3:15as we head into what should be a great weekend.

3:22It is an official sign for many parts of the country that spring has sprung.

3:27We will give you the absolute latest on the U .S.-Iran situation.

3:32Artemis 2 scheduled for a splashdown landing off the coast of San Diego.

3:39Our buddy Ryan Gerdusky going to join us at one to talk about a bunch

3:43of different topics, including this data coming out that nobody's having babies anymore, which is

3:50frankly kind of alarming. Much of Western civilization, the population is collapsing.

3:56Nobody really to a large extent is talking about it.

3:59The existential threat to America and the world, it likely is turning out, is not

4:06going to be climate change or global warming.

4:08It's going to be a bunch of people just deciding not to have babies and

4:12the population collapsing as a result.

4:15We will talk about all that and more, but we begin with the biggest news,

4:20which is high -stakes negotiations that are poised to take place in Pakistan over the

4:26weekend, and Vice President J .D.

4:29Vance is leading that charge, and he took off earlier today, I think it was

4:34actually maybe even last night, for the Iran negotiations in Pakistan, and this is what

4:40he said right before he got on the plane to begin that trip cut for.

4:46We're looking forward to the negotiation.

4:47I think it's going to be positive.

4:48We'll foresee. As the President of the United States said, if the Iranians are willing

4:53to negotiate in good faith, we're certainly willing to extend the open hand.

4:56If they're going to try to play us, then they're going to find that the

4:59negotiating team is not that receptive.

5:01So we're going to try to have a positive negotiation.

5:03The President has gave us some pretty clear guidelines, and we're going to see.

5:08All right, so update on the markets, the Dow down a small amount, S &P

5:14500 when I last checked up a small amount, not a lot of movement, oil

5:18and gas has stabilized, dropped substantially during the course of this week, and has since

5:24kind of... danced around that $100 mark.

5:29Buck, are you optimistic at all for these negotiations that are going to take place

5:35in Pakistan? What do you expect, if anything?

5:39Let's predict, if we were coming back on Monday, what does our conversation look like

5:44with these negotiations, in theory, beginning on Saturday?

5:49I think I know your answer already, but I'm just going to allow you to

5:53Debbie Downer us all as we begin the program here on a beautiful spring Friday.

5:58I cannot tell a lie.

6:00As you all know, there's not going to be a deal.

6:04There's going to be a deal to continue figuring out what the deal looks like.

6:12And this is Iranian bob and weave.

6:17This is float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, Middle East style.

6:22This is exactly what they have been doing all along.

6:27And I'm going to say this.

6:28I am, I guess, obviously pessimistic about the chance of us being negotiated to a

6:34conclusion, but I am hopeful.

6:37And this is one of these ones where I would love it.

6:39I will be smiling ear to ear on this show and taking the proverbial paddle

6:48and saying, thank you, sir, may I have another, if I'm wrong on this one.

6:52Some of you will catch the reference to Animal House.

6:55It is absolutely the case that the Iranians, I think, I should say, in my

7:03view, it's absolutely the case that the Iranians view this as now a delay game.

7:09And they're using the price of oil and our political considerations as their leverage.

7:15Clay, the Strait of Hormuz is not open.

7:20That was the big thing here.

7:22It's a little open. It's a little open.

7:24It's not open. I think they're saying 10 % of the expected traffic through Hormuz

7:32is going through. And guess who is getting waved on through?

7:36Russia, China, friendlies to Iran.

7:39And they may be paying crypto.

7:41They may be paying tolls we don't even know about, just to be clear about

7:44this. I don't think that's happening.

7:46I think Russia and China would be like, you really don't want to mess with

7:48us too. But who knows, right?

7:51Who knows? So I am hopeful that this is J .D.

7:56Vance and Jared Kushner's shining moment.

7:58Now, what may happen is the deadline will pass in two weeks.

8:01We start bombing them again for a few days.

8:06We have press conferences from the Pentagon saying, look at how much we can kick

8:10their ass. And then we go, okay, another ceasefire.

8:14You guys want to talk?

8:15And the Iranians are like, oh, fine, fine.

8:18We're willing to talk. And so on and so forth.

8:21And again, like I said, I am hopeful I am wrong on this one.

8:24But I do not see, Clay, if the strait is not open right now, what

8:28exactly have we gotten in the ceasefire?

8:31And the strait is not open right now.

8:33And no one seems to want to talk about that.

8:35I will think this is all very...

8:42I'm sorry. Look, I think the number one thing is the strait of Hormuz being

8:45officially open and Iran eliminating its desire potentially to blow up freighters filled with oil.

8:56So here's something I don't hear anybody talking about.

8:59And this is not Debbie Downer.

9:01This is Debbie Realistic. There's a lot of big -time Trump donors that are thrilled

9:06with what the price of oil and gas is right now.

9:11So think about this. If you are, and there are a bunch of Texans listening

9:16to us right now, if you are in Texas, you are thrilled with what the

9:22price of oil and gas is right now.

9:24$50 a barrel, it's hard to make money.

9:27$60 a barrel, there's tiny little profit margin.

9:31$100 a barrel of gas, there are people that are going to be having champagne

9:36toast going on while they kick back and watch the Masters all over Texas this

9:40weekend as long as these prices remain higher.

9:43The reason why I bring it up is there is a little bit of a

9:46disconnect between what the average consumer thinks the price of oil and gas should be

9:52and what oil and gas producers think the price of oil and gas can be.

9:56And the calculus on this is very different than it was in the 1990s when

10:02we had to import all of our oil and gas into this country in order

10:07to be able to take care of everything.

10:10Now we're net exporters, and so it's a different kind.

10:14So I'm just saying... Wait, wait, wait, hold on, hold on.

10:16Do you think Trump doesn't want the straight?

10:18You're saying there are a lot of Trump donors who want the gas price high,

10:21so they like this congestion.

10:23Are you saying Trump doesn't want the straight open?

10:24I'm a little confused now.

10:26Well, I'm saying I'm not sure that the straight being 100 % open is a

10:34universal goal of every part of the Trump coalition.

10:37Well, sure, but what's Trump's goal?

10:39Trump's goal, I think, is to get oil and gas down to...

10:43There's been a dispute over this for a while.

10:45He thinks the ideal price is $50 a barrel.

10:47Well, the Texas guys, maybe some of you can call in...

10:52Can we get some... I was going to say, can we get somebody to put

10:54your Stetson down for a second here?

