2:23a shake -up in D .C.

2:25Pam Bondi is out as Attorney General.

2:28I would reiterate, of course, in the first hour, I think Pam Bondi is from

2:34everything that I've seen. I actually don't know her.

2:36Did we interview her here on the show?

2:37I don't think we did.

2:38I think she's one of the few we've never had on.

2:41I feel like maybe when she was Florida AG, Clay, I interviewed her years ago,

2:44but I can't even remember now.

2:46We do a lot of interviews.

2:48But she's a good woman.

2:49She's a patriot. She loves his country.

2:52I think she served honorably.

2:54I think that's true. I think she made some mistakes, and Trump decided it's time

2:58for a change -up, right?

3:00Just because you take one player out of the game and you take somebody off

3:03the bench and put them in, it's not that the person that's on the bench

3:06is a bad person or a bad player even.

3:08It's just not right for that moment.

3:11So I think that Pam Bondi should, generally speaking, I know there are some criticisms,

3:17but generally speaking, should be thanked for her service, and I know Trump will do

3:20so. There's no animus here.

3:22This is just a change -up, and everybody should feel like when serving at the

3:25pleasure of the president means this, that sometimes we've got to change things up, even

3:30if you're doing your best.

3:31Your best isn't necessarily good enough for the moment, and that's okay as long as

3:38somebody else steps in who can get it done.

3:50Hit it. I couldn't disagree more with you regarding Pam Bondi or even, it sounds

3:57like, Tulsi Gabbard as well.

3:59Couldn't disagree more. Trump's panicking.

4:02Joe Biden, the Biden administration, whoever is running it, didn't remove one cabinet member in

4:08four years. Trump is giving Democrats skins, scalps, that he does not need to do.

4:142 .0 is imploding, guys.

4:21Second of all, I couldn't disagree with you more.

4:24I don't think that Trump is giving the Democrats scalps.

4:27I think that, if anything, Clay, in this case, it's Trump voters.

4:31It's MAGA who feel very annoyed about what happened with Pam Bondi.

4:36I don't think, there's not some Democrat clamoring that Trump is bending the knee to

4:40here. It's a lot of people who listen to this show who were very bothered

4:46by the way the whole Epstein files thing was handled.

4:49And also, I'll just put it to everyone this way.

4:52What's the big win from the DOJ in the last year?

4:57What's the big thing? We got big win at the border with Border Patrol.

5:02But what's the big win that they've racked up?

5:05I mean, you could say, oh, well, law enforcement, that's really more FBI.

5:08The law enforcement agents helping out in places like Memphis and D .C.

5:12Yeah, there's DOJ, of course, and DOJ is part of FBI.

5:15But that's Akash Patel, first and foremost.

5:18And our friend Dan Bongino, when he was in that deputy role, Clay.

5:22I mean, how do you see this?

5:23I don't view this as...

5:24bending the knee to the left at all.

5:26I think this is Trump just saying, we've got to be a lean, mean machine.

5:29We appreciate her, but we're changing it up.

5:31Yeah, I don't even think this is something that makes Democrats happy at all.

5:37I think that's a poor take from the listener there.

5:41I think Trump has looked at Chrissy Noem and looked at Pam Bondi, and I

5:47actually think he has made the decision that if he's going to change anything, then

5:53he needs to do it, like we said in the first hour, right now, because

5:56you have to get Senate confirmation for the new Attorney General, whomever it is.

6:01There are reports that it might be Lee Zeldin.

6:06Look, we try to be as honest as we can, and we said this in

6:10the first hour. Pam Bondi's bringing in those influencers and giving them the Epstein binders

6:17and then saying, I have the Epstein files on my desk as we're speaking right

6:22now. Maybe we can go grab that clip that was on Fox News, if I

6:26remember correctly, were the biggest unforced errors of the first year and a half of

6:32Trump 2 .0. That's just the reality.

