Hour 2 - Explaining VA Redistricting

0:00This is an iHeart Podcast.
0:02Guaranteed human. Welcome in. Hour number two.
0:07Clay Travis, Buck Sexton Show.
0:09We'll see how many different callers want to tell me I'm nuts here in the
0:14second hour of the program.
0:16I'm on a real run in the first hour.
0:18We've been discussing Iran discussions that are scheduled for tomorrow.
0:24Negotiations on Tuesday as the ceasefire nears an end.
0:28President Trump has said that he's unlikely to extend the ceasefire deadline.
0:33I would suggest to you that Trump is not unlikely to extend the ceasefire deadline.
0:39Buck, I think you've been saying you thought it was likely that it would be
0:42extended for some time. I predicted day one, this ceasefire, it's going to be a
0:46big, beautiful agreement to agree to talk about a future agreement.
0:50Just watch. Trump says it will expire, for the record, on Wednesday evening, United States
0:57time. And there are reports that Iran is sending a negotiating team as well as
1:03the United States sending a negotiated team, negotiation team.
1:09And, again, President Trump saying it's highly unlikely that a truce will be extended.
1:15Now, so that is out there.
1:17I laid out to me what I think are the goals of the United States,
1:22nuclear dust seized in some way by us, and the strait open for commerce without
1:28any threats, no blockade by us, no danger of tankers being seized, as we did,
1:36and no dangers of any attacks on any of the oil and gas ships that
1:42are attempting to transit the region.
1:45So we will see what happens there, and we'll take some of your calls from
1:49many different people involved in analyzing the situation in Iran.
1:54But I did want to mention this, Buck, as we come up on the midterms.
1:58Maybe the most significant redistricting decision being made by a state other than Florida, because
2:05Florida still has to make a decision on redistricting, and the Supreme Court still has
2:10to make a decision on redistricting, which we will talk about shortly, is the attempt
2:14of Virginia and their newly elected Democrat Governor Abigail Spanberger to effectively eliminate Republican congressional
2:22seats in the state. I believe, Buck, this would take us to essentially a one,
2:30I think this is the plan, is there would effectively be one Republican who would
2:34be representing the state of Virginia, a state where Trump won roughly 45 -46 %
2:41of the vote in the 2024 election.
2:44So not quite a 50 -50 state, but Virginia was one of two states that
2:50the Trump team really does believe, Buck.
2:53The New Jersey and Virginia, the Trump team thinks if they had had Kamala Harris
2:58-level money, if they had been able to, in other words, spend a billion dollars
3:04like Kamala Harris did, way more money that Kamala spent than was spent by the
3:11Trump team, that they could have flipped to New Jersey and they could have flipped
3:14Virginia. I believe they lost both states by roughly five points.
3:19So very competitive state where a huge number of you are listening to us right
3:24now in Virginia and voted Republican.
3:26They just elected a Republican governor in 2021, Glenn Youngkin.
3:31You can only serve one term, Buck.
3:32I think you sign off with me that if you had been able to serve
3:36a second term, Glenn Youngkin probably would have won pretty comfortably in Virginia because he
3:41had really high favorability ratings.
3:43People were very happy on average with his overall leadership there.
3:49So this is a huge step.
3:52We will see what the vote is going to be.
3:54Reportedly, it is going to be close, but it would effectively end the Republican Party
4:00having any sort of substantial stake in the congressional districts of Virginia.
4:04And the way they would do this, and this is significant, is they basically are
4:07flooding all of the districts in Northern Virginia, which is the most Democrat by far.
4:13They're taking away all of the power of the so -called lower Virginia of the
4:19parts that border West Virginia and Tennessee and North Carolina and basically doing away with
4:26the power of all of those people.
4:28Can I also just remind everyone here, because this is not a both sides -ism.
4:35Democrats, when it comes to power, go for the jugular.
4:42Every time. Every time, you know?
