0:02Guaranteed human. Welcome back in the Clay Travis Buck Sexton show.

0:07We got some great guests coming your way in the next couple of hours, but

0:10we have got tomorrow, Buck, you mentioned that the Supreme Court is going to be

0:14hearing oral arguments on whether birthright citizenship should or should not be the law of

0:20the land. And look, I'm not optimistic that the Supreme Court is going to be

0:24willing to do what I think they should do, which is say that this whole

0:29concept of that citizenship by soil as opposed to citizenship by blood, which we'll get

0:35into some tomorrow, is going to be really interesting to hear how those questions come

0:40down. But in the meantime, we did have a Supreme Court ruling that came down

0:478 -1 a little bit earlier today, right before, in fact, we came on the

0:51air. 8 -1 Supreme Court ruling saying that a law in Colorado which tried to

0:57ban conversion therapy, which we'll get into a bit, was unconstitutional.

1:03The only justice that lined up and said, hey, I think this ban was constitutional,

1:11was Ketanji Brown -Jackson. And even Elena Kagan went after Ketanji Brown -Jackson, who filed

1:20a 35 -page dissent. And it is, look, I think the last curse of the

1:28Joe Biden era is unfortunately going to be with us for a generation plus, which

1:34is he put a wholly unqualified far left -wing politician, not a judge, far left

1:41-wing politician on the court, and even left -wingers on the court, are, I think,

1:48frankly, embarrassed that Ketanji Brown -Jackson is there.

1:52And, Buck, even Elena Kagan, who, whatever you want to say about Elena Kagan, she

1:56is a smart, principled, leftist jurist, but understands how the law works.

2:02I think former dean of Harvard Law School, you may not agree with her, but

2:07you're going to read her opinion and say there is a foundation of constitutional jurisprudence

2:14undergirding her opinions. That is not occurring here.

2:18And, unfortunately, Ketanji Brown -Jackson basically is going to be worthless for generations now.

2:25But just to give everybody a little bit of a background on this, right?

2:29So the Supreme Court, Clay mentioned, 8 -1 decision, Chiles versus Salazar.

2:35Chiles v. Salazar. And so Kaylee Chiles was a licensed Christian mental health counselor in

2:41Colorado who was giving talk therapy to people, and she was working with clients who

2:48wanted to reduce same -sex attraction.

2:53The state of Colorado had a law in place, and there are other states with

3:00this, that prohibits people who are, this was a licensed therapist, prohibits licensed therapists from

3:06working with people at their request to talk through and reduce same -sex attraction or

3:14gay attraction, right? And, meanwhile, they also had a law, this is the part of

3:20it that was really telling you what's going on, by the way, what happened to

3:23Colorado? I used to think of Colorado as like cowboys in the mountains, and now

3:29it's like communists running wild.

3:32It's just gotten completely, the politics there are going on.

3:35Yeah, and remember, Buck, the Colorado Supreme Court is such a mess that they said

3:41it was constitutional. Everybody forgets.

3:43Democrats tried to take Trump off the ballot in Colorado.

3:47Supreme Court said you can do this.

3:49The United States Supreme Court said 9 -0, you can't.

3:53It's hard to get 9 -0.

3:559 -0, I know. Even Jackson, think about that.

3:57Even crazy Ketanji Brown Jackson was like, guys, you went too far.

4:01Think about how stupid that is.

4:02A state thought that they could remove a person from the ballot who had no

4:07criminal conviction and no constitutional barter running?

4:10Think about how insane that is.

4:12Yes. I mean, did anyone actually ever, and there were people going on MSNBC, I'm

4:16a legal scholar, you know, oh, I defend this, you know.

4:19Anyway, back to this gender therapy or same -sex attraction therapy stuff.

4:25Clay, if somebody went in, though, seeking therapy to make them more trans, that was

4:32under the law, yes. You could make somebody more, you could push somebody down the

4:36trans path, but you could not push them back from the edge of the gay

4:41path, essentially. And so the law was clearly, I mean, this is obviously First Amendment

4:47discrimination. There's no, eight justices found this to be First Amendment discrimination.

4:53Ketanji Brown Jackson decided that words were medical care in this context.

4:59So essentially, she was treating this like a surgery.

5:03And so if you tell somebody, hey, maybe you're not gay, maybe you're just in

5:07a moment of confusion in your sexuality, you know, but this was for minors, mind

5:11you. So these are including teenagers.

5:13Maybe you're not gay. Maybe you're having a moment.

5:15Let's talk this through. That's like doing a unchangeable surgery on somebody, which, by the

5:22way, they do on the other side.

5:24For the trans people, they actually do surgery, but words here were being treated by

5:30Ketanji Brown -Jackson. I mean, she really is.

5:33She's the MSNBC comments section made into a Supreme Court justice.

5:37She is untethered to the law and unhinged when it comes to the Constitution.

5:44It kind of gave you a sense that there was a discomfort with her being

5:49on the Supreme Court, where a lot of times they're very collegial relationships, even across

5:54different perspectives on how to apply constitutional jurisprudence.

6:00I think Scalia and RBG were tight.

6:01That's a great example. They were very good friends, even though intellectually they disagreed very

6:07often. There was an acceptance of a principled disagreement on how to apply the law

6:14across, to Buck's point, Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, both very smart and had different

6:21readings. Elena Kagan, I think that there are a lot of people out there who

6:24say, hey, I may not agree with her renderings of judgment, but I trust the

6:30intellectual heft that she is bringing to bear on those opinions.

6:34When Amy Coney Barrett, Buck, I thought it was very significant.

6:38Amy Coney Barrett does not seem like the kind of person who wants to take

6:41a two -by -four to people very often.

6:43She seems like what she is, a mom who tries to be kind.

