0:19Welcome in. Tuesday edition. Clay Travis, Buck Sexton Show.
0:25State of the Union tonight.
0:27Tonight, we have got a lot of stories to discuss surrounding the State of the
0:33Union. Our friend Bill O 'Reilly will join us at the top of Hour 2
0:38to break that down. We are also scheduled to be joined by Small Business Administration
0:43head Kelly Loeffler from Jimmy's Famous Seafood, which may well become many of your favorite
0:50seafood restaurants in America based on the way that they have responded to crazy left
0:55-wingers. Buck, I heard your open yesterday and it brought a great deal of pride
1:01to my American soul. Last night, yesterday, I was working with advertisers.
1:07We got a lot of positive things going on with the program.
1:12And I flew into South Florida to meet with them and I ended up at
1:1711 nightclub because they had a table there.
1:21And the U .S. men's Olympic team came in to celebrate their gold medal, the
1:27hockey team. And I'm not sure, Buck, I have ever been more optimistic about America.
1:34First of all, everybody there is under the age of 30.
1:37If you haven't seen the viral videos that came out of that party last night,
1:43the U .S. men's hockey team showed up and began their night in the nightclub
1:49by singing the national anthem.
1:52The entire nightclub sang the national anthem.
1:55They sang Lee Greenwood. They sang so many incredibly patriotic songs.
2:03They are all going viral.
2:06And I just loved everything about it.
2:10Now, these guys are reportedly going to be at the State of the Union tonight,
2:15Buck. And I would suggest to you that I don't think they can go full
2:19Joe Biden and break out the huge oversized aviator glasses.
2:25I am certain that there are going to be a lot of hungover American hockey
2:31heroes at the State of the Union.
2:33But this is now the lead story everywhere because left -wingers are angry about Kash
2:39Patel being in the locker room.
2:41They are angry about the U .S.
2:43men going to the State of the Union address.
2:46They are angry that President Trump made what I thought was a pretty funny kind
2:50of joke in his celebration with the U .S.
2:53men's hockey team. And this is now leading the news on CNN.
2:57It is leading the news on MSNBC.
3:01And to me, it is just part and parcel of a big story here, which
3:06is Democrats can't be normal.
3:08And I got a history lesson for you, Buck, that I think you'll appreciate.
3:13I believe before you were born, I was 10 months old.
3:17Back in 1980, 46 years ago, we won the gold medal by beating the Soviet
3:23Union in one of the greatest Olympic upsets of all time.
3:25Do you know what happened in the immediate aftermath of that victory?
3:29Walter Mondale, Vice President of the United States, went into the U .S.
3:34men's locker room to celebrate with them.
3:37And he had Jimmy Carter, then President of the United States, call to congratulate the
3:44U .S. men on their gold medal win over the Soviet Union.
3:48Everyone in America thought that was great.
3:51If you are out there listening to us right now, the fact that Jimmy Carter
3:55was a Democrat and Walter Mondale was a Democrat and they were in the locker
3:58room was in no way a triggering moment for you, the fact that Kash Patel,
4:03as the highest ranking member of the administration, was in the locker room celebrating and
4:09called President Trump and had him talk to the team and invite them to the
4:13White House, is actually 1 billion percent normal.
4:18And the fact that anyone is upset by it to any degree at all is
4:23illustrative to me of how Democrats have lost normalcy and men, white, black, Asian, and
4:29Hispanic in particular in America, they are angry over something that's been happening for generations
4:35that I frankly don't think a single person would be angry about here if we
4:40had a Democrat in office and they had been congratulating the United States.
4:44In fact, it would be the most normal thing a Democrat politician had done in
4:49a decade or more. But this is what happens when you lose the culture.
4:53You start flailing and looking ridiculous and lose even more of the culture.
4:57Do you sense this? I just, I got to tell you, I am super optimistic
5:01about the overall trend lines of the country in so many different directions.
5:06But most importantly, in the terms of this story, the degree to which young, particularly
5:12male athletes are over the woke BS and want to be proud of America again,
5:18the hockey team perfectly embodies, I believe, the spirit that is taking over the country
5:22when it comes to young men.
