:52Chalk .com, code C -L -A -Y.
19:56Welcome back in here to Clay and Buck.
19:58I was just talking to a really good friend of mine who lives in Washington,
20:03D .C. And he was saying that the city feels like a different city.
20:08And Trump's initiative on crime there is not only making people safer.
20:14He says there's such a life and vitality in certain neighborhoods he hasn't seen in
20:18a long time. Real estate prices are going up.
20:21And it's really been great for our nation's capital.
20:24Well, what happened? Oh, we all know.
20:26So let's talk to somebody who can speak to this, though, with particular insight and
20:30expertise. The director of the FBI, Cash Patel, is with us now.
20:33Director Patel, honored to have you with us again, sir.
20:36Thank you. Thanks so much for having me back on.
20:39Let's just talk about this violent crime crackdown nationwide.
20:44But give us some of the highlights of where this has had particular work.
20:47And then, Director, I want to ask you about what does it mean for the
20:51federal and the local department?
20:52Like, I want you to take us into the mechanics of how this has worked
20:55a bit so we can understand it.
20:56But first, if you would, just where are we seeing huge results from federal law
21:01enforcement, FBI leading the charge, working to bring down violent crime rates?
21:06Here's the great news for America.
21:07Everywhere. Literally everywhere. Thanks to President Trump's resourcing and backing the blue in law enforcement
21:13and giving the American people the security blanket that they so well deserve, we have
21:20launched out on what you just announced, President Trump's task forces in Washington, D .C.
21:23and places like Memphis, where the violent crime rates have been dropping by 50 and
21:2760 percentage points across the board.
21:30Memphis was a per capita homicide capital of America.
21:32We chopped that down by 40 percent thanks to President Trump's leadership and establishment of
21:37the task force. But you hit it right on its head.
21:40It's not just the FBI.
21:41The FBI is the lead law enforcement agency, but we're working with our state and
21:44local partners in every single jurisdiction that we have.
21:47because President Trump has stressed interagency cooperation at the state and federal level.
21:52And when you let good cops be cops, when you remove the bureaucracy, and when
21:56you know that you're law enforcement personnel on the field, and when they know that
22:00they have the support of their leadership structure and their government and their president, they're
22:04going to go out there and do the work.
22:05And that's why the homicide rate dropped 20 points across the entire country.
22:10That's why we have 20 % less opiate overdose deaths in America in one year
22:15alone. Those two would be monumental achievements, but President Trump and this FBI have done
22:20so much more. Washington, D .C.
22:23is a great example. You just mentioned it.
22:24I just looked at the current data.
22:26The murder rate's down 50 % off last year, and last year was one of
22:30the lowest murder rates on record.
22:31I would imagine with America 250, that's a focus.
22:35If cities like Chicago actually got behind what we're seeing in Memphis and we're seeing
22:42in D .C., what do you think the crime, the murder rate, let's just focus
22:45on murder, how much murder, how many lives could be saved if you had real
22:50support from blue cities like we've seen in D .C.
22:54and Memphis? What kind of life -saving opportunity would be out there?
22:59Hundreds. And you know this as well as anybody.
23:01You cover it. Tragically, you see these gang shootings.
23:04And that's where the FBI's focus has been on, those localized street gangs.
23:08Yes, we're looking at the national security threats, the large foreign terrorist organizations, the narco
23:13-traffickers, the MS -13s of the world, but a lot of these offshoots and these
23:17localized street gangs we've done in places like Philadelphia, where we literally eliminated an entire
23:22street gang in Weymouth. And we would do the same thing in Chicago if they
23:25let us in, but you highlighted it.
23:28If President Trump has offered to go in and they have an elected leadership there
23:31that is in favor of politics over protecting its people, I mean, Clay and Buck,
23:35you guys know this better than anyone.
23:37You see kids five years of age, seven years of age, get caught up in
23:41gang shootings and murdered. And you would think that the people of those towns want
23:46their city secure. And I think the people do.
23:49It's just their elected leadership is prioritizing politics over public safety.
23:53And to me, that's just a tragedy.
23:55We could save hundreds of lives in places like Chicago if they do.
23:59Well, we totally agree, Director Patel.