6:34Now, I don't know what's going on behind scenes now that Trump is saying, hey,

6:39I'm ready for a new Attorney General, but I'm not surprised that she's on her

6:45way out, and I don't think this is some sort of scalp that Democrats would

6:49be happy with. Democrats, I don't even think, have come after Pam Bondi that hard,

6:55relatively speaking. Pete Hegseth? Oh, they've come after him with everything they've had for two

7:00straight years. That's who they want.

7:01That would be bending the knee.

7:03I agree with you. There are people in this administration that if they got shoved

7:07out, whether it was true or not, it would look like this was the pressure

7:11of Trump opponents being conceded to.

7:14I don't see that at all, honestly.

7:16And I don't mean this as a slight to Pam Bondi.

7:19I think smart Democrats are like, yeah, keep her there.

7:22Keep her there. Because she hasn't been that effective.

7:25And again, I think she tried.

7:28I think she's a good person.

7:29I appreciate her service to the country.

7:31I just don't think, you look at Kelly, you're going to put her up with

7:34Rubio and Besson, and we've got people that are hitting on all cylinders.

7:38We do not have time to waste.

7:40We do not have learning on the job time here.

7:42And I think that Trump sees that, and he's making the right move.

7:45Again, he's doing it respectfully.

7:46There's no bitterness in this.

7:48People say it's a firing.

7:49It's a replacement. Here is the Fox News details.

7:55Bondi met with Trump in the Oval Office on Wednesday night ahead of his speech

8:00on Iran, where she was reportedly informed of her ousting.

8:04Sources said, this is Fox News reporting, the president is reportedly considering replacing Bondi with

8:10EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, sources added.

8:14Now, first hour, I mentioned two names.

8:17Maybe Lee Zeldin. Trump already knows exactly where he's going to go.

8:20We likely, we've had him on the show a lot over the years.

8:23For those of you maybe not familiar with him, former congressman for New York, ran

8:27a great campaign trying to flip New York in the 2022 election cycle, current EPA

8:34Administrator. Okay. If he were going to go outside, I'll give one in the Senate,

8:39Ted Cruz. When you say, okay, Clay, why do you name a senator?

8:44It would need to be a red state senator.

8:47You would need to trust the governor who would name a replacement.

8:50And that would mean that much like Mark Wayne Mullen, confirmation typically is very easy

8:56when someone is in the United States Senate and they are elevated to the Attorney

9:01General's office. So if he were looking outside of his administration now, I think Ted

9:06Cruz in the Senate, maybe even Mike Lee, senator from Utah, both from red states,

9:11would do great jobs. And then the one outside, Buck, we mentioned this earlier, if

9:15I were picking a governor, if I were picking somebody from outside the administration, Ron

9:18DeSantis would be a dominant Attorney General home run pick.

9:22Those are my outside candidates.

9:24I would put into the mix on all of that.

9:27First of all, I think Ron wants to finish.

9:29The problem is people like what they're doing, right?

9:31In some cases, right? The problem is, you know, Ted likes being a senator and

9:36I think he likes representing the state of Texas.

9:39And I think Ron wants to finish out his term as governor to be a

9:44governor for all time. He's one of the all -time greats.

9:47He's a GOAT governor, as in greatest of all time, for the state of Florida

9:52to transform this place. And so many Floridians, I put myself in this category, are

9:56truly grateful to him and his team and A .G.

10:00Uthmeyer and just everyone who has really made Florida in such a short period of

10:05time this incredible state and a place where so many people want to come live.

10:09The biggest problem now is everyone wants to live here, so housing prices have skyrocketed

10:12because, you know, supply and demand still exists.

10:14Clay, here's one, though. Harmeet Dillon.

10:17Harmeet Dillon, I bet she's in the conversation.

10:20Yeah, super smart. I mean, she's already inside the Department of Justice, so, I mean,

10:24that would be elevating Todd Blanche.

10:27But, yeah, I don't think that's a crazy idea either.

10:30You know, that would be somebody who, from the inside internally, I think would do

10:35a very good job. Already knows the ropes, already knows everything.

10:39I don't really have a read on Todd Blanche, so I can't, I don't know.

10:45Do you have much of a read on Todd?

10:46I know he's the interim, but sometimes the interim just sort of stays on.