5:25We had a couple of our team, Clay, as you know, our team on radio.
5:30Yeah, I heard the talkbacks.
5:32Who were just walking around on cloud nine.
5:34Producer Mark, Producer Greg, you know, a little bit of chin -wagging around the office
5:38after their beloved New York, I mean, not New York, United States national hockey team
5:45came up with the big gold medal.
5:47So we have some, because we have some, they're diehard hockey guys, just so you
5:50know. So I want you to know that there is representation in Clay and Buck
5:53World for the diehard hockey fans.
5:55I have not watched a hockey game.
5:58I don't know. Did you even know that, I think you said yesterday, because I
6:01heard the open before I hopped a flight, I think you said that you did
6:04not even know the gold medal hockey game was taking place on Sunday morning.
6:08Is that accurate? I was unaware.
6:11Yeah, so. But see, I'm upfront about this.
6:13This is why I had them weigh in.
6:15I didn't want our hockey fans listening to feel like their love of hockey was.
6:20So we have hockey super fans.
6:22I think they show up wearing hockey jerseys half the time to work.
6:26They love hockey. I love that you explained your lack of hockey knowledge yesterday.
6:30It was funny listening. You said that your helmet didn't fit in first grade, and
6:35so you therefore abandoned a career in hockey?
6:38It was too small. My head was too, they needed to get me adult size
6:41helmets when I was like eight or something.
6:43My head is huge. And, you know, the doctor pulled me in recently for my
6:47son, who's the cutest little baby, we love him so much, and he's like, you
6:51know, your son has a head in the 99 .6 percentile of size for his
6:55age, right? And I said, Doc, this is not a surprise.
6:58That's actually a tough blow for Kerry, more so than for you.
7:03But here is the other thing that I thought I was listening to you, and
7:09I saw him last night.
7:10Jack Hughes still hasn't got his teeth fixed.
7:12Buck, if you told me that I was going to lose a front tooth and
7:16part of my teeth were going to get knocked out, I would be curled up
7:20in the fetal position for a week.
7:23The idea that you get your teeth knocked out and then score the winning goal,
7:28these dudes are a different breed.
7:31And then you're still out two days later.
7:34You probably haven't slept since you won the hockey game.
7:36You flew all the way back from Italy.
7:38You're out in Miami. You're going to be at the State of the Union here.
7:41You're still haven't got the teeth fixed.
7:43Doesn't that hurt? Wouldn't you think?
7:45Like, even drinking a beer or anything at all, the whole teeth thing, I don't
7:52think I could play hockey because as soon as you told me, hey, you have
7:55a good chance to lose a tooth doing this, I'm like, I'm out.
7:59I'm sorry. That is not the sport for me.
8:01That is too tough. And to continue playing after you lose a tooth is next
8:07level. These guys are just tough.
8:10And I think a lot of Americans are, even if they're like me and they're
8:15not necessarily diehard hockey fans, I don't pay a ton of attention to hockey on
8:20a regular basis. I think these teams, the men in particular, but also the women
8:25have won the hearts and minds of America.
8:28And I do think it's culturally significant just how much of an impact they're having
8:33right now. Now, why aren't the women going to the White House?
8:38You're, you know, you know, I'm sorry.
8:41Here's the thing. I think they, so we got a couple of things going on
8:44here. You got Trump made a little joke, a little joke.
8:49It is actually a funny joke.
8:51Okay. Whatever you said, the fact that he said, if the women don't come to,
8:54I'll get impeached is a funny joke about the fact that they're going to come
8:59visit too. It's very Trump.
9:01There are people who are claiming that they are outraged as feminists.
9:06And my question for those feminists would be, if you're going to be outraged about
9:10a joke, isn't the biggest joke of all that you're letting men, that is men
9:14with penises, win women's championships?
