3:12I think they're probably hiring in some new FBI guys, getting some good people on

3:16that team. So a lot going on there.

3:18We're going to have some fun with this.

3:20It's not going to be fun for the people that end up shopping there.

3:22But Zoran Mamdani is setting up a government -run grocery store in New York.

3:29It will take... Clay, are you already up on the stats here, by the way?

3:33Did you already see this one?

3:34I read it just because I'm fired up because today is tax day and wasted

3:39money. And when I saw that Mamdani is going to waste, you hit us with

3:43the numbers, but to try to get one grocery store, government -run.

3:47He's going to spend $30 million and three years to build a grocery store that

3:54he has already scaled back the promise of.

3:57It's not everything will be cheaper because he might have had somebody who knows something

4:03about the grocery business to explain to him, you're operating with a 1 % to

4:082 % profit margin. It's just scale that makes this a business.

4:12But you are razor thin on the margins.

4:15It's not... Think about it.

4:18People who understand capitalism, i .e.

4:20all of you, if one grocery store was selling a can of Goya beans for

4:26$3 and another grocery store was selling them for $2, people would go to the

4:31other one, right? I mean, there's competition.

4:34This is why grocery stores have to do things like a loss leader.

4:38You might say, Buck, why is it that I could go in and get London

4:41broil at... Which is a nice cut of meat.

4:43London broil at my local grocery store at this great price because they're actually losing

4:48money on that to get you into the store so that they can get you

4:53to get some other things that they might make some money back on, right?

4:56So we'll get into this some more, Clay, because it's really...

5:09is a commie, and so he can't stop.

5:25to the story i promise you i i wanted to start clay uh because obviously

5:29we got to get to the crime situation with the um fbi director cash patel

5:35director patel the bottom here but trump has had two things that i know are

5:39high on your radar iran which will give you the latest update on but i

5:44actually want to start with this clay because i'm hearing stuff you're hearing stuff friends

5:49we might be faced with a supreme court vacancy here a voluntary vacancy meaning you

5:56know no we're all wishing for the good health of all of the supreme court

6:00members this is just someone saying look i'm old i'm stepping down the speculation is

6:05it will be alito or perhaps thomas i think alito is more likely personally trump

6:10was asked about this by fox news's maria bartiromo this is cut one hit it

6:15it's probably not easy to give up for people you know they reach a certain

6:18age ginsburg could not do it and she really hurt herself within the democrat party

6:25people are very angry at her because i got to appoint people instead of uh

6:30biden so so you don't know if you're going to be naming i'm putting another

6:34nomination forward okay mr you've got a big it's possible you know in theory in

6:39theory it's two or three they tell me if you just read statistics it could

6:43be two could be three could be one i don't know uh i'm prepared to

6:47do it but when you mention alito he is a great justice clay the team

6:52player move here from alito who i think is 76 that's not right the team

6:57player move is while trump is the president and while we have the senate to

7:04he would get nothing but applause for me you and i'm sure this audience step

7:10aside now let someone else take the reins what say you we've been ahead of

7:15the story on this and i give credit this is where the prediction markets poly

7:19market in particular really got my attention as i'm running through to see that alito

7:26is favored to step down and if he's going to step down we've got big

7:30decisions coming in june which will be the end of this supreme court term and

7:35then you have a little bit of a dead period and it would be uh

7:40make a lot of sense while republicans control the senate and the presidency to get

7:45a new supreme court justice in um before the october term so you have nine

7:51justices ready to go and look i hope republicans retain the senate for two years

7:56thereafter uh for the final two years of trump's uh 2 .0 term but that's

8:01not guaranteed um and uh so if you want to guarantee that for instance you

8:08could be replaced by potentially buck a actual one of your clerks which um again

8:15is something that a lot of supreme court justices love to do you know the

8:20person that is going to replace you you feel good about their judicial philosophy and

8:26you go through the confirmation process with that new individual i do wonder buck whether