10:56Pick up your phone, Texans who work in oil and gas, and let us know

11:00what's going on. Yeah, actually, I would love that.

11:02You don't have to give us your official designation, but if you are listening to

11:06us right now and you are involved in American oil and gas, here's another point,

11:09Buck. Yeah, you don't have to call in and say, my name is John Smith.

11:12I'm a senior VP at Exxon.

11:14I work in this office.

11:15You can just call in and be like, this is John.

11:16I know what I'm talking about.

11:17And I just bought a Picasso because in the last month I made an extra

11:21$100 million because the barrel of gas doubled.

11:24But I do think this.

11:26Here's another stat, Buck, that I was reading.

11:28I've been doing a bunch of research on oil and gas because I'm fascinated by

11:31this entire industry. You know that California, which is trying to say, hey, we're all

11:37into clean oil and gas and we're going to be the green news.

11:41You know that 29 % of California's gas is imported according to the Wall Street

11:48Journal and comes through the Strait of Hormuz?

11:51Hormuz infinitely more than any other state in the United States.

11:55Did you know this? I had no idea.

11:57It's a tiny percentage of oil and gas that ultimately ends up in the United

12:02States that transits through the Strait of Hormuz.

12:06California, I believe, I'm going to pull up that stat and we'll share that article.

12:09I was reading, California imports about 29 % of its overall oil and gas from

12:16the Strait of Hormuz. So right now, if you are listening to us in California,

12:21your entire basis for the Green New Deal and everything else, in addition to the

12:27fact that you have to pay way more to fill up your cars and your

12:31trucks, which is infuriating, I would imagine.

12:34But, Buck, they are actually bringing in, the California dollars are actually going to these

12:43Middle Eastern countries as opposed to staying here at home because California has tons of

12:49oil and gas that they're not deciding to come through.

12:51It's funny about the oil markets and everything and it's very interesting and, you know,

12:54you really also could run a stock market, like, you're very into this stuff.

12:58You could be sitting there with Kramer.

13:00I honestly think you're probably better than Kramer.

13:02No offense. Well, actually, no offense to Kramer.

13:03You could be doing this stuff.

13:05He's wrong on everything. If I'm just right about a little bit, I could probably

13:07do better. But on this issue of where we are with ending the Iran war,

13:12not how people in Texas may feel about it if they happen to have a

13:15lot of shares of Exxon or Texaco or whatever.

13:18I know there's been all these mergers I can't even remember.

13:21Does Trump feel good about where things are right now?

13:24Do you think that the administration feels like this is where things are supposed to

13:27be? I checked this morning.

13:28Ten percent. There are thousands of ships that are still bottled up.

13:32Ten percent of the strait traffic is happening.

13:35And Iran is claiming now the right for national security purposes to inspect and deter

13:40any ships coming into the strait that it wants.

13:43No, he wants the strait to be clear and open.

13:46And I do think that the overall precedent being set of.

13:52Open bodies of water, which is a global trade perspective position, should not be able

13:58to enact tolls, right? That's different than the Panama Canal or something that is a

14:02manmade shipping creation where you certainly are extracting tolls.

14:08That's the basis for it, just like a toll road versus an interstate that's paid

14:11for. The idea is that this has to be going through.

14:15What I am saying is I do think the politics of this is actually a

14:20bit more complicated. And maybe the pressure is different versus an individual filling up their

14:28oil and gas and the Texas oil men out there.

14:30We got loaded lines from the Texas oil men who are saying this is actually

14:35incredibly good. And it's a different calculus when much of the money is still coming

14:40into this country when we benefit in some ways from a corporate perspective on higher

14:47oil and gas prices. And they want to drill more when prices go up.

14:52Now, this is just big picture.

14:55It's hard to get more oil and gas drilling done when there's $50 a barrel

14:59because it's hard to make money.

15:01At $100 a barrel, they make way more money.

15:03I would bet that the capacity that could be dialed up in the United States

15:08is substantial at those dollar figures.

15:11I just don't hear anybody talking about the fact that the calculus has changed when

15:16it comes to America as a net exporting country.

15:19This is a tremendous success story compared to when we had to bring everything else

15:24in. A lot of those dollars on oil and gas now stay in America and

15:29actually can provide fuel, no pun intended, in a positive direction for the economy.

15:34Now, the downside is obviously individual consumers have to pay more.

15:38But if you look at it on an inflation -adjusted basis, oil and gas is

15:43one of the greatest buys that exists anywhere in the world.

15:46We pay far less now on an inflation -adjusted basis.

15:50You know, oil and gas, I believe, is cheaper than bottled water.

15:54Again, I find all this, and I mean this, I would never be super silliest

15:58when you're doing your financial.

15:59I find all this deeply interesting.

16:01We stop bombing them so they would open the strait, and the strait's not open.

16:05This is the fundamental problem.

16:07I agree in general. What I'm saying is I'm not sure that the political pressure

16:12is as intense on this issue as maybe the general population.

16:18So then the strait doesn't need to be open.

16:21well i think it needs to be open eventually but if it ends up eventually

16:24opening in a month i think that there's a lot of oil and gas people

16:28in texas that would say hey that's fine so the pressure valve isn't as tight

16:32as one that's my argument i got you okay interesting and i may be wrong

16:36but i want to hear from the texas guys and gals what are the chances

16:39one of them is actually named tex by the way extra points if you call

16:42it and you're like i've been an oil man for 40 years my name's tex

16:45i think the oil and gas guys are going to say clay you're the only

16:48person who's actually made this argument in anywhere in media because it is a different

16:53calculus than it was in the 90s and i think not surprised a lot of

16:57media have not caught up with what oil and gas independence and us being a

17:02net exporter actually means when oil and gas prices go up it used to be

17:07we got entirely gouged and we were the victims now we are actually having a

17:13great deal of success china arguably becomes a victim uh the europe becomes a victim

17:18the countries that are not energy independent this is actually what trump has been arguing

17:23for so long we had to create it so just in general and oil and

17:27gas guys y 'all can tell me if i'm totally wrong on this or if

17:31you're saying hallelujah somebody's trying finally pointing out that things are a bit different than

23:15I try really hard to make sure that everyone is as well informed as I

23:18am. Well, absolutely. And this is the thing.

23:28And you're going to know more than a lot of people who think they know

23:31a lot about politics, which is, this is always, I used to tell Ryan this

23:34too. I was like, why do I want to work with Ryan?

