2:17This message reflects one person's experience.
2:19Donald Trump is panicking as even people from his own cult are calling for his
2:26impeachment. That's right. At a CPAC convention, the head of CPAC, Schlapp, tried to hype
2:33up the CPAC crowd and said, who here wants to see Donald Trump get impeached?
2:38And then the crowd started clapping for Trump's impeachment at the CPAC event.
2:44Here, watch this clip. How many of you would like to see impeachment hearings?
2:50No. That was the wrong answer.
2:54Let me try it again.
2:55How many of you would like to see impeachment hearings?
2:59No. Can someone bring some coffee out for the...
3:04Okay, well, that either demonstrates that they want to have him impeached or the type
3:09of voter who flocks to Donald Trump.
3:11But at that same CPAC event, you had Todd Blanche, Donald Trump's deputy AG, panicking
3:18over the fact that if Democrats take control of the House and Democrats take control
3:23of the executive branch in 2028, that...
3:28Blanche and all of Trump's cabinet are likely going to be prosecuted.
3:33Here's what he says. Let's play it.
3:35Everybody's afraid that the next administration, if we don't win, we're going to all be
3:40investigated and indicted. Think about that.
3:42This is not a third world country.
3:44This is America. And the existing administration is afraid that they're going to get indicted.
3:48And why are they afraid?
3:49Because that's exactly what happened during the last administration.
3:52All of President Trump's cabinet, everybody that worked in the White House, his secret service
3:58detail had to go to the grand jury.
4:01And meanwhile, Pam Bondi is trying to raise her hand up and say, look, I'm
4:05exhibit A, everybody. As earlier on Friday morning, while the markets were also tanking, she
4:11said, you know, being a citizen in our country, it's not a right.
4:15It is an absolute privilege to be a citizen.
4:18And Donald Trump's going to pick who he wants to be as a citizen, because
4:22it's Donald Trump's determination of if you have the privilege to be one.
4:26Here, let's watch what she says.
4:27Play this clip. Right about their marriage to get in this country.
4:30You can't do that. Being a citizen in our country is a privilege.
4:34It's not a right. And Donald Trump is going to have everyone in this country
4:38who deserves to be here who's a citizen.
4:40And yeah, sure, it could be faster.
4:41It could be easier. But I think we're moving at lightning speed, given what we're
4:45up against. I'm thinking about the old Dominion shoot.
4:46Meanwhile, Donald Trump's approval is absolutely tanking on the economy.
4:51It's net negative like 33, the lowest in presidential history at this time on cost
4:58of living, net negative 41.
4:59His overall approval is 36 percent, and it just continues to crash each week.
5:05Amongst white, non -college male voters, he's at a net negative 4 percent right there.
5:14When just this past December 2025, he was a plus 10.
5:18So it's all a crashing down for Donald, who is also curious about the 25th
5:23Amendment being invoked against him as well.
5:25Let's play this clip. But I wouldn't talk.
5:27It's like the question this young lady asked.
5:28Sorry about it. I embarrassed her.
5:30I don't want to embarrass you because I think you're of I think she's a
5:33friendly reporter. So I'm sorry.
5:34But, you know, I can't say what we're going to do, because if I did,
5:38I wouldn't be sitting here for long.
5:40They probably what is it called?
5:41The 25th Amendment. I want to bring in Democratic Congressmember Eric Swalwell is also running
5:52for governor, the great state of California, the state that I call home.
5:57Congressmember Swalwell, it's great to see you as always.
6:00I want to get into what's going on in California, what's going on with the
6:05airports in California. We'll get there.
6:07But I want to first just have you react to just this historical moment that
6:12we're in. And as this disastrous war rages on in Iran, as Americans can't afford
6:17things at home, and as we see a deranged Donald Trump do his encore, I
6:22guess, to covid doing the exact same stick as we head into Easter, but about
6:27this disastrous war in Iran as our economy implodes and as we lose lives overseas.
6:32I saw your CPAC clip intro.
6:35Sounds like there's a lot of conservatives who want the president to be impeached.
6:40And I bet they're pretty pissed that this guy promised he'd lower costs on day
6:44one. And instead, he's done the exact opposite with his stupid tariff tax that has
6:49raised the cost of almost everything that we buy.
6:51He said he would have no more wars.
6:54Instead, he's added wars to the map and it's costing us money.
6:57By the way, in California, as you see, when you go to the gas station,
7:01we are paying almost two dollars more per gallon today because of these.
7:06than we paid on the first day of Joe Biden's presidency.
7:10So he's costing us in every way.
7:12And if you listen to that room, sounds like people are pretty pissed off about
7:16it. You know, with all of the destruction he's unleashed and with all of the
7:23money that they've spent on this destruction, I've always thought we imagined a world, regardless
7:32of who the person is, came into power and they used the money in order
7:38to build housing and to give people healthcare and to help people get the type
7:44of education they want and help people find jobs.
7:47And the amount of effort spent right now hurting people, if you use those same
7:53funds and help people, it always just seemed like the entire country would benefit or
7:58the state of California, states across this country would benefit.
8:01It's obviously there if it's so easy to say $200 billion supplemental for a war
8:08in Iran where we're chasing Netanyahu into a war over there and no one even
8:13knows what the hell we're even doing, you know, to kill people.
8:15Why is it so difficult to spend money here to actually help the American people
8:20that could have a return on investment?
8:23Two things would happen if he did that.
8:25First, he'd help people and bring down costs and lift up opportunity.