10:50That's not, my guess is that's not going to happen, but...

10:52... ... ... ... Do we have a – what's your take on Todd?

10:54Do you have one? I mean, I think he's super smart.

10:56Trump likes him. He's been his personal lawyer in the past.

11:02So there has been reports that Bondi and Blanche worked well together.

11:07And, again, I'm not – obviously, I'm not inside the Department of Justice.

11:11Not like I cover or know either of these very well.

11:15I think he probably is not going to elevate the deputy and leave him there.

11:19If he did, he would have to get Senate confirmation as well.

11:22One thing that I do think is significant, there are reports that she's already flown

11:25back to Florida, Pam Bondi, after being removed last night.

11:30Also, Buck, this was Susie Wiles' pick for attorney general.

11:36Susie Wiles, chief of staff, she said, hey, you can trust former Florida attorney general

11:42Pam Bondi to come in and help here.

11:46Buck, let me give you a crazy scenario since we can sometimes – again, reports

11:51are it's going to be Lee's.

11:52Zeldin, we'll see whether those end up being accurate.

11:55What if Trump elevated Ted Cruz, who's already in the Senate, to attorney general, and

12:02then to solve the controversy that is currently at play in the Senate in Texas,

12:08where you have Ken Paxton and John Cornyn throwing haymakers at each other?

12:12What if the current governor, Greg Abbott of Texas, put Ken Paxton in the Senate

12:20to serve out the remainder of Ted Cruz's term and end the battle over both

12:28of those guys competing in the Senate primary right now?

12:31I'm just saying sometimes – Ted Cruz is not going to be attorney general.

12:35You know why? Ted Cruz is going to run for president.

12:39He is going to run for president, but he may decide that being attorney general

12:43is a better platform to run for president from than – You think so?

12:47I mean, look at the data historically.

12:49Think about the data historically.

12:51There aren't very many senators – Barack Obama obviously was one – that end up

12:57winning. And Joe Biden, I know, was in the Senate for a long time, but

13:00historically prior to – That's a couple recent ones, Clay.

13:04I think I'm correct on this.

13:06Historically prior to Biden, the last senator to be elected president was John F.

13:12Kennedy Jr. So we went 60 years, and we've had one senator, one sitting United

13:19States senator elected as president.

13:21Biden wasn't obviously a sitting senator when he was elected.

13:24Yeah, Republicans tend to want governors, and Democrats tend to elevate.

13:28Now, remember, John Kerry obviously was very close to being president, shockingly close to being

13:34president. So that would be somebody else that was up there.

13:38Kamala Harris, I know she was VP, but, you know, she's really someone from the

13:43– But isn't that kind of a crazy stat?

13:46Since John F. Kennedy in 1960, Barack Obama is the only sitting United States senator

13:52to be elected president. I believe I'm correct in that.

13:56That's kind of – So who was the last attorney general to be president?

14:02RFK Jr., if he hadn't gotten shot, maybe.

14:05Well, that doesn't – yeah, that doesn't count.

14:07Sorry, RFK Sr. Whoa. Yeah.

14:11I think we're going to have RFK Jr.

14:13still alive on the show next week, according to producer Alley.

14:17He would have been the nominee, right?

14:20He was the former attorney general under his brother.

14:23Yeah, well, I just – I think that it's – and I don't believe I'm

14:26speaking out of school here.

14:27I'm just observing this. I think Senator Cruz is great.

14:32You know, him and Trump are great.

14:34Total, total simpatico there. I don't think Cruz wants to be inside the broader chicken

14:41coop of MAGA right now.

14:44I think he's got some – this is what I'm saying.

14:46All of that is a very fair assessment.

14:48Cruz is going to run for president, and he's going to run from outside of

14:52the administration. And we'll see what ends up happening with J .D.

14:55Vance and Marco Rubio. But I'm just trying to think through ways that could help

15:00preserve the Senate majority and save a lot of money that's otherwise going to be

15:05spent. I'm just trying to think through – you know if you were going to

15:09elevate in the United States Senate, you get an easy confirmation if you want somebody

15:14who is going to be in the office quickly, just like what happened with Mark

15:18Wayne Mullen. And you know if you have a red state governor, you don't have

15:22to worry about losing a Senate seat.