24:01It's remarkable and also, unfortunately, really frustrating to see how clear the results are.
24:08And yet, and the unwillingness to admit that this Trump initiative, which you are part
24:13of the tip of the spear on and the FBI and the men and women
24:17of the FBI, they won't admit that this is working and saving lives.
24:19They'd rather things continue to be a problem in some of these cities because you're
24:24not getting that same level of cooperation.
24:26I want to ask you about the fraud stuff come up in a second.
24:28So we definitely need to get to that.
24:29But first up, though, can you just talk us through a little bit?
24:32What does it mean in Memphis now?
24:34What is different on the ground in terms of how law enforcement is working together?
24:38You know, we invited the mayor of Memphis on and he still has an open
24:40invite to come talk to us about this and just to congratulate him on how
24:44well things are going in the city with this federal partnership.
24:47But what does it mean?
24:48Do you have FBI guys who are riding along with state troopers?
24:52Are they just coordinating back at headquarters?
24:54How does it look? It's a variety of things.
24:56But you have to attack the gang network, as I was mentioning earlier.
25:00And that's what we did in Memphis.
25:01But you also have to get state and local prosecutors willing to bring those tough
25:04street crimes in state and local court.
25:06And we were able to do that in Memphis.
25:08What you also have to do is expand your federal prosecutions.
25:11And thanks to the DOJ presence there, the FBI is leading the prosecutions of violent
25:16gang offenders, murderers, rapists, and drug dealers, and putting them in federal court every single
25:22chance we get. So you have to have a jurisdiction that's willing to let us
25:26in and not take over, but also have a jurisdiction that is a police force
25:30and a prosecution force willing to take that on.
25:33And that's what was congregated in Memphis, thanks to President Trump's leadership.
25:37You saw the direct result of how we reduced.
25:40People said, you can't save Memphis.
25:41The per capita rate for homicides is the highest in the country.
25:44And it's been like that for years.
25:45There's no way you can do that.
25:46We did it in six months.
25:47It shows you we can do it there.
25:49We can do it in Chicago.
25:50But more importantly for the folks around America that are listening to this, we're doing
25:54it in every single country.
25:55I mean, when you seize enough fentanyl to kill 178 million Americans, a 31 %
26:00increase, that's just the FBI seizures under President Trump's leadership.
26:04Think about how many lives we saved in towns across America, how many overdoses we
26:08presented for tragedies like kids in high schools that we used to see around the
26:11country are diminishing greatly. Less seriously here, USA hockey.
26:17That was so awesome. And I can only imagine how cool it was to be
26:23there representing the United States government and be able to celebrate with those guys.
26:29I know we know that there are a lot of truly insane, broken -brained Democrats.
26:34Were even though you surprised by how much they came after you for celebrating a
26:40gold medal win? By the way, something that Jimmy Carter did, something that Walter Mondale
26:45did back when we won the gold medal the last time.
26:49I mean, that can be kind of characterized how much they've lost their minds.
26:54I think, yeah, I guess it doesn't surprise me.
26:56What was important was we were there for the Milan Olympics.
26:59The FBI was leading the security for 250 ,000 Americans that went to Milan for
27:03the Winter Olympics. The FBI is responsible for the upcoming World Cup, where we have,
27:07what, 64 matches across the country and ultimately the 2020 Olympics.
27:11So we learned through every evolution.
27:13And thankfully, due to the...
27:15FBI and President Trump and DHS, we haven't had any significant security incidences at F1,
27:21at the Super Bowl, at the Club World Cup, and that's what we're doing.
27:24And I was fortunate enough to be there with the men's hockey team and my
27:29friends on the team and celebrating something that hadn't been done in, what, 50, my
27:34math's terrible, 50 -some years.
27:35So I was glad to be celebrating for America at a historic time, and I
27:40was glad that we were able to provide the security necessary to make sure our
27:44athletes and our American citizens that attended the Olympics could go there safely and return
27:49safely, and that's our focus, and that's always going to be our focus.
27:52I'll always ignore the noise.
27:54We're speaking to FBI Director Patel, and just for the record, Mr.
27:57Director, I, too, love patriotism, freedom, and Americans kicking ass at sports.