9:16If you had to be outraged by a joke, wouldn't you be outraged by the
9:20joke that men are pretending to be women as opposed to President Trump making a
9:24very slight joke about the fact that he has to treat everyone equally or else
9:29they'll be mad at him?
9:30And the joke about treating everyone equally or else they would be mad at him
9:34has actually gotten all the people who are perpetually offended offended by him.
9:39It was like a dad joke in terms of gentleness.
9:42It was a very, there was nothing, people were like, it was misogynistic, like this
9:48is the least, I don't know, I don't want to say this is the least
9:50misogynistic joke Trump's ever made, maybe, but there was nothing about it that should have
9:56been upsetting to anybody. But it does raise the issue of like, you know, I
10:00will tell you, when I was in college, I discovered women's hockey.
10:03And I discovered women's hockey because there was one rather attractive lady on the women's
10:09hockey team who asked me to come watch her game once and I said I
10:12would do so. And then I went and I just was watching, it was like
10:16watching people skate around on ice and then when they would go close to each
10:21other and I was waiting for the kapow and the whole thing, they just sort
10:24of swerve away from each other very gently, very nicely.
10:28Not exactly the same sport, Clay.
10:31It's a different vibe on the women's hockey rink.
10:34And by the way, the speed is different and since we are incredibly foremost defenders
10:41of women's sports as well here, you have actually pointed out sometimes that can lead
10:46to a more aesthetically pleasing version of the game.
10:48For instance, tennis is because men is all power.
10:52So much of the men's game is huge serve, very short points, whereas women in
10:58general tend to have longer rallies.
11:01If you can try to pattern your tennis game as like a recreational male player
11:06against the number like 100 woman in the world, who, by the way, is obviously
11:10way, way better than you, but you can at least try to pretend that you're
11:13not watching Andy Roddick or Murat Safin or Federer play tennis is a different sport
11:20than what normal people play.
11:22Like it's a different level of speed and pace and everything else.
11:26But this is indicative of what left wingers are saying.
11:30This is someone named Sarah something, but she has, let's see, an audience of around
11:37100 ,000 people on Twitter.
11:39If anyone regrets laughing along to a stupid joke, just know there's still time to
11:44speak up. The world is watching.
11:46Your daughters are watching. It would mean a lot to be the person who spoke
11:51up. Have you ever thought to yourself, I like someone who apologized for laughing at
11:58a joke? Have you ever liked someone more because they said that?
12:02This whole, this is so ridiculous.
12:05This whole idea. I could even say something.
12:07I've never been angry at anyone.
12:10Go ahead. No, I was just going to say, I've never heard anyone apologize for
12:15an honest reaction and thought better of them.
12:17I'm sorry I laughed at a joke is the lamest thing you could ever do
12:22on the planet. Oh, yeah.
12:25Well, I was going to say, I've never been angry at anything that has ever
12:29been said that I found truly funny.
12:32Like, it's never actually made me mad if it was legitimately funny to the point
12:36where even when people have really ripped on me, randos on the Internet and stuff,
12:42if it's funny, it doesn't really bother me.
12:45Even if it's very mean, I just look, I've said this for a long time.
12:50I've written it in books, and I would encourage all of you out there.
12:53This is how you win culture.
12:55Be the party that likes jokes, even if sometimes the jokes are offensive, even if
13:01sometimes the word choice of a joke is not the one that you would have
13:05picked. No one wins culture by being perpetually offended by jokes, and I think Republicans
13:12have, and I think in general, have done a good job of sometimes accepting that
13:18they are the butt of the joke and moving on because much of popular culture
13:23is just people on late night talk shows who should be telling jokes, deciding to
13:29react histrionically to things that are not actually that serious.
13:34Like, let's play that. Well, we'll play some of these cuts because if you're out
13:38there and you're saying, OK, Clay, I don't believe you.
13:41I don't think left wingers are losing their mind over a hockey team and jokes
13:45from President Trump. We've got Don Lemon.
13:49We've got the former director of the FBI.
13:52We've got one of the senators out there in Oregon.
13:56We've got the entire view, and we've got Jon Stewart and Jake Tapper all claiming
14:02to be upset. By things relating to the U .S.