23:35Why do I have him on as a guest?

23:40things about politics. You know, I got a lot of people like, I'm a political

23:43consultant. I'm like, well, that guy knows nothing.

23:45Ryan knows a lot. So there's a lot of that, as you know, out there.

23:49Yeah. So let's, we want to talk about this birth data situation, which you did

23:54a piece on recently for your sub stack, which is also excellent.

23:57The national populist newsletter. But first, can I, what is the truth about support for

24:03this Iran situation? I'm sure you've been crunching these numbers too.

24:07Some people say all of, all of Republicans are behind Trump.

24:11Other people say his numbers are in the toilet nationally.

24:14What's really going on? Yeah.

24:16If the numbers are very bad, I mean, for Republicans, and I said this time

24:20and time again, no one was going to care so long as it didn't affect

24:24them at home because they just naturally trust Trump.

24:26But the, but the thing is, is now that gas prices have soared, the numbers

24:30have tanked. The, the, what you're referencing is how does MAGA feel?

24:35And, and it's, I don't like that question in polls because it is, there's nothing

24:39to identify if you are a MAGA Republican or not, aside from you saying so.

24:44So I could look at your voter file and say, you're a man, you're between

24:47this ages, you live in this area, yada, yada, yada.

24:50And that will be a quantifier to say, okay, this person is actually, you know,

24:54telling their details about themselves correctly.

24:56And we could properly wait the poll.

24:58You could be a MAGA Republican today and not a MAGA Republican tomorrow.

25:01And that's what your opinion 10 times over.

25:03It basically says, do you, or do you not support the president?

25:06And among people who say, who say they are MAGA Republican, it is around 90

25:09% among most of these polls.

25:12What you want to look for though, is other indicators of likely Trump voters and

25:17how they feel. So among Republicans and among people who voted for Donald Trump, opposition

25:22or undecidedness, that's the other thing that I look for is if you're undecided about

25:27your opinion about it, that has slowly been climbing.

25:29It was around 12 to 13 % according to the NPR and Washington Post poll

25:34back in March 1st, when this whole conflict began.

25:37By the time you get to the Fox poll and other, another poll since then,

25:41like the Quinnipiac poll, that number climbs about 26%, right?

25:45Among the Trump's most loyal voting bloc, which is whites without a college degree.

25:51Whites without a college degree supported this war at the very beginning by double digits.

25:55In some polls around 55, 56%, according to CNN, the Washington Post and other ones.

26:00There's that support among that demographic, the most important demographic to the Republican coalition.

26:05Opposition has climbed to over 55 % in almost every poll now, especially because of

26:10gas prices and inflation. And once again, a lot of, there's a lot of anxiety

26:14about the economy. And anytime Trump talks about foreign policy and gives a lot of

26:18emphasis, voters feel that he's not paying enough attention about the economy, which is what

26:22they are concerned about. Ryan, it wasn't very long ago that Democrats were saying Minneapolis

26:29is going to be the story for midterms.

26:33No one talks about Minneapolis anymore.

26:36I haven't heard Alex Peretti or Renee Good's name in forever.

26:40I think it was ultimately a sign of just how quickly our news cycle can

26:46move. I don't know when we're going to get a resolution with Iran.

26:49I'm not sure exactly what it's going to be, but I feel like it will

26:52likely happen in the next couple of months, presuming that that occurs.

26:57If we get to June, July, August, which is kind of the summer season where

27:02people tune out, and Trump has managed to turn the conversation back domestically, do you

27:10really think in September, October, November, again, if we get some resolution by Memorial Day,

27:15which i think we will in iran do we really think that we're going to

27:19still be talking about the situation in iran i get that it's bad for trump

27:23if it still is a story but i just feel like stories come and go

27:27so quickly that the reason they made the decision to attack on february 28th was

27:32because they knew by the summer they could pivot back to domestic affairs and whatever

27:38we thought were going to be the big stories for this year they're just gone

27:41and kind of in the waste then so as long as gas prices go down

27:45because that's contingent one people want to go on summer vacation they want to go

27:49to the beach they want to go on holidays gas being four dollars a gallon

27:53is going to really tamper on their summer plans make it a lot harder to

27:57go on vacation have resident has have residual effects on the economy that will be

28:02a negative right also the thing about gas prices it's a it's a you see

28:06a gas price every four blocks wherever you travel in this country it is an

28:09indicator of inflation he really needs gas prices to go down whether that be a

28:13gas tax holiday whether it be more domestic you know reducing our petroleum reserves whatever

28:19the case may be gas prices are going to be really hindering him as they

28:25have every previous president even if you have an electric guitar electric sorry electric guitar

28:30electric car if you have electric car you see gas prices no matter where you

28:35go and you're like wow that's very very high right now that just shows inflation

28:39and what we saw in the latest jobs and wages numbers i came out today

28:42is that it's in because the inflation jumped with gas prices increasing the wage the

28:49the growth in income is being eaten away at higher inflationary costs because of gas

28:55prices so gas prices right ryan can i just have to jump in really quickly

28:59then clay i think has a real question for you but your point about electric

29:02cars not necessarily true because when clay drives by people in his tesla and sees

29:06the price of gas he says haha peasants well to be fair as as with

29:14all things i cover both ends of the spectrum here i have both a tesla

29:18which i love and i would encourage everyone to buy and i'm not being paid

29:22anything for it although we should be paid honestly we need to talk to elon

29:25that we this we should get paid by tesla but and by the way he's

29:30got plenty of money to be paying us i also have an suv so i

29:34only am covering both ends of the spectrum i'm both paying way less and way

29:38more than the average car driver uh but going to your point ryan is there

29:43any data on so early voting will start you know sometime in october most places

29:49right um and then lead into is there any data on let's presume oil prices

29:55are down in october because i think you're right if oil prices are high it's

29:58going to be a negative how much backlog on oil prices again i don't know

30:05what's the average about four dollars and ten cents a gallon or something like that

30:09if i'm not mistaken um and let's say that they're back down around three dollars

30:14ish you know and again every time i say this people are like i pay

30:18okay this is a nationwide average in california you're getting i love how great aunt

30:22ethel is the the one who buys gas every time i mention the price of

30:28anything remember when eggs was a big story i was like well you know eggs

30:32somebody's like i paid this morning uh you know it's like okay it's a nationwide

30:36price everybody is going to pay a little bit different all right so let's say