4:44Like a Bengal tiger jumping out of the tall grass onto some little villager, some
4:49hapless villager somewhere, and just going right for the throat.
4:54Democrats, I thought that was kind of stark imagery for you all.
4:57Democrats, they just go for it.
5:01Meanwhile, Clay, we have a fantastic Heritage Radio station in Indiana, for example.
5:07Whoa, whoa. So many of you whoa, whoa listeners know exactly what I'm going to
5:11say. When Trump tells Indiana, hey, guys, redistrict that thing as strongly as you can
5:19for the Republicans, it is lawful.
5:22It is within your power.
5:24Just don't. Just don't. do it the uh the the senators the state senators decided
5:31no it's not nice it sets a bad precedent we're not gonna do that we
5:37don't want a mid -cycle we don't want a mid -cycle redraw uh okay well
5:43look what look over virginia i mean it's just it's a perfect example what about
5:47a year a year apart democrats have a chance to just completely gut the gop
5:53for congressional seats in their state they do it as much as they possibly doesn't
5:58matter the map have you seen the map but like the actual physical yeah it's
6:00crazy you know i'm looking i'm looking at it right now as you are talking
6:03about this i'm legitimately looking at the maps and it is outlandish the way in
6:09which they are skewing it all to northern virginia to ensure that they have blue
6:13voters in districts that there's no basis at all to have blue voters in and
6:18i just i just have to remind you all that you know in indiana a
6:22bright remember virginia is a purple state indiana is a bright red state and in
6:28our bright red state a bunch of gop principled guys in the state senate were
6:34like no we're not going to do that gerrymandering even though trump wants it the
6:37republican party wants it we're not going to do it we're just not going to
6:40and then virginia in a very purple state goes all the way to the max
6:46for the democrat party clay this stuff in a tight senate or rather a tight
6:50congress this stuff makes a difference huge difference and let me hit you with more
6:54of the data on this um and again the voting is going on tomorrow it
6:59is a redistricting amendment that would take it from six to five democrat favored to
7:06ten to one democrat favored so democrats would pick up four congressional seats in a
7:12you know united states uh country where four congressional districts very likely could swing now
7:19i'll talk about florida in a sec and the supreme court buck but in 2024
7:23kamala harris got 51 .8 percent of the vote donald trump got 46 .05 so
7:31about five point what six or seven percent difference so again 46 percent of virginia
7:38voters said we are republicans in 2024 they would go down to one now florida
7:44still has to decide what they're going to do and there has been some talk
7:48that florida could still redistrict maybe partly determined by what happens here but the biggest
7:54part of this buck the supreme court still has a decision to uh to render
7:59here likely being written by justice alito and in that supreme court decision uh it
8:06is likely that majority minority racial gerrymandering will be ruled unconstitutional which could cost democrats
8:16double digit seats particularly in the south now it's unlikely however that that decision is
8:23going to come out in time for it to be applied for 2026 so it
8:28would not come out until 2028 meaning democrats are trying to rig things as much
8:34as they can in the meantime now uh so so this story is big if
8:40you are listening to us in virginia it's very close even though democrats uh in
8:45virginia had a lot of success just last november uh there is a uh there
8:50is not some certainty over whether it's going to pass or not in fact as
8:54i'm talking to you buck i'm going to look up and see what the forecast
8:58prediction markets are uh but i would say it's a small favorite likely to pass
9:04but this is still something where if you're listening to us and you are a
9:07republican and you go out and vote that this is still one that could be
9:12won but i do think it's important that we're talking about look i mean from
9:18six to five to ten to one in a state that is super close they
9:23are saying uh that this is uh that they're willing to do to your point
9:27buck whatever is necessary in order to win and right now there is an 84
9:33percent chance on the prediction markets that this is going to pass tomorrow so there
9:38is a decent likelihood that when we start the show on wednesday when we sit
9:42down to to talk with all of you at noon eastern on wednesday we're going