15:24Or, for instance, there's nothing we would ever do to Susan Collins.

15:27She's never going to be in the cabinet because she would be replaced by a

15:30Democrat. So it'll be interesting.

15:33And maybe Trump's already made up his mind that Lee Zeldin is the guy.

15:38And if he is, then we'll see how this plays out.

15:41We like Z. Lee. Yes.

15:45We like – you can call him Z, too.

15:48He had a good run at the governor's match, and it didn't work out.

15:52I know he got beat, but that helped a lot, you remember, with the House

15:57because there was enough of a – That's the reason we won.

16:00That's right. Mm -hmm. There was enough of a Republican momentum in the state of

16:07New York that Long Island, where Lee is actually from, was the difference maker.

16:11So anyway, so yeah, again, with Pam Bondi.

21:58Let me read for you what President Trump has just posted.

22:03Pam Bondi is a great American patriot and a loyal friend who faithfully served as

22:09my attorney general over the past year.

22:11Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in crime across our country with

22:16murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900.

22:19We love Pam and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new

22:24job in the private sector to be announced at a date in the near future.

22:29And our Deputy Attorney General and a very talented and respected legal mind, Todd Blanche,

22:34will step in to serve as Acting Attorney General.

22:37Thank you for your attention to this matter, President Trump.

22:41So, Buck, we will see.

22:43If Lee Zeldin is the guy, I would expect that we will hear soon because

22:48he'll have to go get confirmed by the Senate now.

22:51I think he'd be a very solid choice.

22:53And I think, again, I think Pam Bondi, I think Pam Bondi did her best

22:59and people should, you know, greet her exit with applause and thanks.

23:05And so the President's words on this are apt, rightly said or rightly written in

23:12this case. She served her country well and now it's time for somebody else to

23:16step in. No shame in that game.

24:22We are joined now by retired Brigadier General Sean Harris.

24:27He's a cattle farmer from northwest Georgia.

24:29He is running for Congress out of Georgia's 14th District.

24:37His last position was a defense, senior defense policy, sorry, senior defense official, rather, for

24:43the State Department based in Israel.

24:45He is a Democrat -facing Republican candidate, Clay Fuller.

24:52Thank you for joining us on the show.

24:54Hey, guys, it's great. I'm so happy to be on your show.

24:57Look forward to talking to you.

24:59Yeah, absolutely. Can I ask you about this first?

25:02And given that you are a senior defense official for the State Department and you're

25:0740 years in the military, what's your take on how things are going in the

25:10Middle East right now? Yeah, you know, thank you for that question.

25:14The reality of it is we kind of got ourselves in a little bit of

25:19a situation. Obviously, you remember last night the President of the United States.

25:22I'm glad he did come up on the net and talk to the American people.

25:25However, he didn't actually tell the American people, how do we actually get into this

25:29war? And furthermore, he didn't tell us exactly how we're going to get out of

25:34it. And then the last piece is what does it look like the day after?

25:38Because as some of you may know, your villagers may know that if you break

25:42it, you own it. And I just want to make sure that as we're working

25:47our way through this, you know, our military is the most powerful military walk to

25:51face the earth. We will win this war with our military.

25:54But I am concerned if we don't watch it, we can lose this war politically

25:59because the American people don't understand what we're doing and why we're doing it.

26:02If you were in Congress right now and there were a war resolution and the

26:08President was asking to be able to fight Iran, he's saying it's not a war

26:12and they haven't requested this.

26:14But would you have supported the President's strikes in Iran if, based on your background,

26:1940 years in the military, former Brigadier General, would you have said, yes, we should

26:24take the Ayatollah out if you had been asked?

26:27Yeah, you know, the reality of it is when we move to the top secret

26:30side, and I know, if I'm not mistaken, Buck was CIA so he understands exactly

26:34what I'm talking about here, is when we go to the top secret level, I

26:39fully expect the President and his staff to come in and brief Congress.