30:39that the average the average nationwide can be different in california and new york and

30:44florida and texas and tennessee where i am average is three dollars will people still

30:48be angry about gas prices in april may june in other words how long does

30:53gas price anger linger and if it's back down to around three dollars which i

30:58predict it will be in the fall you can grab this one and call me

31:01out if i'm wrong on it um do people still stay angry about what the

31:05price was in april and may i think that if it affects their summer plans

31:10i think that anger boils over into the fall he really has to get it

31:14down in a very very short period of time the window is very very small

31:18it's maybe two months i would say two to two and a half months is

31:21where you want to get down if it is still high in the summer and

31:24they're saying guys guess what we're not going on vacations here because we can't afford

31:27gas which in many places is very high that will be absolutely impactful it also

31:32depends on the places where gas is the highest one of the highest places for

31:36gas right now is alaska four dollars and sixty five cents a gallon according to

31:41uh at triple a alaska has a very very critical u .s senate race in

31:47it that will guarantee that will decide you know how this election plays out for

31:50the u .s senate control the senate so it depends on where also maine is

31:54very high means four dollars and six cents a gallon it depends on where and

31:58it depends on how fast you want to get it down as fast as possible

32:02before it affects people's summer plans and the anger over that and the anger over

32:06anxiety over the economy how long that that you know moves forward so ryan can

34:15This is actually a threat to the future of humanity, not climate change, which has

34:24been the obsession for the last generation.

34:27People are not having babies.

34:29Buck has started to do his part.

34:31He and Kerry have one.

34:32We're working on it. We're going to build out the roster, buddy.

34:35We're working on it. You've got to build out the roster and help save humanity.

34:38I've got three. I legitimately, Ryan, tell my boys now that my favorite kid is

34:44going to be the one that gets married and has the most kids and does

34:48the best job of being a dad because people sometimes like my boys legit roll

34:55their eyes at me over this.

34:57But if you look at the numbers, the number of kids that are being born,

35:01babies are a vote for the future.

35:03I really do believe this.

35:04It's hard to be pessimistic if you've got a young baby in your hands and

35:07you're thinking about the future that they are going to one day be a part

35:11of. And it's incredibly important, obviously, to the furthering of the country.

35:15What's going on here? Yes.

35:18So birth rates are down worldwide.

35:20It's not just an American phenomenon.

35:22Actually, America, for a developed country, is still at the higher end at 1 .57

35:27children per woman. You measure per woman, not per man.

35:30So 1 .57 children per woman.

35:32You need 2 .1 children per woman to meet replacement levels.

35:36What we're seeing in the new CDC data for February 2026 is, one, an indicator

35:43that Trump's immigration crackdown is actually highly effective because among immigrant groups that have more

35:48than 1 ,000 children a month, we're seeing double -digit declines.

35:52I always say fertility is a lagging indicator of immigration enforcement.

35:57In other words, if you're seven months pregnant when Trump came in and you're an

36:00illegal alien, you're going to have the kids who get some American citizenship.

36:02You're not going to flee.

36:03Secondly, as the crackdowns have happened on illegal immigration as people have self -deported, that

36:10number obviously, as time goes on and there's fewer pregnant women, they've had the baby

36:14since Trump became president, there will be less children being pregnant and being born afterwards.

36:19So among immigrants from China, legal and illegal, the number is down 17 .5%.

36:36These are all the groups that have more than 1 ,000 children per month.

36:41So among that, it shows there is clearly an effect of either self -deportation and

36:45mass deportation happening because you're seeing it now in the birth data as well.

36:49The most interesting thing about fertility data that is coming out, it's a story that

36:54no one really is covering, is the massive decline among births happening among Black American

37:00women. 2024 was the very first year that whites had more children on average per

37:06woman than Blacks did in this country.

37:08The numbers in 2025, sorry, sorry, 2026 rather, this year so far, that number is

37:14wildly high. It's an average of 1 .55 for white women and 1 .44 for

37:21Black women. And the drop off on Black women on how many kids they have

37:25is down nearly double digits every single year as a percentage, right?

37:30So in January and February of 2025, Black women gave birth to 76 ,000 children

37:37in this country. In January and February of 2026, it was 70 ,000, down nearly

37:4210%. The percentage of Black children being born in this country is usually between 13

37:47.5 % to 14%. It will be below 12 % by next year, by 2027,

37:53and could by the end of the decade be as low as 10%.

37:56That's a dramatic, dramatic drop in the percentages.

38:00And that's really one of the bigger groups that has led to an overall population.

38:05But their decline is larger than any other group in this country, and no one's

38:10talking. But it is a true cultural phenomenon happening right now.

38:14Why is that happening, Ryan?

38:16Great question. A lot of people talk about abortion.

38:18It's not abortion. Abortion was obviously way more easily more accessible before a road being

38:23overturned. It's two things. A 90 % reduction in teen pregnancy.

38:28Teen pregnancy when I was growing up in the 90s was not super common, but

38:31it was common. You know, you could see it in a lot of places.

38:34Teen pregnancies decline more than 90%.

38:36Actually, it was more common for a woman between 15 and 19 to have a

38:41child than a woman between 20 and 24 to have a child back in the

38:4390s. It is now far less common.

38:46It almost never happens. The second thing is the growth in college applications and women

38:52of black women going to college.

38:54Nothing delays pregnancy and childbearing more than college for women.

38:58And the amount of black women who go to college is substantially larger than it's

39:02ever been. So those are two big cultural phenomenons.

39:05It's also, you know, having a child by accident is rarer and rarer in this

39:09country. We only have one minute left, Ryan.

39:13The data that I saw was women in their 30s are having almost all the

39:17babies now relative to past.

39:19Have we oversold from a data perspective women on abandoning having kids when they're in

39:26their 20s? And also you mentioned teenagers.

39:28And it's just a math equation, right?

39:30Once you get to your 30s, it's harder to get to 2 .1.

39:33Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, you have fewer children and you have them and you have them

39:37later on in life. Absolutely.

39:38You know, Meghan McCain is a friend of mine.

39:41She always says women need to take their fertility as well as seriously as they

39:44take their job. And that's the truth.

39:47You're not – rarely are you a celebrity who has their first kid at 45

39:51years old. If you want to have children, you should plan for that early and

39:55try to have it as early as you possibly can in order to make sure

39:58you have as many as you want.