14:06men's hockey team for their substantial left wing audiences.
14:10So this is real. They are losers.
14:12They should be mocked, and we will have a lot of fun doing so on
14:16the program today, among other things, as it is State of the Union Day.
14:20And I am excited to see, will Democrats stay seated when the gold medal winning
14:25U .S. men's hockey team shows up at the State of the Union because they
14:29are so desperately offended over the fact that there were jokes made and that the
14:34women have elected not to show up?
14:36Which, by the way, I think is a poor choice by them, frankly, because I
14:41do think that if they were to show up, they would be well -received.
14:45And this is one of those things that I don't think is very complicated.
14:48It's, hey, if you get the opportunity to meet the president, if you get the
14:51opportunity to go State of the Union, I think you should go, period, no matter
14:55who the president is. But if you've been dealing with the bomb cyclone, Buck, have
14:59you seen how much snow fell?
15:01The Providence, Rhode Island, got three feet of snow in this blizzard that hit.
15:06I think New York City got nearly two feet.
15:08Different parts of the metro area definitely got over two feet.
15:12Maybe you're thinking, I just want to be warm.
15:14And if you just want to be warm, that's what Cozy Earth is all about,

16:53We have a talkback. We got the sports accuracy police coming after our own Clay
16:59Travis. That's what it sounds like when they pull him over.
17:04Unidentified listener, WOR Radio. This is Talkback D.
17:07Hit it. Guys, Clay, you need to get this right as the sports guy.
17:11I'm pretty sure even Buck would have gotten it correct that the U .S.
17:15hockey team did not beat the Soviet Union in 1980 to win the gold medal.
17:20They beat Finland. I don't, I, we beat.
17:25First of all, I definitely, I still don't know the answer to this, so I
17:28definitely wouldn't have gotten this right.
17:29What's he saying? So was it like the, I think the semifinal game may well
17:33have been the Soviet Union win and then we had to come back and beat
17:38Finland in the title game.
17:39So I apologize to everybody out there for getting that wrong.
17:43The point is the big upset was beating the, the Soviet Union.
17:48Now you got to then show up the next game and also perform at a
17:53high level. My point on that story was Mondale was in the locker room congratulating
18:00everybody and he was a Democrat and it was totally normal.
18:03Uh, the fact that Kash Patel representing the administration called President Trump is actually what
18:10has been going on for generations.
18:12Now Kamala probably wouldn't have even known the game was going on, which is why
18:16she and Buck made a great tandem when he was reading 107 days.
18:20Uh, the tremendous story of Kamala's illustrious 2024.
18:24When she, when she probably does run for president, my, my role as comologist is
18:28going to be, I'm going to have to give up that title because I will
18:31have missed the, uh, she might write a new book and you might have to
18:34read that one too. Well, that should be my penance actually instead of, but you
18:38don't need me to buy you a steak.
18:39I'll just write a, I'll just have to read another, read another Kamala book.
18:43It's so brutal. It's so wrong.
18:45All right. Call it a cash savings, call it a windfall in your favor, whatever
18:49you want. Just know that you can pay less for your cell phone service and
18:53still have the same quality switch to pure talk, save as much as $70 or
18:57more a month. Your savings can add up to $800 or more per year.
19:00If your current cell phone companies, AT &T, T -Mobile or Verizon, make the switch
19:04and save the money while not sacrificing any quality pure talk services on the same
19:09towers and networks. So it's the exact same 5g nationwide service for $25 a month.
19:14Pure talk gives you unlimited talk, texts, and plenty of data.
19:16Pure talk is an American wireless company with an all U S only customer service
19:20team. When you call, you're talking to someone right here in the U S and
19:24that member of the team is going to help you switch over in as little
19:26as 10 minutes, no contract, no cancellation fee either.
19:29Just dial pound two 50, say the keywords clay and buck.
19:32You'll get 50 % off your first month.
19:34Again, dial pound two five zero say clay and buck to make the switch to
19:38pure talk. Okay. Let's have some fun.