8:32now that roe v wade has been overturned will there be a calmer supreme court

8:37justice process i know democrats are going to score their political points and they're going

8:42to lose their minds but will it be calmer than it has been in past

8:48years because we were all told if roe v wade ever gets overturned the seas

8:53will be boiling right like things will fall apart and it's actually not happened at

8:59all it's really not even a top 10 political issue in the country anymore for

9:04what determines certainly national elections because it's now up to the states which is what

9:10it should have been it really should have been all all along um but nonetheless

9:15clay and that was always the uh scalia position on this it's funny you ask

9:19that question and i'm like yes of course in a rational actor environment the supreme

9:25court temperature should be turned down post row but no i don't think so they'll

9:32find so they'll find some way to make this uh you know the other big

9:37issue that comes to mind is is the birthright citizenship and that that's something democrats

9:41are clearly deranged about um but i think trans rights is another thing that gets

9:46them about as oh not quite as animated as abortion but the the far left

9:51fringe wants a supreme court that will create a special carve out for trans rights

9:57there's no question about that yeah and so they will fight tooth and nail on

10:01it for that i think so so the answer is i think they will not

10:06be able to get the same mobilization but there will be plenty of crazies who

10:10treat the supreme court like it's their it's the end of the world if they

10:14don't get some communist maniac in robes yeah and look i i i also would

10:20point out i mean we're dealing with this with swalwell which has brought back the

10:23echo of kavanaugh they're gonna any guy that they find we're kind of in this

10:29era now where it feels to me buck unless you are well it doesn't even

10:34matter i was gonna say unless you have only slept with one person in your

10:38entire life and only kissed one woman in your entire life that you're almost going

10:43to get attacked and somebody's going to say oh so and so if you're a

10:46guy and you're getting you're up for a big job so and so is a

10:50sexual abuser or a rapist he is he dated women Who were too young.

10:55And I was thinking, well, maybe if you only married one woman, you were a

10:58virgin. They'll just make it up anyway, right?

11:01Like, we're kind of in the world.

11:02That was Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh hadn't led some playboy lifestyle at all.

11:07He was a Boy Scout.

11:09He was a Boy Scout of the First Order.

11:11And I mean that in a good way as a Boy Scout.

11:13And yet they still tried to, they completely fabricated things about him.

11:19But, Clay, who is your, I mean, we could do this right now.

11:22Now, look, we're getting a little ahead of this.

11:24There's still some rumors coming out.

11:25Obviously, Trump is being asked about it.

11:27So it is now in the news cycle.

11:29But I have heard from people who have heard from people who have heard from

11:33people that there is going to be a vacancy soon.

11:37And everyone is, I think, pretty confident it would be Alito.

11:40But who knows? It could be Thomas.

11:43If that happens, who is our pick?

11:47Who is the move for Supreme Court?

11:51But, look, there's a lot of judges that might be phenomenal that I don't have

11:55at my fingertips right now.

11:57I'd have to see what the Federalist Society puts forward.

11:59If you're asking me off the top of my head, though, Mike Lee would be

12:03really good. Mike Lee would be great.

12:06I'll give you one that I don't know if it's going to get any attention,

12:09but I think it would be a home run.

12:11Ron DeSantis. I don't know that 100 % he would do it.

12:16I don't know that Ron wants it.

12:18I think Ron wants to run stuff.

12:20I don't think he wants to be a judge, personally.

12:22That's just my sense. I think he might like being a judge.

12:27Really? And I say this in a favorable way for him.

12:30He is a law nerd.

12:32And I'll tell you a story.

12:33I don't know if I've told this story on the air before.

12:36But a few years ago, there was a Sunshine Summit that was put on by

12:40Florida. I spoke at the event, and I was sitting at the table with James

12:45Uthmeyer, who is now the very accomplished attorney general of the state of Florida, doing

12:49a really good job. He was the chief of staff for Ron DeSantis at the

12:52time. Marco Rubio is there.