6:47And some of her responses to Ketanji Brown -Jackson were the equivalent, judicially, of just

6:54throwing your hands up in the air and saying, I can't even stomach these arguments.

6:58They're embarrassing. They don't recognize any past precedent.

7:03And Elena Kagan kind of did that in this 8 -1 opinion.

7:07Again, on the left, Elena Kagan kind of saying, like, come on, this is an

7:13utterly ridiculous, to your point, Buck, I think it's a, you know, blue sky Reddit

7:19board far left wing take.

7:22And that's fine if you have far left wing takes.

7:25But being a judge who does this is just, again, I think the final, final

7:32awful echo and reverberation of the Biden administration that unfortunately is going to be with

7:38us for generations. And he told us that he was going to limit the pool

7:45to black female jurists, which, given the actual interpretation of the Constitution in most recent

7:53years, is really not okay.

7:55You're not allowed to do that.

7:56I don't know how you, I don't know what you can do about the legality

7:59of such a thing. But, Clay, if you, if we put out a job, let's

8:02just say we put out a job opening for this show and we said, hey,

8:06guys, great opening. You know, we got, we got great producers here.

8:10We're going to have a fabulous team for you to work with.

8:13We're only hiring black women for this job.

8:16Yeah. We would be sued and we would lose.

8:18Yes. No question. And by the way, rightly so.

8:21Like, that would be a clear violation of, of the standards that you can use

8:27under the Constitution and under non -discrimination and employment.

8:30That's how he set up a Supreme Court appointment.

8:33He said it out loud, too.

8:35It's not, it's not like we're, we're surmising this.

8:37He said it out loud.

8:39And, and you have somebody who is just, I, I agree with you, by the

8:43way. I don't, I see things differently than Kagan, but I respect that she's at

8:47least trying to stay within the law.

8:49Yeah. Katanji Brown Jackson, you know what she's going to do more or less based

8:54upon what your standard MSNBC watching leftist wants to happen.

9:01Yeah. Which is not the way it's supposed to be.

9:03Yeah. And again, it's not even a judge opinion.

9:08It's just crazy left -wing opinion.

9:11And I said this at the time, Katanji Brown Jackson's appointment under federal law was

9:16unconstitutional. What do I mean by that?

9:19You are not allowed under federal law to say, I am only going to consider

9:24a black woman for a job.

9:26First of all, it's demeaning to the black woman because if you pick a black

9:31woman for a job and you've eliminated, what is it, 97%, I think, of lawyers,

9:3798%, maybe even, were eliminated on their face when Biden said, I'm only going to

9:43pick a black woman. So you're saying, I'm only picking a judge from 2 %

9:47of the legal community. And then he picked one that was not particularly astute or

9:55talented in the black female legal community.

9:58Can we unpack this for a second?

10:00Let's unpack this for a second.

10:01He picked her. She had been a judge before.

10:04Okay. Did she have a leg up in that appointment because she was a black

10:08woman? Yes. The only reason she got the job in the first place was because

10:12she was a black woman.

10:13But I'm saying, you know, just keep working it back from there.

10:16Oh, she went to Harvard Law.

10:18Okay. What were her LSATs?

10:21Did she have a leg?

10:22We know that, generally speaking, overwhelmingly, black students of her age that went to Harvard

10:30would have had a tremendous benefit from their race that, as we know, the Supreme

10:35Court has actually said, you were not supposed to have.

10:37You're not supposed to have that.

10:39That's wrong. So you can work it all the way back.

10:42And people, because when you'll say, oh, she's not qualified, they'll say, well, she was

10:45a judge before and she went to Harvard Law.

10:47Yeah. Well, did she have those things because she was a black female?

10:50You know, these are these are entire.

10:52valid questions which i know until recently we're told we're not allowed to ask these

10:57questions but actually no you can ask these questions um because like we said elena

11:01kagan is a uh is is a you know a gay woman she's a lesbian

11:05um she's a very talented lawyer and she's very very smart yeah so it's not

11:11about identity but the left makes it about identity there are black women who would

11:16be great on the supreme court there are black women who would absolutely deserve that

11:20job i don't think that uh katanji brown jackson is one of them i agree

11:25and that's just you know observing what we can all see here because they they

11:30never say look at the look at the depth and clarity of the opinions i

11:34know they have staffs but the opinions put out on her look at the depth

11:37and clarity clay she speaks like five times as much as all the other jerks

11:41together or something i mean it's not that much but it's a lot well and

11:44again that goes to i think that she has broken a lot of the collegial

11:48norms i think a lot of people are fed up with her on the court

11:52and i think even leftists are of the opinion like elena kagan is where they

11:58just kind of roll their eyes and say this is a poor choice and she's

12:01going to be there buck for 30 more years a very long time well but

12:04also it's a reminder biden we got sold on biden to the degree that we

12:10were actually sold on him just let let's let's let's just take let's move past

12:14that for a second you know the country was sold on biden so to speak

12:17as the uniter clay and as he's not a radical well what better what better

12:22example can you have of the actual radicalism and practice of the biden administration which

12:28we could sit here and we did for years talk about it but we know

12:32whether it's the covet stuff or the spending or the trans policies or the wide

12:36open border joe biden was the trojan horse for far left obamaist policy if you

12:44will and there's no better example of him being a far left figurehead than katanji

12:50brown jackson that's the supreme that's the moderate supreme court justice that we get from

12:55a biden administration also remember that he picked kamala harris after saying he would pick

13:02a woman as his running mate and eliminating all men from consideration and then he

13:07took it a step further by saying i will only pick a black woman um

13:12and uh and the result is i think we have ended up with the least

13:16qualified most political supreme court justice in any of our lives and i was just