26:42I also expect Congress to do their job.

26:44And based on that information, if it was a fact that they actually had the

26:49potential to have nuclear weapons again, then yes.

26:52But if it wasn't clear, because we're getting conflicting information at this point, and as

26:58you see, Pam Bundy has just been fired from her job, but we're getting conflicting

27:01information. So based on the information, I would have either voted yes, or based on

27:07the lack of information, I would have told the President, you need to come in

27:10here and tell the American people exactly why we're getting into this, because many of

27:14us did 20 plus years.

27:15years in a forever war and we don't need to do that again general um

27:20so far everything you're saying sounds entirely reasonable and and and well thought out um

27:25i just have this question you're a democrat what's going on yes why why are

27:40i would not be on your show talking to you today if not if my

27:45military fellow veterans wouldn't have came over to my farm when we first got home

27:54too much fire on your belly we looked at your bio you got it whatever

27:59that it is we want you to run against marjorie taylor green in the primary

28:04and when they said the word primary i had to say to them hey guys

28:09i need to have a conversation when they say what i said guys you know

28:12in the military we don't talk about being a democrat independent or republican but i

28:17gotta tell you the truth if we're going to go down a road and a

28:19path like this i am a moderate democrat and they took about a minute and

28:25said okay we still want to support you so it was the republicans here in

28:30northwest georgia who actually recruited me it's republicans in northwest georgia still supporting me however

28:36i am a democrat but i am not tied to a party and that was

28:41makes me different because leadership matters and when i get to dc i'm going to

28:45stand up strictly for the people here in northwest georgia only period and that's when

28:50i get there that's why the republicans want to know how i'm gonna vote and

28:53the democrats want to know how i'm gonna vote now a big part obviously given

28:58how close the house is you know a very slim difference between who the speaker

29:03is whether it's a democrat or republican if you were elected as a democrat though

29:08i presume you would be voting for hakeem jeffries as speaker i you know i

29:15can't just sit here on your show and tell you that because the reality of

29:18it is if the democrats take over the house i'm assuming there's going to be

29:22a lot of people is going to be fighting for that position at the end

29:26of the day my focus will be on whoever that is how is that person

29:31going to be looking at the rural community because i believe that right now the

29:36rural community is being left out and being left behind so i'm going to be

29:40voting for whoever is going to say sean we will make sure that every time

29:47we have a discussion we're looking through a lens of the rural community and oh

29:51by the way sean we're going to get the farm bill done so we can

29:54take care of people in the rural community those farmers that are out there instead

29:57of just talking about it so that's where i'm at i don't know hakeem jeffries

30:01i don't know him personally however i have briefed him in my other capacities brigadier

30:07general harris as a senior defense official in israel so pretty much every leader or

30:13every representative in congress right now i have personally briefed when they came over to

30:20israel so they already know me they know i'm a straight shooter and they know

30:24i can stand on my own two feet and and fight for the people here

30:27in the united states but specifically here in northwest georgia now we're talking to former

30:30brigadier general sean harris he's running in northwest georgia for the congressional seat being vacated

30:37by marjorie taylor green uh as a democrat against clay fuller a republican there's a

30:42big governor's race going on in georgia there's a big senate race going on in

30:46georgia um you say you're a moderate democrat what do you think i'm just kind

30:52curious about men competing in women's sports this happened in atlanta you got leah thomas

31:00who was a man identifying as a woman won an ncaa title uh would you

31:05support that or do you think only men should be in men's sports and women

31:10in women's sports because most democrats publicly right now say if you're a man who

31:14identifies as a woman you should be able to compete in in women's sports yeah

31:20i i tell you i like these type questions because these are the type questions

31:24that try to to take me in a particular path and that's why i say

31:28i'm a moderate democrat where i stand is this i know the difference between a

31:32man and a woman and i want men to play on men's sports women to

31:36play on in women's sports and i want sports to be fair and i want

31:40sports to be fun so that's that's where i'm at and here in northwest georgia

31:44you spoke about atlanta but here in northwest georgia we just trying to make ends