39:59The number that they want, the number they're having, is very different.

40:02People want more than they're actually having.

40:03Ryan, one last quick thing.

42:06Okay, as we head into the weekend, big story ongoing.

42:11The U .S.-Iran talks in Pakistan scheduled to begin on Saturday.

42:17Artemis 2 going to land off the coast of San Diego.

42:21That is the week -long plus moon navigation that took place starting last week.

42:29And, Buck, we didn't really react to what we talked with our good buddy, Ryan

42:37Gerdusky, who is also a part of the Clay and Buck podcast network, told us.

42:41But I do think it's worth here, as we dive into hour three, having a

42:48little bit of discussion about it.

42:49I was jotting down notes because this has been a widely discussed in some circles

42:55story. But, by and large, it's mostly getting ignored.

42:58The United States' fertility rate has fallen, according to the most recent data, to 1

43:05.5 children per woman. And that is relatively easy to explain because, and the math

43:13is not crazy complicated, women need to average 2 .1 children in order to exceed

43:22replacement level. Again, the math on this is not crazy complicated.

43:27And that is not occurring.

43:29And it's not just happening in the United States.

43:32It is collapsing all around the world at many different elite Western civilizations.

43:38countries, whether it is Japan, which has South Korea, whether it is Italy, and now

43:47obviously the United States, wherever, and certainly much of Europe, if you look at France

43:51and if you look at what's happening in England, all these different countries with great

43:56histories of civilization that have basic human rights, the population is collapsing.

44:01And I don't know if this is ever going to reverse, but if it does

44:07not, then humanity starts to decline in population, Buck, really, really fast.

44:15China is a great example of this, where they're saying by the end of this

44:20century, the Chinese population is going to go from around 1 .4 billion -ish, I

44:26believe where it is right now, to about 650, 700 million.

44:30In other words, before the end of this century, China is going to have half

44:33the population that it does right now.

44:35I was reading a story this morning, Japan is having a huge issue with just

44:39abandoned homes. In Japan right now, huge numbers of homes, because the population has collapsed

44:45to such an extent, they're just abandoned.

44:48Nobody lives there. The government will actually basically give you title to these homes to

44:54be able to live there.

44:56Should we be talking about this more as a real significant issue, and whether or

45:05how we fix it? Well, yes, it's a hugely significant issue, and there's a lot

45:12of factors that all come together, and it's really a pretty new phenomenon in human

45:17history to have both so many women entering the workforce, delaying childbearing, these very well

45:24-off societies in the West, and including democracies in the East, like Japan and South

45:31Korea, where people aren't having enough kids.

45:33That's all very real. Elon, who is certainly a guy who sees the future well,

45:38recognizes this as, I think, the biggest challenge that humanity faces.

45:41The good news is there is a solution to it, and the solution's actually quite

45:47fun. In fact, in fact, and not only fun, I mean, there's, of course, that

45:52part of it, but it's also very rewarding, and being a dad is, like, my

45:55favorite thing ever, as I'm sure it is for you, Clay, three times over.

45:59Being a dad is the absolute greatest.

46:01Being a mom, I'm sure, is, I can't speak to it, you know, I can't

46:06identify as a mom, but I'm sure that's the same thing.

46:12You know what I think is going to actually be increasingly playing a role in

46:15this? There's already some data you've seen, little bits of this here and there.

46:20GLP drugs are going to be very helpful, because once you start taking that sweet,

46:29sweet sauce from Ozempic or Terzipeptide or whatever, you drop those 30 or 40 pounds,

46:36you're sleeping better, you're feeling better, you're looking better, you might as well just throw

46:40on a little Barry White in the background.

46:42Can't get enough of your love, baby.

46:44You know, it starts really moving and grooving.

46:47People are going to get more frisky as they lose weight on the GLPs, because

46:51this is funny. Body positivity was a big thing for, what, 10 years?

46:56You know, they put people in spandex who shouldn't be in spandex, like doing, you

47:01know, all sorts of body movement, and they're like, hey, I feel great about being

47:05morbidly obese. And I was like, I don't know, that doesn't seem like a great

47:09thing. Body positivity has vanished.

47:12And as these GLP ones are becoming more and more affordable, people are dropping weight

47:18at a significant level. That's an interesting theory.

47:21And it's going to make them, in the mind of Buck Sexton, a bit more

47:25frisky. There's actually a chemistry behind it, too.

47:29For the guys out there, if your estrogen levels get too high, your estradiol, then

47:36your libido tends to, you know, if you have low T and high estrogen, it's

47:41all about balance. By the way, you need estrogen, actually, as a guy.

47:44But if your estrogen level gets high relative to your testosterone level, it'll affect libido

47:49and mood pretty drastically. And so because we also have a T, a testosterone crisis

47:55in the West, which people haven't really figured out yet.

47:58I think part of it is just it's our it's dietary.

48:01It's the toxic masculinity hate that men have been getting.

48:06There's a lot of things that come together there, too.

48:07There's not a single factor analysis you can do.

48:10But Clay, biochemically, you are more likely to want to get frisky if you are

48:17at a healthier weight is the bottom line, male and female.

48:20So GLPs are the most important health revolution of the 21st century, in my opinion.

48:27And also, I think you're going to help with the baby boom.

48:30There could be something of an ozempic baby boom, if you will.

48:33This would be fantastic. Here's my concern.

48:38I think that by the way, you respect the barrier, Barry, right, Barry White.

48:42I mean, if you're if you're in a baby making mood, right, Barry White's what

48:45you got to throw. Very, very, very, very positive.

48:49I would say here's my concern.

48:51And this is it's it almost is just a math equation.

48:54Just make it very logical.

48:56If the average woman and I believe I'm correct in this is so let's start

49:00with point one. We would like to have children in marriage.