9:46to be saying democrats in virginia did what republicans in indiana were not willing to
9:53do what republicans uh have not been willing to do there's no state like this
9:58buck there will not be a state that is 51 to 46 like this with
10:04a 10 to 1 slant like we are seeing in virginia virginia will be the
10:10most gerrymandered competitive state anywhere in the nation and by the way there are lots
10:15of other states where if you look at this democrats have been more aggressive in
10:20gerrymandering than republicans largely have uh particularly when you look at relatively close states like
10:28virginia so we will see what ends up happening uh going forward but that referendum
10:33is big news and the supreme court decision when it eventually comes out is also
10:39huge news uh as we all sit and wait uh to see what will happen
10:44with those results tomorrow and by the way when do we have uh molly hemingway
10:48on is she on tuesday i think with us to talk about the alito case
10:52she on tuesday peter peter peter peter peter peter peter peter peter peter peter peter
10:52peter peter peter peter peter peter ramee Buck, did you read the revelations from her
10:55book, I can't wait to talk with her about this tomorrow, about the members of
11:01the conservative majority on Dobbs went to the liberals and said, people are threatening to
11:07kill us because this opinion has been leaked, as we talked about on this program,
11:12was likely to be the case.
11:14And they begged the Democrat members of the Supreme Court to go ahead and get
11:20their dissents written. So the case, once it's published, it's law.
11:23But until it's published, as we told you, and as the person who showed up
11:27to try to kill Brett Kavanaugh knew, until it's published, there is no final verdict.
11:33So you had a situation where there could be someone killed to try and swing,
11:39or multiple people killed, to try and swing the outcome of the Dobbs case, and
11:43they wouldn't accelerate the writing of their actual opinions, even despite the danger.
11:49The allegation, actually, Clay, is that they went in the opposite direction, that they slow
11:54-rolled it, which means they were hoping that the pressure of assassination threat against their
12:01colleagues might jog their memories about the disgusting.
12:07These people worship abortion. They worship Moloch.
12:11It is grotesque. It is child sacrifice.
12:15And the Democrat Party will have this as a stain on its soul for all
12:19time, regardless of what the Supreme Court says or does not say.
12:25So that case, as we wait for it, we'll talk about this a lot with
12:29Molly Hemingway tomorrow, but I would encourage you, if you haven't already read, to read
12:33that report about the way all of that is potentially going to be working itself
12:39out. We've got loaded lines.
12:41We'll get to some of your calls and make sure that we get all your
12:45feedback in as the Iran negotiations continue.
12:49The negotiations surrounding whether the negotiations will continue, potentially, is the way to put that
12:54best. But I want to tell you right now, LifeLock, your online identity, valuable.

14:04friends. Clay and Buck, owning the airway.
14:11Welcome back in to Clay and Buck.
14:14And we've got a lot of callers.
14:17Let's see here. Let's take Rob in Missouri.
14:19Rob, what's going on? You did tours in Kuwait and Afghanistan.
14:23Thank you for your service.
14:24What are your thoughts? Yeah, I was listening to this whole thing, and you're correct.
14:30I did two years in Iraq.
14:31I did two years in Afghanistan.
14:34I did four years in Kuwait.
14:36And all of it I did working as a Department of Defense contractor.
14:41Having said that, I've been to 57 fallen comrade ceremonies during the whole time that
14:49I was over there. I personally have went through rocket attacks.
14:56I've laid on the floor in futile position, praying to God that I wouldn't be
15:01killed. And unfortunately, there were 57 people that were killed that I intended their service.
15:09The way I look at things, as long as this has been going on, and
15:13by the way, I was in Diego Garcia back when the Marine bombing took place
15:19in Lebanon. But having said all of that, I've been around the Middle East quite
15:26a long time. I know quite a few Iranian folks that are against the regime.
15:33At this stage of the game, we have to look at history, and we can't
15:37let history repeat itself. You know, back in World War II, Japan was willing to
15:46throw as many people as necessary to achieve victory.