13:21looking up to see how old she is um and unfortunately buck we're gonna probably

13:26have her if uh if age is any uh expectation for another 30 years i

13:32would also point this out as we go to break here supreme court requires a

13:38majority senate approval there is a possibility out there that republicans could lose the supreme

13:44court could lose the senate in november and that trump basically would not be able

13:49to get anybody appointed just like with ruth uh bader ginsburg who thought hey i'm

13:54gonna live forever and left behind the opportunity to have obama be able to appoint

13:59her replacement look at this situation right now we've got clarence thomas around 75 we've

14:06got alito around 74 if i'm not mistaken it may be five or six years

14:12until republicans have what they have now which is control of the senate and the

14:18presidency to be able to control who gets on the supreme court everybody who gets

14:23into their 70s seems to think that they're going to live forever and be healthy

14:26forever the data often reflects that's not true at all all right last night i

16:25married and have kids and uh true to form i believe you have a young

16:29child in the background but that child is sleeping i think i've been told right

16:33now so if she starts to scream everything is fine but you are living as

16:37you have preached uh buck uh was pointing out i got married when i was

16:4125 isabel um and i had my first uh we had our first kid when

16:46i was 28 uh he is now going off to college uh this coming fall

16:50um and uh it's best decision that i ever made we're fortunate to have three

16:55um and i got started somewhat young for a lot of men at least who

16:59go to school for a long time um what has your experience been like and

17:04what is the reaction to the view attacking you been like because i i just

17:09think this is amazing that you got attacked for telling people get married and have

17:12kids is a way to be happy yeah you know clay i'll say first i

17:16love that the views most hated woman i might have to make that my instagram

17:20bio moving forward that's pretty fun and in true working mom fashion uh as expected

17:25based on what happened yesterday we're in a crazy busy schedule so thank you guys

17:29for all bearing with me clearly i'm on the road between a million different news

17:32hits today my daughter is speaking in the background but truly like you said this

17:36has been the greatest honor of my lifetime i had a baby at 28 as

17:40well she'll be one at the end of next month and though i am still

17:43a working mom and working full -time my relationship with my husband and my relationship

17:47with my daughter will be infinitely more important to me than my paycheck than at

17:51any other time in my life especially right now so i had the audacity to

17:55share that on stage at cpac last week as part of a question i was

17:59asked on a larger panel about the importance of family and never in my wildest

18:04dreams as a conservative podcaster did i expect that would be what the view is

18:08attempting to cancel me over yet here we are where someone like whoopi goldberg has

18:13the audacity to actually look in the camera and say if you tell women to

18:17have as many children as they want to then i'm sending you back to the

18:21past insinuating that that is not a valid choice and you should not want children

18:26if you are a member of generation z in this country i for one i'm

18:30really grateful because the demons are getting pretty loud but it's so obvious to me

18:35which side is for american families and for actual women's empowerment in 2026 you know

18:40isabel i have to tell you i think that the message that you're putting out

18:44there and you're a great messenger for it and i really mean this i i

18:48hope that you can get out and and speak you know just to as many

18:53young women especially who are on that you know starting off that career track you

19:00know they want to make partner at goldman or they want to be uh you

19:03know a partner at cravath or or whatever you know whatever those are big names

19:08in new york city you know they want to be the law firm in dc

19:11or the big law firm in atlanta or they want to be the marketing firm

19:14in chicago and there's so much in the culture that tells them wait wait wait

19:19grind it out like a guy in your 20s in terms of the hours i

19:24gotta tell you because i'm on the other side of this yeah you know you're

19:27so young that i can ask your age what are you you're like you're you're

19:29not even 30 yet are you how old are you i am 28 yeah you're

19:3328 so you're you're a youngin i mean you're you're you're a young blood i'm

19:37i'm 44 clay is like 70 i don't even know how old clay is like

19:41clay is like he's like he's like gandalf the wizard on this show and and

19:46i sit here and i say i have so many peers women my age that

19:50i grew up with particularly in new york and they turned around at 40 and

19:54maybe they had the big career maybe they didn't but they turned around and said

19:58okay time to find a guy and get married because they deprioritized it and it

20:03didn't happen and they're so unhappy about it and they tell me this and for

20:09the view not to be honest with with its audience about this i think is

20:13just really just really disgraceful disgraceful is a perfect word for it and honestly what's

20:19even more disturbing to me is that every single woman sitting around that table yesterday

20:23except for one has children and every one of them except for one has either

20:28been married in the past or is currently married the one who isn't is engaged

20:32to be married so it's good enough for them and they're able to make this

20:35working mom lifestyle work but it's not good enough for general people who apparently can't

20:40afford to spend 400 000 on child care every year talk about just blatant propaganda

20:47and lies and what's really sad to me too beyond all of this clan buck

20:51is that as a working mom in particular i i realized that there are sacrifices

20:55that have to be made everywhere in order to make that type of lifestyle work

20:59my mom as a working mom always famously said you can have it all but

21:02not at the same time and you need a great team uh behind you to

21:05make that happen but how unbelievably pathetic with the bigotry of low expectations to tell

21:10women that it is not possible to have a thriving career and to have children

21:14look at our second lady of the united states look at the white house press

21:18secretary look at partners in law firms and news anchors uh and entrepreneurs and investment

21:23bankers all over this country who are figuring out a way to manage both but

21:28more importantly to prioritize their family and share that with their children in the process

21:32if you are a young woman listening to this today thinking you cannot have a

21:35career and a family at the same time you absolutely can and stop letting democrats

21:39tell you that's not possible well and look uh thank you for coming on with

21:43us and we've talked about this with you before um to me having a baby

21:47uh is exactly Actually, the most important thing that a couple could do, because this

21:52is one where I don't think it gets any attention.