49:06marriage right in an ideal world so i tell my kids get married have as

49:10many babies as you can be a good dad but you need to get married

49:13right so you want a dad and a mom both present um if we are

49:17having incredibly declining rates of marriage and we are also simultaneously seeing marriage beginning for

49:27women now i'm focusing on women here because women have babies we understand that biologically

49:32here we're not a left -wing show if women are not getting married until they're

49:36in their 30s and this is now becoming the standard right the average man is

49:40over 30 the average woman increasingly is basically 30 years old the math equation on

49:46this buck just gets hard and i i we need to have more women on

49:51talking about this but this is because then inevitably it's just like well you're a

49:54guy you don't it's way harder for women to have babies in their 30s than

49:59it is in their 20s and if we are both simultaneously creating a world where

50:05the highest educated most wealthy among us are not getting married until they're in their

50:1130s then you just get into a mathematical equation right where it takes longer than

50:17you expect you're 33 when you have your first baby the babies are especially first

50:23babies as you've just learned buck very changing to your lifestyle and then you're like

50:29okay we got to figure out do we have the time now to have baby

50:31number two it takes a time i just think the math on this when you

50:36don't get married until after 30 on average i think there are a lot of

50:40people that would be open to having baby two baby three baby one that don't

50:45get in a position where the math adds up because a lot of women look

50:50when you get into your upper 30s what is it a gerry this is crazy

50:54but it's called a call the geriatric pregnancy once you hit 35 35 which doesn't

50:59feel very old but yes by the way that is officially medically that is not

51:04a point of contention that is not a derogatory thing that is it is considered

51:07medically a geriatric pregnancy from 35 so do you know because my wife had a

51:13geriatric pregnancy so so this is i know because my assistant katie who has a

51:18couple of different babies she was like i couldn't believe it they called me a

51:21geriatric pregnant woman uh because she was 35 i think when she had her second

51:25baby um i think it's just a math equation and and i think a lot

51:30of women out there and i don't know if it's going to happen are going

51:33to have to decide hey what's the most important thing to me is it having

51:38a baby or is it getting promoted to mid -tier management in a job that

51:45frankly isn't that desirable of a job and i think we have sold this again

51:49people are going to get mad at me over this i think we have sold

51:52a lot of people a bill of goods um that your success in a major

51:59multinational corporation defines you more than your success as a parent and i think you

52:05can speak to this now that you're a dad i can certainly speak to it

52:08as a dad like success in life is great in professional career but it pales

52:14in comparison to being a parent this is like a whole different show we're doing

52:17now but i guess i'll just lean into it uh and a whole different so

52:20just in terms of how much content and discussion there can be about this stuff

52:23one thing that i've seen from my female peers in new york city meaning girls

52:28who i grew up with and are my age uh a lot of them i

52:32think feel very they felt a little lied to by the culture that professional success

52:38at some level would make them desirable mates we've kind of run that experiment and

52:44the truth is the guy working as a gas station attendant and the ceo of

52:51the fortune 100 company kind of looking for a lot of the same things it's

52:57and it doesn't equate with being vp of the marketing firm they don't care is

53:05the point it doesn't actually affect your marketability the same way as it does in

53:09the dating marketplace by the way people can argue with me on this all the

53:13data supports this i was single a lot in new york city i've seen a

53:17lot i understand how these dynamics play out you know no matter whether but what

53:21i was referring to by the way there's data that shows that uh whether you're

53:25making like fifty thousand dollars a year or you know five million dollars a year

53:30the top three professions that it's not that they don't want people want educated you

53:35know they want an educated wife they want somebody but in terms of career stuff

53:38nurse pediatrician school teacher black guys white guys uh hispanic go go to the issue

53:48there is all that would be a good mom this is a job that you

53:51think a good mom would yes would have yes and so women who sacrifice this

53:57is like the women that i went to amherst with who went into investment banking

54:00which has just horrendous and really abusive hours in your 20s which you exchange for

54:05money it's not worth it to gain 30 pounds as a woman in your 20s

54:09and have your hair start to fall out fall out from stress and anxiety and

54:12trying to do all this stuff because you know you're going to make like a

54:16slightly bigger bonus than if you took the job where you're actually doing something you

54:19want to do and i think a lot of women have been lied to about

54:22that men will make those by the way jordan peterson's been hitting this for years

54:25and years he's totally right men will make these trade -offs like the guys listening

54:29to us who do the the crazy uh like arctic fish thing off of alaska

54:35and they make you know 80 grand in the six -week season i'm making up

54:39the numbers but they might get knocked into the ocean and die men make but

54:42they might freeze to death in the oh yeah exactly they're playing with like big

54:45harpoons and hooks and stuff and captain ahab stuff they do that knowing that they

54:51come home and they're a you know they're a more appealing provider they got more

54:56money in the bank all this sort of stuff the economic incentives in mating are

55:00not the same for men and women is the bottom line and women have been

55:02largely now now they're going to be some guys who call in who watch ms

55:06now and who are beta males who are like i want a provider as well

55:10i'm not saying you don't want a woman who has a job i'm saying that

55:13people who sacrificed life for job who are women oftentimes because remember the timelines are

55:20different they look back at this now and they're like no one told me no

55:23no one told me that mortgaging my 20s and deep into my 30s so that

55:27i could be on a super aggressive career track had real consequences for me that

55:31the men don't have we can have kids in our 60s this is the key

55:35you can be a guy and say i want to work 90 hours a week

55:39in my 20s and 30s and you can make put yourself in a position where

55:42you're making a lot of money and then at 45 you can decide hey you

55:47know what i want to get married and there are tons of from frankly from

55:5225 to you know 35 year old women you saw it all the time my

55:57date my dating options once i hit 35 were more um uh available than than

56:05in my 20s by like a by like an order of magnitude and so it

56:09is a biology is real and i think again when you don't get married until

56:13your 30s the math on this i'm not surprised honestly because i think the fulfillment

56:18um you decide hey i had one you're 36 37 two may or may not

56:23happen and um i do think it's a it's a major issue going forward because

56:31the most educated successful societies are having the least amount of children and that does

56:36not seem good and by the way the wealthiest societies and by the way they're

56:40importing a lot of people from societies where they're not educated and they're having a

56:43lot of kids and there are social costs that come with that too because now

56:47you're creating a massive welfare state and there's there's problems with that so anyway um

56:53see we got into a whole other conversation here i might actually want to talk

56:57some sports coming up that's right we've got homeowners i do homeowners put this project

57:02on your short list of things to do have your roof inspected by our friends

57:05at erie home they got 50 years of experience erie home will inspect your roof

57:14developed over many years in business your roof is critical right it's the thing that's

1:04:28She says that geriatric pregnancy, she just texted me, she was listening to the show,

1:04:32Buck. Now they're starting to move on from geriatric pregnancy because so many women were,

1:04:38I think, rocked at the age of 35 by hearing that they were a geriatric

1:04:43pregnancy. They now call it, in many places, Buck, this is Advanced Maternal Age, or

1:04:50AMA, to try to make women less stunned, I think, by the concept of a

1:04:56geriatric pregnancy. Yeah, I totally disagree with this.