28:03But now I've got to take us in another direction here for a second, if
28:09I could, because we have a lot of people writing in, and they're asking us
28:12this question, and we keep saying, well, this is, you know, we've got to see
28:16how the investigations go, there's a process, there's, but there is a really, and I'm
28:21sure it's high up on your radar, a sense that there is systematic and just
28:27massive fraud going on, defrauding the federal government, whether it's Medicare, Medicaid, all kinds of
28:35different payments under those systems, just lots of things in the fraud category at enormous
28:41scale, hundreds of millions, billions of dollars.
28:44Does the FBI, first of all, is that a priority right now?
28:47Do you have the resources to be able to deal with this?
28:50And are full investigations underway of places like what happened in Minneapolis and people talking
28:56about that? Now California is up on people's radar.
28:59Even Gavin Newsom started to say, yeah, there's a lot of fraud.
29:01Talk to us about that.
29:02Yeah, fraud has always been a priority.
29:04These complex investigations are what the FBI does best, and thanks to the vice president,
29:08his leadership, and DOJ on the task force, we're able to get after it with
29:11even more resources than we've ever had.
29:13But we've been on it since we've gotten in the seat.
29:15Last summer alone, I was in Minneapolis before everything went down, and we took down
29:19a $250 million fraud for a program called Feeding Our Futures, where people defrauded a
29:25program in the state of Minneapolis that was used to feed poor children.
29:29We did that last summer.
29:30We connected it to the statewide fraud investigations that we have going there, and in
29:35places like California, we just had a massive takedown just last week with our U
29:39.S. attorney's office there, I think on a $55 million fraud program.
29:43And so we're not stopping, but mapping out these networks under our NSPM 7 initiative,
29:48we're taking entire data sets from around the country and the world and say, who's
29:52funding these things? But more importantly, who is taking the taxpayer dollar and enriching themselves
29:59unlawfully? And everyone that is doing that is a target and is going to continue
30:04to be a target under the vice president's task force.
30:08So you are looking into this, there's a task force and people, because right now,
30:13Mr. Director, there's a sense that people are just getting away with this all over
30:17the place, that there's so much fraud that it's like impossible to track it all
30:22down. It sounds like you're saying, no, the Bureau was on it, the resources are
30:26there, because if we're a country where people can steal millions, billions, whatever it is,
30:32when you count this up, there's a sense it's tax day to day.
30:35And it's, you know, a lot of people say, OK, so I have to pay
30:38my federal income tax. I have to do this the right way.
30:41But a lot of people can get away with just cheating the system to the
30:44tune of huge sums of money.
30:46So that is not going to be allowed on President Trump's watch.
30:49It hasn't been allowed. And I'll tell you what happened.
30:52And you know this. When you let rampant fraud in the prior administration explode, we
30:57are the ones left cleaning it up.
30:59And we are doing that, just like we did with the violent crime initiatives across
31:02the country that dropped the murder rate and so many other ways in which we're
31:05protecting violent crimes, our violent crimes against children.
31:08We're doing the same thing on the fraud front.
31:10We're cleaning up the past failures of the prior administration.
31:13And we're not going to stop until we have every fraud investigation complete.
31:17I have hundreds of fraud investigations, large scale fraud investigations, opened around the country that
31:22we've been working for 14 straight months.
31:24And people are, I'm glad, are paying attention to our publicized wins.
31:28And we got a lot more coming.
31:30Cash, I'm going to go back completely unserious because you probably get asked all sorts
31:34of serious questions. But Buck and I were just talking off air.
31:39Pete Hegseth, you probably saw this, posted a video of him bench pressing 315 pounds.
31:46That is a ridiculous amount to be able to bench press.
31:49But I know that you are a pretty serious workout guy, too.
31:54What's your bench? And has it gone up since you became FBI director?
31:58I'll just say I think Pete's got me on that one.
32:01But I did his push -up and pull -up challenge.
32:04You know, I think it's great.
32:06It's also inspiring to our workforces to prioritize fitness.
32:10Because, look, we are the premier law enforcement agency in the world.
32:12And I'm not asking you to be a Navy SEAL, but if I'm asking you
32:15to take down bad guys in the streets and chase them down, then you've got
32:18to be able to do a couple of push -ups and pull -ups.