21:55Everybody wants to talk about catastrophes and how awful things can be.

21:59Many of the greatest Western civilizations in the world are having their population collapse.

22:05Japan, Italy, many parts of the United States, because if women don't have an average

22:11of 2 .1 children, then the population collapses in a hurry.

22:15I was looking at the data on South Korea the other day.

22:18I think in South Korea, it's less than one child.

22:20So while you're focusing on the United States, this is actually a Western civilization, highly

22:26educated, major issue that is occurring across the world right now.

22:31We used to talk about being too much population.

22:34There's a legitimate argument that the population of the world has already peaked and has

22:39begun to collapse. And, you know, that doesn't seem ideal to me.

22:44No, not ideal. In fact, the ladies of The View screamed about how we have

22:488 billion people on the planet.

22:49What's a few more? Why do we need to have a few more?

22:52In fact, 55 % of the countries on the face of this planet that make

22:55up two -thirds of the world's population are below replacement rate, meaning they're not having

23:012 .1 children per family.

23:02We are not in an overpopulation crisis.

23:04We are in a severely underpopulation crisis.

23:07And it's time for us all to pitch in because we love humanity and we

23:11want it to continue to thrive.

23:12One other thing here I think is important, Isabel, cost.

23:18People throughout history have managed to raise children.

23:22You mentioned The View said it costs $400 ,000 or whatever the heck they said.

23:27Buck and I were just talking about this.

23:29I think that having children actually makes parents make more rational choices and put themselves

23:37in better positions than they would be if they didn't have children because your stakes

23:43as a provider go up so much more significantly than if you're just a single

23:49person. In other words, I think career success often follows parenthood as opposed to the

23:55reverse. Absolutely correct. We're covering this at length in my full, unadulterated response to The

24:02View from my episode of my podcast.

24:04But it turns out a new study that came out last year actually found, my

24:08daughter wants to weigh in, that your wealth throughout your lifetime goes up by 23

24:13% if you have children because you are making those smarter decisions in investing for

24:18your future and saving for retirement, making sure you're providing for your family.

24:22This lie that all of a sudden, A, the most important thing is your bank

24:25account is insane, but B, that all of a sudden you're going to be severely

24:29impoverished and living in poverty for the rest of your life if you have a

24:33child is truly just another arm of the propaganda that they must peddle in order

24:37to convince young women to abandon the idea of a family.

24:40Do you feel like, we're speaking to Isabel Brown of the Daily Wire, got to

24:44give some shout outs, go check out her podcast because she's got kids to feed.

24:48But if we're speaking to Isabel Brown about what's going on here in this conversation

24:52that she's taken on just by telling women the truth and the women of The

24:57View taking umbrage really, and I think that's the proper word, umbrage.

25:01Some of it is just their Trump derangement, of course.

25:03They're like, how could you have kids in a world where Donald Trump is president?

25:07It's like, uh, I don't know, to not have kids because Trump is president is

25:11certifiably insane and should probably institutionalize if that's your point of view.

25:14But beyond that, I feel like the culture is starting to change.

25:19There's a shift now, Isabel, where it's not considered anti -women or anti -female, or

25:24at least you can't be shouted down the same way for saying things like, one,

25:28being a mom for most moms that I've ever talked to, and I know a

25:31lot of moms, I'm married to one, and I had one, um, that being a

25:36mom is the job that they revere the most of all jobs.

25:40And number two, that sure, if you want to pursue a career, if you have

25:44a certain area of excellence that you want to pursue in the workplace, that's fine.

25:48There's nothing wrong with being a mom and taking a break from that and going

25:53back to it later. That I just feel like, you know, I had so many

25:56women in my class at Amherst, I'll just speak to my personal experience, I'll speak

25:59from the eye perspective, who went into investment banking.

26:03And Clay, I remember thinking at the time, that's a horrible idea.

26:07Because all the guys who are doing it are going to crash out, they're not

26:12going to last more than a few years for the most part, they're going to

26:14try to transition to other areas of finance.

26:16They were essentially mortgaging their 20s to make money in abundance so that they could

26:22then be a provider for a family later on.

26:25Women don't have to make these same choices.

26:27They don't have to compete in areas like this if they don't want to.

26:32And I just feel like they're being pushed into this in a lot of capacity.

26:34Again, they should have the freedom to do whatever they want work -wise.

26:37I get that. But I feel like the culture has shifted.

26:39And they're telling women, you can be a mom, it's okay.

26:42You can be a mom young, and it's okay.

26:44You can pick a career later, and it's okay.

26:48You're absolutely right. And I do think it also matters, if I can jump in

26:51here for a second, to say there is a gender divide here that matters very,

26:55very deeply. Recently, Pew Research found that for young men under 35, their number one

27:00and number two political priorities are to get married and to have children.

27:04But for women under 35, whether you voted for Donald Trump or Kamala Harris in

27:08the last major election, that's their second -to -last priority, politically speaking, at the personal

27:13level. And at the country level.

27:15It's because of this propaganda that's being directly targeted to young women in particular and

27:20why it matters for female voices and these beautiful feminine voices with influence.

27:26People like Brett Cooper and Riley Gaines and Allie Beth Stuckey promoting the joy of

27:30motherhood to this generation. That's how we continue to continue shifting that culture the same

27:35way you just mentioned, but buck the trend of all of this crazy stuff we

27:38see on The View and the likes of other network shows.

27:41I want to let you talk to young women on this in particular, but Buck

27:45and I were just talking about it before you came on.

27:48There is a biological difference between men and women when it comes to having children,

27:54particularly if women out there are thinking, hey, I'd like to have two or I'd

27:58like to have three, which is, I think, why population is often collapsing.