1:04:59I think that they should, like, people should know.

1:05:01You should, because it's a biological reality.

1:05:04This isn't about feelings. This is about, with each passing year after 35, your risk

1:05:09of complications goes up, your chances of getting pregnant goes down, your chance of bringing

1:05:13the baby full term goes down, all of the people, women need to know.

1:05:18My female friends that I grew up with, like I said, in New York, so

1:05:23many of them were just lied to about this stuff, lied to by the culture.

1:05:31You have plenty of time.

1:05:33The guys are partying. You know, go to Tulum.

1:05:36Eat, pray, love your way through.

1:05:38Now, I understand this may be a very specific thing to people in New York,

1:05:41L .A., D .C., Boston, Chicago, but it's big time in all those places.

1:05:48I think it's very common for highly educated women.

1:05:51They are told that they can have it all, and some, to be fair, are

1:05:57able to manage all of it better than others, but if you don't find the

1:06:01right person, to your point, like you're hanging out with guys at 25 and 30

1:06:06and 33 and 34 that can be able to do the fancy vacations and still

1:06:12have the high -end success, but those guys might decide at 45, hey, I'm going

1:06:16to get married. I'm going to settle down.

1:06:17I'm going to have kids, and that option is available to them, and you suddenly

1:06:22look around. You're 39 years old.

1:06:25You're in middle management. Maybe you're making a decent salary, but I don't think it's

1:06:29that fulfilling, and I think a lot of women have been sold, and then they

1:06:33look around, and the 39 -year -old guy doesn't feel the same pressure that the

1:06:3739 -year -old woman does, and here's the other reality, Buck.

1:06:40It's way harder for women to date young, right?

1:06:44Way harder for a 39 -year -old woman to find, first of all, men are

1:06:48morons in their 20s oftentimes and aren't that serious, so it's hard to find.

1:06:52Let's say you're 39 and you want to date a 28 -year -old.

1:06:55A 39 -year -old guy can date a lot of 28 -year -olds.

1:06:58Most 28 -year -old guys are not going to seriously date a 39 -year -old

1:07:03woman to stay with, so the math on this is different.

1:07:05We want to play this rush cut, because you played a funny clip as we

1:07:10went to break of how male sports talk radio is often...

1:07:14Before we get to the rush cut, though, I mean, have you had guys call

1:07:17in to, like, Clay, I just want to say I love what's going on with

1:07:22Auburn. They're doing great, and, you know, my wife and I are having problems.

1:07:28Did you ever have to doctor -fill the situation?

1:07:30Because you thought you were there to do sports analysis, but really someone just wanted

1:07:34to call in to chat.

1:07:34Look, this has to do with during COVID, and I'm not claiming that sports talk

1:07:41radio is saving the world.

1:07:42Far from it. But during COVID, March, April, May, June 2020, I was doing nationwide

1:07:50sports talk radio for Fox Sports Radio, leading into Dan Patrick and Colin Cowherd, and

1:07:57sports shut down. Sports shut down just didn't exist, for those of you who have

1:08:02forgotten. I know a lot of you, but imagine doing three hours a day of

1:08:05sports talk radio, March, April, May, June of 2020.

1:08:10To a large extent, my job then, Buck, I really mean this, was to be

1:08:14a therapist for people who are otherwise sports fans.

1:08:18Because a lot of people didn't get the opportunity to just sit at home and

1:08:22eat Cheetos and watch Netflix.

1:08:24A lot of guys, especially early in the morning, are up on the road, they're

1:08:28driving, and sports is their escape from the serious things in life, right?

1:08:33You've got a wife who might be sick or not very happy with you.

1:08:37You've got a mom and dad who might be aging.

1:08:40Sports is your escape. It is your sanity.

1:08:43And a lot of it is, I mean, I'm telling you, a lot of it

1:08:46is an emotional connection. Now I want to go back and listen to old Clay

1:08:52Travis shows, was just to hear some guy call in like, well, you know, I

1:08:56love Ohio State so much, and like they're not playing, and Clay, tell me a

1:09:01story. You know? Just like, Clay, tell me it's going to be okay.

1:09:06I'm telling you, you go back and you listen to a lot of those March,

1:09:09April, May, and June shows, a lot of it was therapy for guys that were

1:09:12busting their ass and didn't have sports to be able to escape, and the world's

1:09:16falling down around them, and they still got to be in that truck, and they

1:09:19got to deliver that beer to a gas station, or they got to still be,

1:09:23you know, showing up at their jobs when everybody, the higher end your job was,

1:09:28you just slept in, right?

1:09:30You're not waking up at 6 a .m.

1:09:31How many, remember when, like, everybody was getting up at like 10 a .m.

1:09:34in the morning, they started to look at the data, and nobody was waking up

1:09:37early in the morning who had, you know, working from home, things changed enormously, and

1:09:42a lot of people didn't get that opportunity and still had to go and work

1:09:47no matter what. It's very important being able to separate yourself from just the rudimentary

1:09:52routine that you're in on a day -to -day basis, whether it's prayer or meditation.

1:10:00I'm actually doing yoga with Carrie after this.

1:10:03Yoga, sports. I find video games are, me, Elon and I, I find video games

1:10:09are a super easy way to kind of...

1:10:12What does your wife think about video games?

1:10:14I try not to play them when she's...

1:10:17I feel like I've... Women hate, women hate men playing video games.

1:10:23Sports, like, they may not love you watching sports.

1:10:25They really hate walking in.

1:10:28I'm talking about, like, 20s and 30s.

1:10:30I try to, like, slyly sort of just turn it off, like, just checking to

1:10:33see if it still works.

1:10:36You know? As a general rule, women do not find it attractive for men to

1:10:42play video. And we know what's funny about this one.

1:10:44When I'm, like, changing diapers and cleaning the kitchen, I get wifey walking around, you

1:10:48know, spandex and feeling great.

1:10:50When she catches a little too much video games going on, all of a sudden,

1:10:54wifey's, like... Don't trip, trip, trip.

1:10:57triple XL sweatshirt, like Mrs.

1:10:58Doubtfire style out there. It's just, it's amazing how that happens.

1:11:01The young men, and I know we have some young men listening, just have this

1:11:06idea that, you know, they're going to have a girlfriend and she's going to be

1:11:11incredibly good looking and she's going to love playing Call of Duty with them, right?