32:20And so our standards are going to meet the requirements of the dynamic threat landscape.
32:24And leaders like Pete and myself who are willing to go out there and maintain
32:27our fitness levels to what we can, we're just asking our workforce to do the
32:31same. And I think it's inspiring.
32:32And if folks out there want to make fun of us, what would you rather
32:35have, Pete, myself, and the other leaders doing what we're doing or 350 -pound overweight
32:40people leaving the Department of War and the Federal Bureau of Investigation?
32:43It's an example we set, leadership out front, and we're going to continue to do
32:47it. Will you be at the UFC fight, by the way?
32:49Are you looking forward to that?
32:51You know, I'm a big MMA guy, and Dana's a dear friend.
32:54And as you know, the FBI, for the first time, did its historic partnership with
32:58the UFC at Quantico. We had 10 world champions come in and train 350 agents
33:02for a weekend. So it's a big part of what we're doing here to provide
33:07the resources and training for our agents.
33:09And so I'm looking forward to that fight at the White House.
33:12FBI Director Cash Patel, good work, sir.
33:15Thank you for making the streets safer.
33:17Great to talk to you, and we'll have you back soon.
33:20Yep. Thanks so much for having me.

35:15Clay Travis, Buck Sexton Show.
35:17Buck, I know this sometimes stuns you, but I just saw our friend Jesse Kelly
35:20share it, and I just went and clicked on it.
35:24But, in the state of Texas right now, the Athletic, which is the New York
35:28Times sports section, they are awful.
35:31They are investigating. This is real.
35:35This is their lead story.
35:36The Texas Rangers franchise has installed a statue of a Texas Ranger inside of the
35:45baseball stadium. And the Athletic has decided that it is an offensive statue, and they
35:51are trying to get the statue removed.
35:53So, I do think it is worth remembering, and I just point this out.
35:59Right now, we've got a solid, you just heard from Kash Patel, we've got a
36:04solid cadre of what I would say are just normal people running the country.
36:09The moment that Democrats get power, their crazy train hasn't been derailed.
36:17It hasn't even necessarily lost momentum inside of the party.
36:21It's just being curtailed because we've eliminated the crazy in terms of leadership right now.
36:28But, Buck, they have not gone anywhere.
36:31I see some of the things that they are working on, and it is absolutely
36:36bonkers, absolutely bonkers how far left wing they remain.
36:41But, right now, lead story, they are offended that the franchise named after the Texas
36:46Rangers has decided to put up a statue of a Texas Ranger.
36:50So, this is the world that we are in.
36:52I will say, positive side, as I said, the stock market has now set a
36:59record high, but there's still a lot of chaos out there.
37:02I'm just, I'm waiting for them to figure out that the Vikings, a storied NFL
37:07franchise, not very feminist, and in fact, really weak on trans rights.
37:14Really weak on trans rights.
37:17Although, the guys did have long hair sometimes.
37:19All right, we have VIP email from Andrew.
37:23We're going to need some new FBI guys is a hilarious Die Hard reference.
37:26Well done. That was actually Clay.
37:28In reference to my VIP email from Guy, nice Die Hard reference, Buck, you ask
37:33for a miracle, I give you the FBI.
37:36You know what I love about that?
37:37We might have talked about this before.
37:39Hans Gruber, who was played by Alan Rickman, who unfortunately has passed away.
37:43Many of you know him from his role as Snape in Harry Potter, which is
37:47so famous that even I know that without having seen the movie.
37:50You know he had never been in a movie before he did that movie?
37:52He was a stage actor from the UK, and he stepped in.
37:56That was his first movie, was Hans Gruber.
37:59That skill right there. That's game.
38:01That guy's got game. I would argue is the greatest action film ever made.
38:06I put it at number one as well.
38:07I put Predator at number two.
38:08My brothers and I just talked about this.
38:10And I'll see you next time.
38:10I actually put The Matrix at number three, but that's a little more controversial.
38:13But I go Die Hard Predator, The Predator.
38:16I would probably go Die Hard 1, Matrix 2.
38:19Those are both amazing. We come back tax day, sorry.