28:02Because if women wait until they're 35 to have their first kid, the math on

28:06having multiple kids becomes very difficult.

28:08If men wait until they're 35 to have their first kid and marry younger, we

28:12don't have the same biological constraints.

28:15Does part of this tie in to trying to convince women that men and women

28:19are exactly equal biologically? I see this as connected with men being able to play

28:25women's sports and all these things.

28:26There's a big difference between the sexes and women are being sold a bill of

28:31goods. Men don't have to think about babies, frankly, as early as women do.

28:35Yeah. Well, Clay, that's so oppressive of you.

28:38How dare you say that remotely is a biological difference between men and women?

28:43The women of The View actually pointed this out yesterday on the show that we're

28:46all one group of women.

28:48And I'm realizing now they're admitting that you do need a uterus in order to

28:52qualify as a woman. It's impossible to be a woman with a penis.

28:56So glad we arrived here in 2026.

28:57All of that said, there's certainly a biological component to all of this.

29:01And I don't find it coincidental that as you've seen the decline of the American

29:05family from the numbers perspective and the decline in our fertility rate, you're also watching

29:10one in seven married couples today trying to conceive, facing what they're calling unexplained infertility,

29:16because this is waiting so much later in life to when you're facing all kinds

29:20of issues that's also being exacerbated by our food supply and the pharmaceutical industry.

29:25But the reason the fertility rate is the lowest it's been in 100 years in

29:28America today in 2026 is largely because women are just choosing not to have kids.

29:35That is a severe problem.

29:36It's something that you don't have the opportunity to go back in time and reverse

29:39and needs to be messaged to women while they're young.

29:42And that ability is before them.

29:43Women should have kids in their 20s biologically.

29:46That's just the reality. Isn't it strange that to say that it's almost like you

29:50can't say anymore, or at least they try to make you not say that women

29:55do not, in fact, have penises.

29:56You're also not allowed to say that biologically it's best for women.

30:00They have the highest chance of success, the highest chance of a successful pregnancy, all

30:03those things in their 20s, in their 30s.

30:06Yes, too. But it starts to go down in your 40s.

30:08You're talking about really it's called the geriatric pregnancy.

30:11Over 35. It's high risk for a reason.

30:15That's what it is called.

32:52program as the launch date for artemis is set to happen tomorrow uh assuming the

32:59weather remains strong uh and in good stead there we are rolling through the program

33:05i want to mention you stock market up nearly a thousand points as the overall

33:10um uh temperature i think it's fair to say in iran is being dialed back

33:16we've got a lot of different topics to get into with our guests now chip

33:20roy running for attorney general of texas and we'll get into some major domestic politics

33:26related issues but uh congressman right off the top let's just kind of obviously the

33:32iran story is huge uh you talk with the white house quite a lot uh

33:36you know the oil and gas industry well as you represent the state of texas

33:41if the president were to ask your advice um as it pertains to where we

33:46are about a month into the strikes on iran you would tell him what as

33:51it pertains to the best possible outcome at this point well clay great to be

33:56on i mean first of all i think what the president's doing uh is uh

33:59important for resetting the entire field over there and he's putting a lot of pressure

34:04uh on our enemies to be blunt russia china uh who are feeling the strain

34:10of this and even europe who have not been stepping up there uh uphold their

34:13end of the bargain as he noted today so you guys should go over here

34:16and invest in order to open up the straits now the good news is we've

34:20seen a lot of the oil moving through the straits i think my advice which

34:23i would be offer very carefully because he's commander in chief he's in charge of

34:27our uh national security foreign policy but my advice is look stay the course on

34:32making sure we take out iran's offensive capabilities both conventional and nuclear stay the course

34:39on doing that that was the long -term threat that's why they've had the destabilization

34:43over the last five decades but but not to get too invested in this such

34:48that we're in a quagmire where we've got boots on the ground and a massive

34:51expenditure like the american people don't really want to go down that road so let's

34:55let's knock out their capabilities let's keep up the diplomatic pressure let's put pressure on

34:59the rest of the world to step up and stop iran from continuing to have

35:03the threats that they have and uh and then we can get back in the

35:07business of worrying about the election in the fall i'm going to say credit to

35:09the president you know politically people have said don't do this right and he saw

35:13the moment to go try to knock the knees out from under iran both for

35:16our benefit uh obviously to support our ally israel but importantly to reset the global

35:21geopolitical landscape and he's done that i just my caution is do not get you

35:26know uh mired in a quagmire uh with respect to troops on the ground over

35:30there for any extended period of time congressman appreciate you being with us it's buck

35:34uh can we talk about this situation of the dhs and tsa and the funding

35:38and and where this all stands now it looks like and we think that it

35:42might have had some of its at least genesis on this show uh with an

35:46idea from a caller but it looks like the ice backfill um of tsa agents

35:52has at least alleviated some of the strain at the airports and and now where

35:56does all of this stand with congress the whole thing is just such a disgrace

36:01that people's you know vacations work trips all this stuff were ruined so that chuck

36:06schumer could could uh could nag us all about ice enforcement what what is the

36:12status of the funding and what happens next well i think as everybody saw last

36:17week i i just want to give a big shout out to speaker mike johnson

36:20for doing i think the right thing of having the house representatives send a shot

36:23back to the senate making very clear we believe we should fund all of the

36:27department of homeland security tsa fema coast guard but importantly ice and border patrol and

36:32we weren't going to allow the democrats to isolate isolate uh ice and border patrol

36:36uh we need to stay behind all of them i know that we're working through

36:40ways to break the back of the democrats who are refusing to fund these important

36:45security agencies when we're engaged in conflict with iran and we had uh terrorist uh

36:50attacks here on our own soil uh and where we've got you know rattling by

36:55hezbollah and others in the meantime we have a weakened state with without full funding