19:40The U S men's team hockey has officially taken off to travel to president Trump
19:45state of the union from Miami.
19:48Uh, and the left wing media is wait, wait, wait, can we, can we, can
19:53we, before we, I'm going to jump in, uh, you're going to do the left
19:56wing media thing. Clay, we have a mission critical talk back here from Alison who
20:01listens in Los Angeles on K E I B the Patriot mission critical.
20:06We have, I haven't seen it.
20:07Okay. Uh, this is, this is, uh, E from Alison in Los Angeles.
20:11Hit it. This is Alison from LA.
20:14Um, I'm very jealous that, uh, clay got to be at the nightclub with the
20:18hockey team. Um, but do you, do you really expect us to believe it was
20:22a coincidence that you were in Miami for advertising and you just happen to end
20:26up at the same nightclub as U S men's hockey team?
20:29Is that what you're trying to tell us?
20:31I got a point clay.
20:33I said, you're on a special mission yesterday and your special mission for business ends
20:39up with you in a nightclub surrounded by go -go dancers and the U S
20:44men's gold champion hockey team.
20:47This is a big coincidence.
20:49I'm just saying it's a big coincidence.
20:51I understand that some may not believe this to be true.
20:54I agreed a week ago that I was going to be in meetings in South
21:00Florida with a potential advertiser joining, uh, our team.
21:05And then I didn't even know that we were scheduled, that they had gotten a
21:10table at the nightclub with the U S men until it was already into the
21:17meetings. I knew we were going to dinner, went out to dinner and they said,
21:22and Oh, by the way, we've got a table next to the U S men's
21:25hockey team tonight and they are celebrating their gold medal.
21:30And we figured you probably would want to go to that.
21:33And to which I said, yes, I, you know, sold, you know, me well, but
21:38this was cause the U S men didn't win until Sunday.
21:41So I, and then, then Buck, this is true.
21:44Do you know, this, the only reason they landed in Miami?
21:47Miami. was because the New York City storm was so bad that they decided to
21:53reroute them from New York City to Miami.
21:56Now, that's one of the greatest reroutings of all time.
21:59We're going to go to Miami to celebrate our gold medal.
22:03I also think, Buck, as I was watching all these kids, I mean, a lot
22:08younger than me, singing along to all the patriotic songs, you live in Miami now?
22:12I think there is a very strong argument that Miami has replaced New York and
22:18L .A. as the cultural capital of the United States.
22:22Now, Nashville is up there pretty high, too.
22:25But when we were kids, New York and L .A.
22:28was where everything happened. It was this proverbial straw that stirred the drink for American
22:33culture. I think it's now Miami.
22:36You live there, so you're so close to it.
22:38But we were talking off air about the fact that Miami has more billionaires.
22:42There are more businesses relocating to Miami, all these different things.
22:46And then I would argue the nightclub that these guys went to, 11, is probably,
22:52outside of Las Vegas, the biggest nightclub in America.
22:55Miami, to me, feels like the cultural center of America now in a way that
22:59in the 90s and early 2000s New York and L .A.
23:02were. Crazy take or you buy in?
23:05It's increasingly true. I think it's in process of being.
23:08And I would really say more South Florida, the whole corridor from Palm Beach.
23:14I mean, look, Palm Beach is the home of the Southern White House.
23:17So start with that. And that's a huge gathering point now for cultural and political
23:24events and the biggest names and all that.
23:26And then you go all the way down into Miami.
23:31And really, Miami, a lot of people think of Miami, what they mean is Miami
23:35Beach. Although, in the case of the nightclub, for example, that's Miami proper.
23:39And it is transforming. It's changing very rapidly.
23:42Before any of you start asking, no, Clay did not even ask me if I
23:45wanted to go to the nightclub.
23:46And that's okay because Clay would have known that I was in my pajamas at
23:518 .45 p .m. with the lights out by night.
23:53I actually thought about it.
23:56I was going to text you, hey, do you want to come to 11?