15:51And they would kill themselves in the midst of a tragedy.
15:55Okay, so we're coming to the thesis here.
15:57We had to nuke them to get them to not do that.
15:59So are you saying we need to hit them harder in Iran?
16:01What I'm saying is that, just as MacArthur did, we need an unconditional surrender is
16:07what we need. Okay, thank you for calling in, Rob.
16:09I appreciate you, appreciate your service.
16:10Iran is not going to unconditionally surrender.
16:12And we're not going to nuke them.
16:14And we're not going to land forages.
16:15So we have to work within what is possible here, as in what Trump is
16:19willing to do. and what the Iranians are theoretically willing to do in response or
16:24possibly willing to do, as in if it's not theoretically possible, we can't hope for
16:28that. I want to give you another caller, but Clay, you have a quick guess.
16:30Let's just say this. You and I would both be in huge favor if Iran
16:34would unconditionally surrender and just call uncle and say you are our daddy, like, you
16:40know, whatever you want to do to us, you can.
16:42That isn't a viable outcome here.
16:44Nothing would make Clay happier than Iran embracing SEC football and hot chicks walking around
16:51Tehran in miniskirts and everyone being free and happy.
16:54That is Clay. Clay would sign on for that tomorrow.
16:57That's my ideal world. That's my ideal world for everyone, by the way.
17:00We're not in the ideal world, unfortunately, so that's not likely to happen.
17:04Martin in Colorado. What's going on, Martin?
17:06Hi there. I heard your goals, three or four, whatever they are.
17:12It's inconceivable to me, partly addressing the previous guy, it's inconceivable to me to say
17:20thou shall stop all forms of terrorist support, whether it's firing missiles or sending weapons
17:28or whatever, and this is non -negotiable.
17:31Every time you do it, we'll collect evidence of our choosing and we will take
17:37away X percent of your economy, whether it's five percent or ten percent or two
17:42percent, a nibble at a time, pumping stations, port facilities, and we'll wall off a
17:49significant portion of the country so we can deliver arms to a civilian civil war
17:57force. Thank you for the call.
18:01Thank you for the call.
18:01Guys, we've got to get you to your thesis quickly here on calls.
18:04You've got to tell us what you're thinking right away because we ran out of
18:06time. Go ahead, Clay. And we'll talk about that a little bit when we come
18:09back. In the meantime, I can save you up to $1 ,000 if you go
18:13to Pure Talk right now.
18:14You can switch over by doing pound 250 with your cell phones right now.
18:20You can keep your same phone and your same phone number, $34 .99 a month,
18:25unlimited high -speed data call and text.
18:28Think about how much of a better deal that is likely to be for you,
18:32$34 .99 a month. Switch to Pure Talk.
18:36Again, it's super easy. You can keep your same phone and your same phone number.
18:39Just dial pound 250, say Clay and Buck, unlimited high -speed data, $34 .99.
18:46Again, it's as easy as pound 250.
18:49Pure Talk will save you a bundle.
18:51I use it for my two oldest kids.
18:53You can use it for your family, too.
18:56Pound 250, say Clay and Buck.
18:59That's pound 250, say Clay and Buck.
19:02Welcome back in. Clay, Travis, Buck, Sexton Show.
19:05A bunch of you want to weigh in on a run.
19:07I would just say get to it fast.
19:10And there's a difference between what you want and what you can get.
19:16And there's people who've written some famous stuff.
19:18You don't always get what you want.
19:21That's right. That was not elite singing, but the right theme that I think a
19:28lot of you out there will understand.
19:30And there are a lot of people who say, oh, well, I want every member
19:35of the IRGC gone. I agree with you.
19:37I want Iran to renounce terrorism.
19:40I agree with you. I want Iran to say that they will never get nuclear
19:44weapons, and I want them to hand all of their nuclear weapons to us.
19:48I agree with all that.
19:50But in a negotiation, this is the reality.