36:59for coast guard ice border patrol so god bless the president for moving money around

37:03for tsa god bless the president and congress for having money in the big beautiful

37:07bill that's giving us flexibility to deal with the democrats who do not seem to

37:11care that they're in danger in our country for their political uh purposes i think

37:15where we stand is i think the senate needs to come back in i do

37:18not think they should be gone for this two -week uh recess they need to

37:22come back in uh work to get a funding bill done like we passed out

37:25of the house if we have to do it the reconciliation fine but what we

37:29shouldn't do i think is isolate ice and border patrol to be used as a

37:31pinata and a punching bag by the democrats um that's what they want let's do

37:36what we want let's fully fund the security of the united states which is what

37:40the american people want us to do what did you think when the senate left

37:43on a two -week vacation and you guys were still working on the house side

37:47yeah pretty frustrating uh for them to dump that bill on us late thursday night

37:52that two in the morning vote by voice vote by the way without full disclosure

37:56to a lot of my friends who are in the senate and then all of

37:59a sudden we're looking at this bill going look your message heading out of town

38:02is to fund dhs minus ice and border patrol and we looked at that and

38:08said look yes we want to support tsa yes we want I want to support

38:11the Coast Guard, but we're not going to leave ICE and Border Patrol stranded.

38:15Yes, we can go pull some money out of the big, beautiful bill to limp

38:18through it, but it's not easy to do, and the dollars will run out.

38:22We have a lot of our civilian folks, the support staff, people that were writing

38:25into us, calling us, saying, hey, guys, we're left dangling here.

38:29We don't think that's the right way to do business.

38:30So my feeling was, and the Speaker, God bless him, said, nope, the House is

38:34going to stand strong. We're going to fund it all.

38:36Send that back over to the Senate, and that's where we stand.

38:39Now, again, we should go back to Washington.

38:41As you guys know, I'm on the campaign trail for Attorney General.

38:44It is in my personal interest to be in the state of Texas, both so

38:48I can see my family, but so I can be campaigning.

38:50But my job as a congressman, we need to deliver.

38:54So I'll do whatever we need to do.

38:55I'll fly back up there in two hours if I need to, if the Speaker

38:59calls us back. But we ought to get together.

39:01Now, I've been having conversations with him, with the Director of the Office of Management

39:05and Budget, the White House, with my friends in the Senate, Jody Arrington, a fellow

39:08Texan, who's the chairman of the Budget Committee, with whom I worked to get the

39:11big, beautiful bill done last year.

39:13We're talking about options. We want to fund the security needs of the United States

39:18fully and not let the Democrats undermine it.

39:21And that's our goal, and that's what we intend to try to do.

39:24Speaking of Chip Roy of Texas, Congressman, something that we've been talking about a lot

39:28on the show, because it's a big issue for the whole country.

39:31And I think that President Trump, with his federal initiatives on helping high -crime cities,

39:39has shown what is possible.

39:41You have a crime bill that you are interested in bringing forth and making the

39:48law of the land. What would it do, and what do you think is the

39:52mood of the American people right now for law enforcement and enforcing laws through our

39:59courts in general when it comes to career criminals, particularly violent criminals?

40:03Well, I think people have seen the dangerous reality of putting people on the streets

40:09who shouldn't be there. And, you know, you see these pendulum shifts.

40:13You know, those of us were old enough to remember the 80s and early 90s.

40:15We then cracked down on crime that was bipartisan, and we had a relatively safe

40:19country. And then now we've seen this pendulum back.

40:21They've been letting criminals out on the streets.

40:23You know, all of these groups, Arabella, the Soros -funded groups, the Wren Collective, all

40:28of these entities that have put bad DAs and bad judges in place, they're letting

40:31criminals out. Well, when we fixed it 30 years ago, we had a three -strikes

40:36-and -your -out provision, right?

40:37We had harsher penalties and sentencing guidelines.

40:41So what I wanted to do, and, you know, I was a former federal prosecutor.

40:44I've watched those get watered down over the last two decades.

40:47But there were some criticisms that I took into account.

40:51For example, people said in the three -strikes -and -your -out, you shouldn't have one

40:55of your strikes be a random misdemeanor, drug possession, or something when you were a

40:59juvenile. And I said to myself, okay, fine.

41:02So let's prioritize the point.

41:04So in the bill that I drafted, I tried to put more emphasis behind a

41:09three -strikes -and -your -out regime again to give it more power by basically putting

41:15a tiered system in place so there's points.

41:18So if you have a, you know, a dangerous felony that you're committing and you've

41:22got three strikes of those, you're out.

41:23That's permanent. But if you're, if it's a low -level misdemeanor, that would be a

41:27quarter point or a half point.

41:29Frankly, I mean, I think it's giving in a way that should get a significant

41:34amount of support. But the goal here is to reestablish a framework by which there

41:39is a legislative requirement that you put these guys in jail and don't let them

41:43out and stand in the way of judges or DAs who are not prosecuting or

41:48giving them sentences that would keep them off the streets.

41:51So I try to take away the excuses, if that makes sense, by restructuring the

41:56regime to make sure criminals stay in jail.

41:58We're talking to Congressman Chip Roy.

42:00He is running for Attorney General of Texas.

42:03If you were Attorney General, one of your top focuses, I would imagine, in Texas

42:08would be prosecuting violent criminals and ensuring that they end up behind bars.

42:13You're in Washington, D .C.

42:14right now. Last year, 125 -year low, according to data for murders.

42:21In Washington, D .C., so far this year compared to last year, murders are down

42:2765%, according to the official Metro D .C.

42:32data that I am looking at right now.

42:34Sex abuse charges down 67%.

42:38Is it what we've seen in D .C.