1:11:15Like there's this, there's this young male fantasy.

1:11:17It's like, we're just going to, we're just going to be like fighting World War

1:11:21II battles. And then when we're tired of fighting World War II battles on Call

1:11:25of Duty, we're going to make out and it's going to be, yeah, it's probably,

1:11:29and they sell them, right?

1:11:31They sell them on this idea because there's a couple of pretty girls.

1:11:33Like what was the Olivia Munn back in the day?

1:11:36He's like, I love video games and Star Wars and I'm going to dress up

1:11:39like Princess Leia and we're just going to play Call of Duty.

1:11:41This is like all the Maxim Magazine models in the heyday of Maxim Magazine, they

1:11:45would do some little interview and they're just like, I like a guy with a

1:11:48little bit of a beer belly that I can hug and cuddle.

1:11:51It's like, sure you do.

1:11:52Sure you do. You, Olga, the bikini model, like absolutely, yeah.

1:11:59Rush, coming back to this clip, when you shared that comedian's take, what was the

1:12:06comedian's name, by the way?

1:12:07Should we give him credit?

1:12:07Did we give him credit?

1:12:08Yeah, give him credit again for it.

1:12:09I'll pull it up right now.

1:12:10Make sure we give him credit.

1:12:18that was a really funny routine.

1:12:21Sports talker. This is one good thing about Instagram, by the way.

1:12:24Comedians have just taken off on the reels function.

1:12:27If you find a couple of funny cuts, like it's been phenomenal for them.

1:12:31But, so that comedian talking about sports talk radio callers, Rush, obviously, as many of

1:12:37you know, was huge sports fan, was involved in sports for much of his career

1:12:43of a variety of different perspectives.

1:12:45In fact, there was talk for a while that Rush was going to buy his

1:12:48own team because of the success he had with this radio program.

1:12:52But here is Rush talking about when he worked for the Kansas City Royals back

1:12:57in the day and what sports teams did and meant to people.

1:13:02I thought this was really interesting.

1:13:05This is from 2017, I believe.

1:13:08Cut 19. One thing about sports fandom.

1:13:11I had a sociologist from Harvard once tell me that the great thing about sports,

1:13:16and I've never forgotten this, folks.

1:13:19I was working for Kansas City Royals winter meetings one year in Scottsdale, Arizona.

1:13:24We had this Harvard sociologist.

1:13:26And I said, my first reaction, are you kidding me?

1:13:29We've got some Ivy Leaguer coming down here trying to tell us added techniques on

1:13:35marketing our teams. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

1:13:37So I went. Well, it was mandatory.

1:13:41I went. And the guy said something that was actually one of those things that

1:13:46when he said it, yeah, absolute wish you could have thought of it yourself, but

1:13:50you didn't. He said the beauty of sports.

1:13:55Now, remember, all this is in the context of us who were in marketing and

1:14:00sales trying to expand the number of people that visit the ballpark or watch on

1:14:03TV and ways to exploit their fandom.

1:14:07He said the unique thing about sports is the one thing you can invest total

1:14:16passion without consequence. He said, try that with a woman.

1:14:22Or there were some women who looked at them and said, try that with a

1:14:24man. And what he meant by that was your team may lose and they may

1:14:32disappoint you, but your team will never try to take half of what you've got.

1:14:36Your team will never divorce you.

1:14:39Your team will never reject you.

1:14:40Your team will never, unless you throw beer on a player, they'll never kick you

1:14:44out of the place. But when interpersonal relationships, everybody, their first time they get heartbreak

1:14:51or hurt, they're reserved after that.

1:14:53They don't want that to happen again.

1:14:55And so they do not invest their passion totally because there's consequence.

1:15:02When you can, this is the definition of Uber fandom.

1:15:06Invest total passion without consequence.

1:15:10It's really kind of fascinating.

1:15:12And I mean, I think, again, there are women who are sports fans, you know,

1:15:1625 % of sports fandom.

1:15:18But for most diehard sports fans is male.

1:15:22And it is really kind of interesting to think through that.

1:15:25And many of you, maybe in your relationships with your dad or your brothers or

1:15:30your best friends, a huge portion of the conversations that I have with the men

1:15:37in my family is sports related.

1:15:39Right. The boys in my family, still sports related.

1:15:42It's a form of love language for men that is not defined in that way.

1:15:47And I thought the comedian on the flip, on a funny side of it, making

1:15:50that point and then Rush on a more serious side, kind of deconstructing the psychology

1:15:55behind it does make sense.

1:15:56Well, it's important for people to be able to have conversations that share any kind

1:16:00of a common ground, which I know you, this is why, and I have to

1:16:03take credit for this because it's true.

1:16:05It's an observation about Clay and he admits it.

1:16:07He straight up trusts you and likes you more if you're an SEC football fan.

1:16:11He's like, oh, I can give you the keys to my car.

1:16:13I can, you're a good dude or gal.

1:16:15You're a good person. You like SEC football.

1:16:17But being able to find common ground with people that you can share is very

1:16:24powerful. It even reminds me of, I feel like I used to think that small

1:16:27talk was, there's a lot of people who say, I don't do small talk, or

1:16:30small talk's a waste of time.

1:16:32Small talk is actually just about establishing the energy and the exchange between two people.

1:16:38It's kind of like, hey, I'm here, I'm a friendly, and I'm hoping you're good,

1:16:43and we're all good, and it's putting everyone at ease, right?

1:16:46Small talk is not about the exchange of information.

1:16:49It's the exchange of energy that comes from it, or the intent, if you will,

1:16:54of the exchange. Which is, hey, I'm happy to see you, you're happy to see

1:16:58me, I wish you well, you wish me well, and we're talking about the weather.

1:17:02Because people don't really care to talk about the weather, but the point is establishing

1:17:06that commonality, and I see that a lot with the people who are sports ball

1:17:09fans. Yes, and by the way, you know what, that commonality often is lost in

1:17:14now? Phones. Because it used to be that you would have conversations with strangers more.

1:17:21Now, what most of us do, and I do this too, is if you're standing

1:17:25in a line, or if you're engaged in some activity, so many people look down

1:17:32at their phones. And so you dial out of the circumstances and surroundings around you,

1:17:39and your human interaction has now been translated into the phone.

1:17:43So we've got a funny clip, somewhat funny, it's good for me, from Kamala Harris