19:56I think, Buck, you tell me if you think I'm wrong on this.
19:59Iran believes that the United States will not put boots on the ground in Iran.
20:04And so long as that is the situation, that is the case, then we have
20:10basically done everything that we can do up to and including this blockade that can
20:16curtail or constrain in any way Iran without actually trying to put boots on the
20:22ground like we did in Afghanistan and like we did in Iraq.
20:25And let me just add this.
20:27One of the awful legacies of failed military occupations is a lot of people believe
20:33it's impossible to ever have a successful military occupation.
20:37The reality is there have been a lot of successful military occupations in the history
20:42of the world. You and I talked about this a little bit.
20:45But the entire rebuilding after World War II was an insanely successful military occupation in
20:54the Pacific and in Europe.
20:55We rebuilt the entire European continent and much of Asia and put the world on
21:02much better footing with the Marshall Plan and other aspects of the post -war, which
21:08we won and made the world all better.
21:10So but in the wake of the disasters of what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan,
21:17we spent trillions of dollars, lost thousands of lives and not a lot changed.
21:21Many people have decided we never want to put boots on the ground ever again.
21:25If Iran knows that, then they also know that we have a midterm election in
21:31November and the president likely recognizes, as do most Republicans and most of you out
21:38there listening, that gas prices, if they are $5 a gallon or $4 .50 a
21:44gallon, now they're starting to come back and that is a good thing.
21:47But if they're high gas prices, that is very bad for the incumbent party.
21:52And so Iran's strongest aspect here is just if they won't put boots on the
21:58ground and that we will hold out economic pain and we will negotiate, all right?
22:05So I think you have to negotiate with Iran.
22:07With that being said, what that negotiation looked like, what I said is you have
22:12to give the idea of Iran getting something as a way for them to be
22:18willing to negotiate. Now, a lot of you want to weigh in.
22:22Jack in St. Louis, your take.
22:26We stick with military targets, command and control.
22:31We take out the Iranian guard that's mucking up the talks.
22:37And also they are responsible for screwing up the Gulf and sending boats and mines
22:46out there. So target them, get rid of them, stay away from the civilian targets
22:51like utilities. So you just thank you for the call.
22:55Jack in St. Louis just wants more military strikes inside of Iran.
23:00Valid perspective. That could be done.
23:03Let's see. Donald in New Orleans.
23:07Hey. Hello. So, yes, the Democrats will use the price of gas to beat up
23:15on Trump and the Republicans in the midterm.
23:18So I just want to give a perspective.
23:20In 1980, average gas prices were between $1 .19 and $1 .22 a gallon.
23:27If you look at the Consumer Price Index, which is inflation, this price roughly equates
23:35to $4 .30 to $4 .90 in today's dollars.
23:40And if you discount the increases in state sales taxes on gasoline, it's well below
23:47the 1980 prices. So I'm just trying to get that word out.
23:52No, I appreciate the call.
23:53Yes, when you adjust gas prices for Consumer Price Index and even more when you
23:59index them for purposes of average income now, gas has never been cheaper.
24:05That's all true. If gas is $5, people are going to be angry.
24:09That's also true. If gas is $4 .50, people are going to be angry.
24:13It doesn't have to always be rational.
24:16When people are angry about their economic situation, they blame the party in power.
24:21And I think Democrats know that, which is why they don't really have any solution.
24:25They just have point to an issue.
24:29Let's see. Dave in Chesapeake, what you got?
24:33Hey, Clay and Buck. These are in 10 seconds, man.
24:37The people of Iran lived under a secular government under the Shah at one time.
24:42Why can't they do it again?
24:44Because the guys with guns are not in a secular government.
24:49The guys with guns existed during the Shah.
24:53So the answer is, thank you for the call.
24:57Buck and I would love.
24:58Can I jump in really quickly, though?
24:59This is important. This is important.
25:00I want you to respond to him.
25:02But thesis in 10 seconds may need to be a thing for our callers now.