42:41and what we've seen in Memphis strong evidence that, as you're laying out with your

42:46potential bills, we don't have to deal with violent crime?

42:49We can actually drive it down to levels that we've never seen before and make

42:54all of us safer? Absolutely, and it's the first order of government, right?

43:00And, you know, look, people ask me, why are you running for Attorney General?

43:03It's because I believe that the state of Texas is under attack.

43:06And I won't go through the entire list of things, but border, obviously, and the

43:10issue that we've been dealing with out there, thank God we've got President Trump.

43:13But the open border was destructive to Texas.

43:15It was also putting criminals on our streets, putting gang members on our streets, endangering

43:19our people. In addition to the March of Islam across Texas and other issues that

43:23we're dealing with, the issue of crime on our streets is a big one.

43:27And, you know, Texas is known for law and order and justice.

43:29But if you look at what we've been dealing with in Houston and Dallas and

43:32Austin and San Antonio with these DAs and these judges that are leaving the criminals

43:37on the streets, you see what happens.

43:38And what the president did, he demonstrated that a strong law and order and presence

43:43of our law enforcement makes an enormous difference.

43:46And that's not rocket science.

43:49It's just common sense. But it takes courage and leadership to stand against the woke

43:54leftists, the Marxists, who are totally fine with us being in danger because they say

43:58that somehow it is inappropriate or racist to say that we need to have law

44:03enforcement on the streets. But the funny thing is, when you talk to Hispanic Texans,

44:07black Texans, people of all walks of life, they all want to have the streets.

44:12So that's the first order of business of government.

44:14As attorney general, I'll be working hard to do that, to secure the border, to

44:17put criminals behind bars, to work with local law enforcement to do it, to stop

44:21these judges, to stop these activist DAs, who, by the way, are well -funded.

44:25This is one last important point.

44:26Whether you're talking about crime, whether you're talking about these groups, Soros, whether you're talking

44:31about the Islamist movement across the state of Texas and the country, you've got to

44:34go after the NGOs and the nonprofits.

44:36The attorney general has massive power to open up their books, all of them, look

44:41at what they're doing, see where they're violating the law, and then pull their charter

44:44and shut them down. We've got to go after these groups who are organized against

44:48us and undermining our society and endangering us.

44:51Congressman Roy, I appreciate you being with us, sir.

47:29And we bring in now the director of NASA, the head of the space agency,

47:33Jared Isaacman. And this is a super exciting work.

47:36Buck and I are very excited to talk with you.

47:40I know it's a very serious time for you guys.

47:43But I wanted to start with this question before we get into the space launch.

47:47There is talk that we are going to be putting a base on the moon.

47:54Moon base, I guess, would be one way to put that.

47:57What would that look like?

47:58And what does that goal in terms of time stretch out to?

48:02Because that sounds pretty amazing.

48:05Well, first of all, it's great to be on the show.

48:07Great to talk about the exciting mission that's scheduled to launch tomorrow.

48:11And you're absolutely right, right?

48:13President Trump and his national space policy said, pick up where Apollo 17 left off.

48:19Send astronauts to the moon.

48:21Do it frequently. But don't just go to put the flag there and leave the

48:25footsteps behind. Build an enduring presence.

48:28Build a moon base. Realize the scientific and economic value.

48:32Do the in -situ resource manufacturing, the experimentation, the testing that's going to be necessary.

48:37So someday you can take the next giant leap to Mars.

48:42So a base on space?

48:46How long until we can?

48:48I'm sorry. Oh, yeah. On the moon.

48:50But that would be in space, Clay.

48:51I was going to say a base in space.

48:54How long till we complete this race?

48:55I was trying to have a little rhyme fun here.

48:57But you jumped in. That's fair enough.

48:58Mr. Administrator, can you tell us what would this be able to do?

49:03And are we setting up the basic infrastructure?

49:06here for a whole new generation or new generations of space travel, leveraging space for

49:15things here on Earth, including low Earth orbit, things like the data centers that will

49:21be able to be put there.

49:23I mean, what does the future of this look like?

49:25I know this amazing launch is coming up, but what's going to be happening after?

49:29Yeah, absolutely. Well, let me tell you about it.

49:31So let's talk about the astronaut side of things.

49:33So tomorrow, Artemis 2 is going to launch.

49:36We're going to send four astronauts farther into space than we've ever sent humans before.

49:40They're going to go faster than humans have ever traveled before.

49:44So 250 ,000 miles away from Earth going 25 ,000 miles an hour on a

49:5010 -day journey to test out the spaceship before they'll splash down off the West

49:54Coast. That's Artemis 2. That journey begins tomorrow.

49:57Next up, Artemis 3, 2027.

50:00We're going to launch the same rocket this time.

50:03The astronauts are going to rendezvous and dock with the lunar lander in Earth orbit,

50:08test out the integrated systems.

50:10This is just how we did it during the Apollo era, during Apollo 9.

50:13And then we're going to use that to gain confidence to land those astronauts on

50:17the moon in 2028 on Artemis 4.

50:20Now, in parallel, we're building the base.

50:23Again, we're not just going there to pick up the rocks this time.

50:25And we're going to stay.

50:27So starting in the beginning of 2027, people are going to be able to witness,

50:32on a near monthly cadence, robotic landings on the moon.

50:36We're going to have rovers driving around.

50:38We're going to be testing out uncrewed mobility, crude mobility, power generation, navigation.

50:44We're going to do surface improvements.

50:46We are going to learn as much as we can in preparation for when the

50:50astronauts arrive. And I'll tell you, we're going to bring everybody along with us.

50:53We're going to put observation satellites up, communication satellites.

50:56Heck, there's going to be a NASA moon -based website where people are going to

51:00log in and watch the moon base being constructed almost in real time.