23:59By the time I knew we were going to 11, it was after 10.
24:03And I legitimately thought, Buck has been asleep for an hour already.
24:07That would have been, that was an accurate, you know me well, sir.
24:10We spend 15 hours a week talking.
24:12I assure you. Also, I was kind of recovering yesterday.
24:15I was drinking Pedialyte. So, I mean, it was a rough day for me.
24:18But, yeah, I was in bed by 8 .45 p .m.
24:22yesterday. As soon as I got, I was telling you this off air, as soon
24:26as I got to the club from the dinner, went to Joe's Crab Shack, by
24:29the way, great place, iconic 100 -year -old restaurant down in Miami Beach.
24:33They took care of us.
24:33We got a lot of listeners in that audience and in the wait staff.
24:38It was awesome. As soon as I got to outside the club, the number of
24:44girls, at first it was what, like 50 degrees, 45 degrees in Miami last night?
24:48People were just panicked over how cold it was.
24:51It was shockingly cold for Miami.
24:53For the rest of you, it would have been a balmy T -shirt day.
24:56But, yes, in Miami it was cold.
24:58Places swarmed. I mean, it's Monday night, 11.
25:02Everybody knew, evidently, that the U .S.
25:04men's team was there. It had gotten out publicly.
25:07There are probably 500 girls wearing no clothes at all, trying to get into the
25:14nightclub effectively, so that they can get close to the U .S.
25:18men. They're also simultaneously, so lots of pretty girls trying to get in.
25:22Tons of dudes in their hockey jerseys, which I guarantee you that's probably the number
25:27one hockey jersey night of all time.
25:30Tons of guys because they want to go celebrate with the U .S.
25:33team. And, again, everybody sings the national anthem.
25:36Everybody sings Toby Keith. Everybody sings Lee Greenwood.
25:41It was, if you haven't seen those videos and you want to have a smile
25:45on your face, trust me, go check these out on social media.
25:49But that doesn't mean left -wing media hasn't lost their mind over this.
25:53Here's our good friend Don Lemon, currently, I think, out on parole or whatever the
25:57heck it is, saying, I don't understand why anyone would want to be anywhere near
26:01President Trump. Cut four. I don't understand why anyone would want to be in the
26:06vicinity of this president at all, just being honest.
26:09If they'd call him the phone call, I would say, no thanks.
26:11Do you want to take the call?
26:12No. Tell him to call someone else.
26:14I'm not interested in being part of this.
26:16I'm not interested in being part of this when he doesn't, he is not a
26:19patriot and he doesn't care about this country.
26:21He doesn't care about the people of this country.
26:23He certainly doesn't. If you look at the citizens who are being rounded up, if
26:26you look at what he's doing to the economy, what he's done to health care,
26:29he doesn't care about this country.
26:30So why should I be smiling and kiki -ing?
26:33No. Not interested. I'll go party and celebrate somewhere else.
26:36I'll wait until I get home to go and party and celebrate with my family.
26:40And maybe like a real president.
26:41Maybe one day Barack Obama will come to our games.
26:46I mean, that's a perfect ending.
26:48A real president. Maybe Barack Obama will want to go to a game.
26:53Here's the view, not to be outdone.
26:55Super upset that Kash Patel, who again was the highest ranking member of the administration
27:01at the game and went into the locker room to call the president of the
27:06United States so he could congratulate the team.
27:09The view, man, they are super upset about Kash Patel cut seven.
27:13I don't know what Kash Patel was doing there.
27:15I don't know what Kash Patel was doing there.
27:15He was chugging beer. Honey, you know, you're not playing.
27:18You're not, you know, and he's behaving like a member of Animal House on that
27:22show. Beyond the money, it's the optics for me, because I'm a little old school.
27:26But I like when the law enforcement and directors of FBI were, like, serious and,
27:31like, borderline boring. Like, I don't want to see them.
27:33I want to know they're hard at work because there's so much going on.
27:36Today we wake up hearing about the head of a Mexican cartel being killed.