31:49meet we we are trying to make sure that we can feed our families and

31:53bring jobs here and that's why i continue to talk about kitchen table issues i

31:58don't dodge any questions at all but the reality of it is the people here

32:03in northwest georgia democrats independence and yes republicans are saying sean we want you to

32:09stay focused 100 on us and the issue that you're talking about is not an

32:15issue here in northwest georgia because our girls play on girl teams our boys play

32:20on boys teams and that's what makes me different as a moderate republican i'm going

32:25to make sure i stay laser focused on what is happening here in rural america

32:30because i live in rockmark georgia small town small town america that's where i was

32:35born and raised in blakeley georgia southwest georgia and that's what i'm all matter where

32:43you are in the country clearly the federal policy and legislation affects you right and

32:50that's why we have a federal government we have state we have local so for

32:53example the border and illegal immigration i don't care if somebody's in new york city

32:59or they're in rural georgia or they're in you know montana anywhere in the country

33:05illegal immigration is something that affects people because of the of of the uh representation

33:12in congress that it affects because of the costs because of all those things that

33:16we know do you agree with the securing of the border under the trump administration

33:21and would you vote alongside republicans who are trying to for example fund ice and

33:29continue deportations or would you vote with democrats against that yeah let me let me

33:35break your question down into two parts because i i love complex questions but as

33:40a retired general i need to make sure i stay laser focused on your answer

33:43the first part of your question talked about the southern border i agree 100 president

33:49trump got it spot on he got it right because president biden and vice president

33:54harris they lost the ball and they were letting all kind of people in so

33:57when it comes to the southern border i want to be clear the southern border

34:02needs to stay closed and president trump does it right and i'm going to support

34:05him on that now when it comes to immigration the president said that he was

34:10going to actually go at the worst of the worst murderers rapists whatever else i'm

34:15100 behind him on that however the difference is because i've served in our military

34:21and i actually have served with ice ice roll is to be doing things down

34:25by the water and i should be picking up the worst of the worst from

34:29our jails throughout the country they should not be on the street being like a

34:34regular cop because if you kill somebody americans then we definitely have to look at

34:40it so the reality of it is on the second part of the answer is

34:43this i want to make sure that ice is functional but i want to make

34:48sure that they follow the rules of their own organization as regular police officers and

34:53go back into their mission the president of the united states as you as you

34:57know something was going on because he fired whoever was in charge of hh uh

35:01hss and in addition to that i think the new person that just got it

35:06the other day forgive me i can't remember his name as we're speaking i think

35:09you have already starting to see he's starting to make some changes and i believe

35:13those changes are going to be for the better so that is how i would

35:16answer that question because i am different and i i don't like when people try

35:20to put me in a box because sean harris can never be put in a

35:24box because i'm focused right here on the people here in northwest georgia and i

35:29want to make sure that i'm supporting them and what they have said to me

35:32sean make sure that southern border stays closed we're going to do that sean we

35:36want to make sure that ice is doing their job the right way and we're

35:39going to do that sean you sound like a good man you also sound like

35:42a republican so i'm just sitting i don't want to tell you i tell you

35:46maybe that's maybe that's the reason why they came and recruited me and maybe that's

35:50the reason why republicans in this district are saying you know what sean we're going

35:57to give you a chance and if you don't do your job between now and

36:01november we're going to fire you and you know what i said to them perfect

36:06because as a leader i love for people to hold me accountable and that's why

36:52few years we're going to go to a place called mars and when i get

36:55to dc i'm going to make sure that we bring generational jobs right back here

37:00to northwest georgia like huntsville is nowhere from us and those jobs will be the

37:04jobs that our people work in for the rest of their lives and their kids

37:07life and the grand returns life to make sure that we are part of the

37:11mission of putting somebody on mars and that is the difference between me and my

37:16opponent last question for you brigadier general sean harris with us running as the democrat

37:21in northwest georgia in a special election to replace marjorie taylor green and then the

37:26election will happen again uh in november in 2024 did you vote for kamala harris

37:33or donald trump i'm not gonna lie to you i voted for kamala harris however