51:04This is all incredible. It has been, for people out there, this is kind of

51:10extraordinary. In 1903, I believe I'm right, Orville and Wilbur Wright began to fly.

51:17In 1969, we put men on the moon.

51:20So 66 years from the creation of the first aircraft, the first time of flight,

51:26to on the moon. And then we kind of just stopped.

51:31And obviously, Elon Musk, who I know you know very well, has been important in

51:36propelling the space advancement. How do we avoid stagnating again?

51:43I love these aspirational goals that you're laying out.

51:46But I think if we went back in time to 1969, Americans would actually be

51:51stunned that our space progress has been quite limited since then.

51:56Look, I think this is extremely fair, right?

51:59I mean, for 35 years, every president has called for a return to the moon.

52:04It sounds good. But what about putting it in practice?

52:06President Trump, during his first term, created the Artemis program.

52:11President Trump, on my first day on the job, the day I was sworn in,

52:14gave me a national space policy and an executive order that said get back to

52:18the moon and do it to stay this time.

52:20Build the moon base and invest in the next giant leap capabilities.

52:24We're going to launch a nuclear -powered spaceship in 2028 called Freedom, SR -1 Freedom.

52:29That's going to be nuclear power and propulsion, and it's going to deliver a scientific

52:33payload to Mars, because that's the kind of capabilities you're going to need someday for

52:37Mars. So you're absolutely right.

52:38We took a break from deep space exploration for a while.

52:41We didn't have a competitor.

52:43We won the first race.

52:44But we have a competitor now.

52:46The new race is on.

52:47It's to get back to the moon.

52:48It's to do it to stay.

52:50It's to learn so you can undertake, you know, big, bold endeavors like going to

52:54Mars someday. That's what the president has put in motion.

52:57And we've already enacted plans.

53:00We're not just doing talk about this.

53:01We had a big event last week where we shared with industry and all our

53:04international partners how we're going to do it.

53:06We dropped RFIs, RFPs, had breakout sessions the next day, because now we're in execution

53:11mode. Can you speak to some of the commercial and national security applications of space

53:18exploration as its lineup? I mean, you just laid out for us what the timeline

53:22is. But I think, for example, one of the amazing things that SpaceX has done

53:26is by creating Internet essentially beamed down from satellites, there's a whole commercial application now

53:36for this. And SpaceX is obviously putting satellites into space for private entities.

53:41So there's commercialization. So I know there's more commercial options that this will lay the

53:47pathway for. Can you speak to that and also why, from a national security perspective,

53:53space, NASA, what's going on right now with this program is so important?

53:58Yeah, absolutely. So I'll tell you what SpaceX did, which is so important, is they

54:03figured out how to reuse the rocket again.

54:05And not months later, but to do it in weeks.

54:07Why does this matter? I mean, think about it.

54:09If you were traveling with your family to Disney World, but you had to throw

54:12away the 737, how much would it cost to get to Disney World, right?

54:15That's not how we want to do it anymore.

54:17SpaceX pioneered rapid reusability of the first stage of the booster.

54:21And what that did is it brought the cost to put mass and orbit down

54:25materially. Now, what does that serve?

54:27That serves a lot of different applications.

54:29You can now have high -speed Internet and low -Earth orbit.

54:33But it has nationally. security applications as well.

54:35I mean, the satellites that we use in conflict for observation, you know, for communication,

54:41for command and control, those are all put up now far more affordably than ever

54:46before, thanks to reusability. But it's also great for science and discovery, right?

54:51I mean, you know, exploring the world beyond ours is the greatest adventure in human

54:55history. We can launch more rovers now to Mars, more probes, more telescopes to look

54:59back into the beginning of our universe, thanks to this reusable technology.

55:25My 18 -year -old is a big space kid.

55:29Like, he's just fascinated by it all.

55:31I told him we were going to have you on the program today, and he

55:34told me, will you ask him, how long will it be, in his opinion, until

55:39we can put a man or woman on the surface of Mars?

55:44What does that time frame look like to you?

55:46I understand the focus right now is moon -based, but aspirationally, having so -called Moonshots

55:52Matters, it really kind of gets the attention of my 18 -year -old, but there's

55:55a lot of kids out there, grandkids out there, that are going to be listening

55:59to this segment that would love to know an answer to that, to think aspirationally

56:03about our future in the stars.

56:06Sure. I mean, I think the answer is it's probably somewhere in that 10 -

56:10to 20 -year timeline, but I'll tell you, this is why it's so imperative to

56:15return to the moon and build the moon base.

56:17So where we are targeting to build the base that President Trump called for in

56:21his space policy is the South Pole, and in the permanently shaded regions of the

56:25South Pole of the moon, you have water ice.

56:28So when we land there, when we build the base, we are going to work

56:31with that ice and use it to make propellant, and that's going to be key,

56:35because I'll tell you, when you see American astronauts step foot off the Artemis 4

56:40lander and are on the moon, know at that point in time, we have the

56:43capability to send astronauts to Mars.

56:46The hard part is how do you bring them home?

56:48And when they're there, they're going to have to make their own propellant to make

56:51that return voyage, and we will master those skills on the South Pole of the

56:55moon, and then we'll be ready to undertake that grand journey.

57:00One last question. Tomorrow, this is going to be happening in theory at what time

57:04for people out there that want to monitor this incredible endeavor?

57:07What should they know? What are the details?

57:11So at 6 .24 p .m.

57:13at Kennedy Space Center, that's when our launch window opens, and that is the earliest

57:18point that Artemis 2 could ignite, and you got 8 .8 million pounds of thrust

57:23sending those astronauts out into space, 25 ,000 miles an hour farther into space than

57:28any humans ever gone before.