27:40And we know that there was a shooting and someone died at Mar -a -Lago
27:44over the weekend. Guthrie is still missing.
27:46Nancy Guthrie is missing. There's just right now the world doesn't feel settled or stable.
27:51And you've got the head of the FBI and the visual of chugging a beer
27:56in a locker room. I would point out, Buck, that we just hit 125 -year
28:01low for violent crime murders in the United States.
28:05Kind of an important thing.
28:07And the idea that you can't, this is the lead story on MSNBC right now.
28:12Kash Patel celebrating in the locker room.
28:15The fact that, you know this, everyone out there who has a job such as
28:20this knows, Kash Patel is working everywhere he is.
28:24This is not 1964 when, if you're in Italy, you can't be reached and nobody
28:29has any idea what's going on and you're on a vacation.
28:32I mean, he is able to work anywhere he is in the world.
28:36So the fact that he took a break and watched a two -hour hockey game
28:41and then went and celebrated with the U .S.
28:44men, I think this is just indicative of how they've lost normal people.
28:49Right? Normal dudes look at this and say, yeah, that's kind of the way that
28:54I think, you know, I would want people to celebrate American exceptionalism.
29:01And so right now our buddy Jim Jordan is being grilled on CNN about Kash
29:06Patel being in the locker room after the game.
29:08I can't believe this is the hill Democrats have decided to plant their flag on
29:13right after we won a gold medal.
29:16They're just malcontents, man. Honestly, they're just so upset about everything that Trump is doing
29:20that they can't even be happy for something that really, look, the U .S.
29:25gold team win by the men and the women, it has nothing to do with
29:30Trump. It really is about an American achievement.
29:33These are Americans that are on these teams.
29:35And so you would think that an emotionally healthy person, no matter what they think
29:40of our current political situation in this country, look, we don't have people at all.
29:45We don't have, like, the end of the world going on here, okay?
29:48I mean, it's like the country's actually doing great.
29:51And you would think they could separate this and just look at this as a
29:55moment of Americanness. And I will say this, you know, the moment when a very
30:01different kind of win, but when SEAL Team 6 took out Osama bin Laden and
30:05it was on Barack Hussein Obama's watch, people were cheering, people were chanting USA, and
30:13there was just a general feeling of this was justice done for America, and it
30:18wasn't, oh, but Obama did it, so I'm going to sort of downplay this.
30:22I know that's very different.
30:23That's a national security thing.
30:24And post 9 -11 it was.
30:25But I'm just saying there are some things that should be able to go beyond,
30:29in the moment, go beyond that partisan impulse.
30:34Not for Democrats, not anymore, not under Trump, unfortunately.
30:36I think that they're so broken over this stuff that everything is.
30:40And I also think it's funny, too, that they can't be happy for the gold
30:43medal team, but they also want to tell us that the bad bunny is not
30:48political during the Super Bowl, right?
30:50It's like they pick and choose what do we have to have political conversations about
30:55that's not political, and what do we, they're just mad about everything all the time.
30:59Yeah, and also, the Olympics matter because it is a celebration of exceptionalism.
31:06And the fact that we set an all -time record for Winter Olympic gold medals
31:12this Olympic cycle, 12, breaking the 2002 record, I do think it's significant.
31:18And for those of you out there who remember the 1980s, 90s, early 2000s, people
31:24sat around cheering USA, USA.
31:26Now, this kind of ties in.
31:28Remember when the New York Times had the editorial from one of their editorial board
31:32members about how uncomfortable Long Island made her because there were too many American flags
31:38when she went outside of New York City?
31:40That when she drove around in communities, people were too prideful to be American?
31:47You should be prideful to be a citizen of the greatest country that's ever existed
31:51in the history of the world.
31:52And I think one reason why the vast majority of Americans are reacting well to
31:57the U .S. men is because of the answers to questions when people say, yeah,
32:02I'm super proud to represent the country because this is the greatest country that's ever
32:06existed. And they put every ounce of their toughness and ability on the line and
32:12triumph. And that is, to me, the essence of American DNA is a steadfast toughness
32:20that leads to victory even in the face of improbable and often overwhelming opposition.