8:29And two, he'd be more popular.
8:31The popularity tracks exactly with what people expected and are not seeing from this guy.
8:38And all they see is that he has more fucking plans for a ballroom in
8:43the East Wing than he does to lower costs or to carry out this war
8:48in Iran, which he can't justify or explain what he's going to do next.
8:52So talk to us about California.
8:56People refer to this as a jungle primary and people get awfully nervous who look
9:03at that jungle primary and they get worried.
9:06They see two Republicans and 10 Democrats and people have been very proud, I think,
9:12in California of the way Newsom has stood up to Donald Trump and pushed back
9:17against him and been a leader internationally as well during a time when that was
9:23needed because California is also the fourth largest economy of the world.
9:27And so people are saying, what's going on with this jungle primary and what do
9:32I make of it? And, you know, how do you make that?
9:37I mean, obviously you're in it, you know, and so what's your pitch to the
9:42voters? The Californians want a fighter and a protector.
9:46And as I talk to folks from Reading to Redlands, you know, what I hear
9:51is they ask, what are you going to do to fight and protect for me?
9:55And you mentioned Governor Newsom and there's no person in America who's more protected by
9:59their governor than a Californian by Governor Newsom.
10:03And so the first thing you have to do is show how you're going to
10:05protect against a president whose ICE agents are chasing Californians through the fields and factories
10:09where people work, who are dragging women by their hair and throwing them into unmarked
10:14vans and who are committing public executions.
10:16You have to protect the people first.
10:18And I offer in our candidacy 10 years of being in the arena and taking
10:24on this guy in every imaginable way from investigations to impeachments to my own lawsuit
10:29against him. That is the only one that survived this new presidency.
10:32It's me and the January 6th officers.
10:34But then also being in parallel able to write a new California story on lowering
10:40the damn costs. And you said it.
10:43There are a lot of candidates.
10:44In this field, there is a risk right now that two Republicans could get through
10:49in a crowded field. Now, we are at the top consistently in all the polling.
10:54We're consistently the only Democrat that has been in the top two.
10:57But if we had a Republican governor, God forbid, Donald Trump would have a Western
11:03White House. And what Californians want right now as it relates to Donald Trump is
11:07not a friend. They want a fighter.
11:11You know, as I think about whether it's the California governor's race, governor's races across
11:18the country, heck, the Iowa governor's race.
11:22I have people like that on here.
11:23Right. You know, I think about I think about ICE and Border Patrol on the
11:29streets, though, and what it's like living in California, seeing people terrorized and tortured here,
11:37seeing those scenes across the country, seeing the cruelty of Elon Musk and Doge and
11:43taking people's private data and gutting these programs or cutting off aid to people with
11:49HIV. And and and just the the the true extent of the cruelty isn't even
11:54isn't even known yet. And I think when we read that, it'll be proportions that
11:58are so sick. But I think I just imagine imagine if there was the governor
12:04of a state or the leader of the country who rather than seeing ice on
12:09the streets when we were driving down our blocks, we saw homes being built.
12:14And rather than a Musk who was cruel and taking away and mocking people on
12:18social media. And I'm not suggesting Elon would do it, but but you actually saw
12:23Tesla homes being built that were fifty thousand dollars or set and they were going
12:28up and people were with their families playing out and parks were being built.
12:32And, you know, and to me, I just think of that.
12:35And I'm like, we know that's possible because, again, if you do all the opposite
12:40with with your with the money, it's possible just to do that and have helped
12:45people. So it seems like, you know, you you running for the governor's race.
12:50I mean, it seems to me when I speak to voters, what they're looking for
12:54is who can execute on that vision to see things getting built and and and
13:00connections being made and help being offered and people being uplifted and steady leadership.
13:06What do you think about that?
13:07Yeah, you can put your energy in one of two directions, right?
13:09You can put it in the direction of good and growth, growth and wages, growth
13:15and economic development, growth in the number of houses in California.
13:19Or you can put it toward cruelty and evil, as the president and so many
13:23others have done. What I have said I'll focus on on day one is to
13:28tell every agency in the state that they have 90 days to approve or deny
13:32every outstanding housing application so that we surge supply.
13:37I've always thought over 20 years in government, from being a planning commissioner to a
13:41city councilman, to a deputy district attorney, to Congress, that a goal without a deadline
13:47is a dream. And Californians, when it comes to housing and affordability, are done dreaming.
13:51They want more doing. And so, yes, you have to be able to see the
13:56optimism in Californians and see our way out and through this president.
14:02And so being a fighter protector is table stakes for being able to run.
14:05But building on the optimism of a great state that always remakes and reimagines itself,
14:11that's the path forward. I could have made my campaign anything, Ben.
14:14I named it a new California because we have to write a new California story
14:19as it relates to post -Trump, but also what we can do.
14:23on affordability, growth, and modernization for the next chapter.
14:27Congressman, where can people learn more about the campaign, learn more about you?
14:31Thank you. At Eric Swalwell, one L in the middle, on social and ericswalwell .com.
14:38And about 38 days to go until voters go to the polls.
14:43And we're proud that from Senator Schiff to SEIU to California's firefighters and doctors, we
14:50have broad support in this race.
14:52And now it's on me.
14:53It's my job to make my case across the state and close this thing out
14:57and be the one Democrat that gets through so that we can really do the
15:00work between June and November, which is building the best team to lead, but also
15:05making sure we win the House seats in California that were so critical to what
15:10we did last November with Prop Fit.