25:07I need a thesis in 10 seconds, guys.
25:10You can go a little longer than 10 seconds, but I need to know what
25:12you're talking about in 10 seconds, and then if you have to clarify a little
25:15bit, because a lot of people say, why don't you guys take more callers to
25:18get more in? If we take a caller and they take 90 seconds to tell
25:21us what they're going to say, the other five or six people who have all
25:24been on hold for an hour, we have no time to get to.
25:27So thesis in 10 seconds, new rule.
25:29I like thesis in 10 seconds.
25:31I do love thesis in 10 seconds.
25:33And pretend that you're talking to a girl at the bar and you have to
25:36get her attention. Go with your best line.
25:38Yes. Get us with your best line off the top.
25:41We don't need to know your background.
25:42We don't need to know your bio.
25:43We don't need to know what your name is or where you're even from, hardly.
25:46We can get to that if you're brilliant.
25:48Give us your best thesis.
25:49I appreciate that call. I think the majority of people in Iran wish that they
25:55were not governed by the government that they have right now.
25:57The problem is they have no weapons, and the people who do have the weapons
26:01are in power. And they just killed tens of thousands of people for marching in
26:05the streets and saying, hey, we want a new government.
26:07So you know right now, if you go march in the streets and say you
26:11want a new government, there's a decent chance you're going to get murdered by the
26:14government. That's the challenge, right?
26:17It's not a matter of what they want.
26:19It's a matter of what risk are you willing to take.
26:22That is your life and maybe your family's life in order to get the government
26:27that you want. Jimmy, Santa Barbara, you think Obama did a great job negotiating with
26:33Iran? No, I'm saying there's no difference materially between what Trump's proposing and what the
26:39JCPOA was. House of cash reparations, you have IAEA inspectors.
26:44Is that the only thing that Iran is going to agree to?
26:45And then you also are going to have to have some sort of sanctions relief
26:48on their oil. That's exactly what the JCPOA was.
26:51So if you want a roadmap out of this, we had it 12 years ago
26:54before Trump blew it up.
26:55Okay, you realize that Iran is going to continue to pursue nuclear weapons and that
27:01they were lying to Obama about not pursuing nuclear weapons, right?
27:05And that we gave them billions of dollars in cash off of airplanes that we
27:11flew into the country and that that was all a disaster, right?
27:15that we were being played and they weren't actually living up to the terms that
27:19they agreed to? How are you going to enforce the IRGC to do anything outside
27:25of boots on the ground?
27:26That's the point that you were making earlier, and it's the correct one.
27:28You are not going to be able to enforce U .S.
27:31boots on the ground against a regime whose father you just killed, who, by the
27:34way, was way more moderate than he is.
27:36So what, okay, so you're, hold on, your solution is Obama was right.
27:41No, my solution is that Trump isn't offering anything different than what the JCOPA did.
27:46Okay, so what are you offering?
27:48What do you want? What I'm saying is that if you're going to be going
27:51with the IAEA route, you probably need to have some sort of Israeli entrance into
27:57that because outside of them, they can blow this whole thing up too.
28:00If they decide they don't like the deal, they can start launching weapons again or
28:03back to square one. So you have to include Israelis in the inspectors because, you
28:07know, Mossad isn't there anyway, so you might as well make it official.
28:11Well, I think that's, thank you for the call.
28:13I think that's certainly going to be occurring.
28:15I mean, Iran is not going to be just dealing with the United States.
28:19We're going to have Israeli observation here too.
28:22Look, the analogy that I would make if you wanted me to make an analogy,
28:25which we've made on this show before, is it is imperative and rational if you
28:32are in the Iranian government to want nuclear weapons.
28:36I think a lot of people miss that.
28:38It is eminently rational, even though they may be religious zealots and they may be
28:42terrorists and we may hate their motivations.
28:45Buck, you know this. What's the number one way to ensure that you stay in
28:50power, no matter how crazy you are, in the world today?