32:28And so in that way, the Olympic victory is a metaphor for the larger success
32:34of this country. And I think that upsets a lot of people on the left
32:37who want this country's story to be one of meek fragility as opposed to...
32:43strong, steadfast, iron -willed exceptionalism.
32:46And that's why they're so outraged by this victory, which I love.
32:51And still, every time I see a replay of that goal, I can't help but
32:55just think, what a badass win.
32:57What an awesome, signifying stand -in for the country.
33:03We made American hockey great again.
33:05Maybe we can make the country great again.
33:06Did you ever even try to play hockey?
33:07Have you ever been on the ice with a stick and tried to do hockey?
33:10Well, we only had one ice rink in Nashville when I was a kid growing
33:14up. Now, my kids did a hockey training for young kids because they were interested.
33:22We now have an NHL team here.
33:24Laura, my wife, knows all about hockey because she grew up in the Detroit area,
33:27and hockey is the sport of Michigan.
33:31But no, prior to marrying her, I rarely paid attention to hockey, and obviously we
33:36didn't grow up with it here.
33:38I like to watch sometimes the playoffs, but it's one of the few sports where
33:41I legitimately have no experience whatsoever with watching.
33:48If you're living through the latest winter blizzard, how valuable would it be to have
33:53a backup communication device? You want rapid radios.
33:56These are sturdy, modern -day walkie -talkies and work with just one push of a
34:00button. Quick and easy communication when the power goes out.

35:26T's and C's apply. Welcome back into Clay and Buck.
35:29We love celebrating big wins for America.
35:32That's for sure. We love celebrating big wins for America, and so that was one
35:36for this week. Look, you got to allow yourself to have fun, too.
35:41One thing that I hear from honest libs about their interactions with people, whether it's
35:46Clay, me, people that do what we do at this level, is they'll say things,
35:50and Bill Maher actually said this to me very directly once.
35:53He said, you and a lot of those like you, you guys are happy warriors.
35:56You know, you're in this fight, but you also will take the time.
35:59Leftists, honestly, they're just a miserable bunch, and nothing can be fun, and I think
36:04you see that even with like Cash Patel partying in the locker room, or the
36:09gold medal, or nothing that's fun.
36:11Eh, there's misogyny. Eh, there's just, it's a mindset.
36:14It's a mindset. They don't laugh.
36:17They don't have joy. You know, you can be, you know, you can be a
36:20warrior and have lots of joy in your life at the same time.
36:24In fact, that's the proper way to be a warrior.
36:26Kathy in Milwaukee wants to weigh in on this.
36:28Thank you, Kathy. What's up?
36:30Oh, hey, thank you. Okay.
36:33You know, I love hockey.
36:34I love hockey. I've been seeing hockey games since the 70s.
36:39They can't be happy that the USA won a gold medal, and they have to
36:44rip on Cash Patel because he's enjoying and having a happy, great moment in the
36:51history of the United States.
36:54They make this sick. Yeah, it's crazy.
36:56Thank you for the call, Kathy.
36:58I'm with you. They're telling on themselves, to Buck's point, they're very unhappy people, and
37:03if you don't like the President of the United States calling to congratulate our men
37:11who just pulled off a phenomenal victory for the first time in 46 years while
37:17representing our country, I mean, look, I think most of you out there, you may
37:22not like Barack Obama. You may not like Bill Clinton.
37:25I don't know that Joe Biden would have been awake and able to make the
37:27call, but the President, in my opinion, when an Olympic victory like this happens, I
37:33think he should call. Whether he's a Democrat, Republican, because American exceptionalism and our success
37:40on the global stage is, again, an important symbol of America's success around the world.
37:46I just, it's crazy. You remember that line from Band of Brothers where the main
37:51character, he's dealing with the punk guy, and he goes, you salute the office, not
37:56the man. Or salute the rank, rather, not the man.
37:59Same thing with the President, with the office.