28:54Nuclear weapons. North Korea is crazy.
28:58Insane. But we have to deal with them because they have nuclear weapons.
29:02It was eminently rational in the 1990s for North Korea to get nuclear weapons because
29:07it ensured they would be able to stay in power basically forever.
29:10And let me tell you something.
29:12The whole Qaddafi thing, which gets completely memory -holed by the Democrats because that ended
29:18up, it's just a disaster.
29:19They broke Libya. There was no plan.
29:21There was nothing. And it was just a total, you know, all of a sudden
29:24you got Christians having their heads chopped off on the beach on video.
29:27The whole thing was a total disaster.
29:30Qaddafi was starting to play ball with the West.
29:33And he's like, all right, I'm going to give up on the whole weapons of
29:36mass destruction thing and whatever.
29:38And he ended up on a video with people sticking knives in really bad places
29:43and killing him, okay? What about Ukraine?
29:46Ukraine listened to us and said, hey, you know what?
29:50It's too risky for us to have nuclear weapons.
29:53But you promise, you promise, promise, promise us that if Russia ever tries to do
29:58anything to us, you've got our back.
30:01They gave up their nukes.
30:02Russia would have never invaded Ukraine if they had kept their nukes.
30:05You know, think about it this way.
30:06For a lot of you who carry, some of you open carry, I think a
30:09lot more you conceal carry.
30:11I was just shooting this past weekend, by the way.
30:13Carol Markowitz came out. We took out my B &T, gave that a whirl with
30:17a suppressor on it. I had a lot of fun.
30:18Go check it out on Instagram.
30:19But I bring this up, Clay, because, okay, if someone's going to go up to
30:24you and punch you in the face, but they see that you're carrying a pistol
30:27that they have to assume is loaded, it changes the calculation a lot.
30:31Yes. It just does. It just does.
30:34And nukes are carrying on your hip for the purposes of a fist, you know,
30:40if somebody wanted to start a fistfight with you, nukes are a game changer for
30:44nation states. And that is just a fact.
30:46That is a reality. And that's why Iran is like, all we have to do
30:50is get there, and then we get rich because of the oil, and then they
30:53can never get rid of us.
30:55So this is the game they're playing.
30:56It is existential for them, which is why I love Trump.
31:00And I give him a lot of credit for having the balls to do something
31:03about Iran. However, is they're going to work with us?
31:06No, they are not. They're not.
31:09They're just not going to do it.
31:10I don't mean to be Mr.
31:11You know, poo -pooing the plan here, but the Iranians who are in charge right
31:15now, you got to get a whole different crew in charge, or else it's going
31:19to be blah, blah, blah, blah, squawking and talking about some deal that's never going
31:22to lead to anything really other than more talking while the Iranians try to sneak
31:26around and do this. This is just the deal.
31:29Well, and here's the other part of this deal, historically, if we hadn't blown it
31:34in Iraq and Afghanistan, I think there would be a lot more appetite to potentially
31:40be involved in trying to take out the IRGC in a more aggressive fashion.
31:46But I think in the back of Trump's mind, as someone who lived through what
31:51Iran did when they took over the embassy and made Jimmy Carter look completely impotent
31:56and got Carter beaten in 1980, among many other things, look, they know, Trump knows,
32:03that if he puts boots on the ground, that they have a decent chance to
32:06get hostages, and that is going to make Trump look weak.
32:10We're incredibly fortunate that we got the guys who were on the ground out, but
32:15the reality is that remains a real threat here.
32:19So we've got to negotiate in some way.
32:22What does that result look like that can be positive to me?
32:25Straight open, nuclear dust seized by us, and maybe Trump holds it out over the
32:30Truman balcony like Simba from The Lion King.
32:32That would be spiking the football a little bit, but it would be a very
32:37tangible resolution in a positive way.
32:40And it's the circle of life.
32:41Yes. How do you keep it?