12:54Byron Donalds. A lot of the guys that are friends of ours and have been

12:58on the program a lot over the years.

13:00And I sat down. I said, where is DeSantis?

13:04And Uthmeyer told me he's in a back room reading all of the latest court

13:10opinions coming down in the state of Florida from cover to cover so that he

13:15is completely prepared for them.

13:17So everybody else, this is 100 % true, everybody else is walking around.

13:21Hold on to your blouses, ladies.

13:23Yes. Everybody else is walking around, like, kissing babies, posing for photos.

13:29And DeSantis, who was the keynote as the governor of Florida, as you would anticipate,

13:33is in the back reading opinions.

13:37Again, I do think Ron DeSantis would make a very good senator.

13:41He's obviously been an excellent governor.

13:43He would make a great cabinet member.

13:45A part of me thinks that he might be open to the idea of being

13:50a Supreme Court justice. And so if you asked me someone who is in the

13:54political realm who would be a great Supreme Court justice, you mentioned Mike Lee.

13:58I don't disagree with that.

13:59I think he likes being in the Senate.

14:02But I do think Ron DeSantis, remember, his term is up in November.

14:07So the timing of it could be pretty perfect, right?

14:11So you've got his term as governor coming to an end.

14:16And, again, I'm not sure that Trump is going to go to a political figure.

14:20It's somewhat of a rarity.

14:22And there will be a lot of, as you just mentioned, Buck, Federalist Society recommendations,

14:27guys and gals who have been former Alito clerks that he would be very excited,

14:33I think, to have succeed him.

14:34But if you wanted me to go with a political name, I think Ron DeSantis

14:38would be an outstanding, outstanding Supreme Court justice.

14:44Remember, he's also only 46 or 47, so you would get him for 30 years.

14:49I think he would be phenomenal, quite honestly.

14:51He certainly, because this is where IQ, you know, is Ron the funniest guy?

14:57No. Okay. And also our sense of comedians and comedy and politics now, because of

15:02Trump, is forever. The bar has been set very high on what makes a politician

15:06funny. No one since Reagan has had anything approaching Trump's timing and comedic ability.

15:12I'm just saying, in terms of the charisma factor, you don't care about a Supreme

15:16Court justice having super high charisma.

15:18You want super high intellect, understanding, and honestly, wisdom.

15:22And Ron hits all of those notes very well.

15:26I just think that he still thinks maybe one day he's going to run for

15:29the big job, which I don't think you can do if you're a Supreme Court

15:32justice. No, no, no. It's true.

15:34I would say this. It also would be an easy vetting.

15:37Like, whatever you think about Ron DeSantis, when you run for president, they go through

15:40your past with a fine -toothed comb.

15:42Like, what are you going to say about him?

15:44I mean, he's already, I just think it would be, he would be outstanding at

15:49it. You know, you'd have him for 30 years.

15:52He's run for president. He may be looking at it and saying, look, J .D.

15:56Vance is the guy in 28.

15:57It's going to be hard to be J .D.

15:59Marco Rubio is out there.

16:00He may look at that.

16:01Look, he's still relatively young, 46 or 47.

16:04I mean, you know, we elect presidents over 70, so 25 years from now.

16:08I mean, he's still got a long career.

16:09But I think he's a legal nerd, and I think he would be a phenomenal

16:12pick for the next 30 years to serve on the Supreme Court.

16:16Look, the Supreme Court justice is the ultimate legacy.

16:20The Supreme Court justice is the ultimate legacy.

16:20that every president gets but a president gets eight years again I'm just saying Ron

16:26DeSantis somebody of his age could be on the Supreme Court for 30 or even

16:30remember John Paul Stevens stayed uh sorry Souter I think stayed on until he was

16:3690 right so I mean he could be on for 45 years uh so again

16:41if he's healthy um it's a uh it's a an appointment that is I think

16:47the most important thing in many ways that presidents do we were just talking about

16:52how in a post -Roe world the Supreme Court feels different Democrats were saying forever

16:57that the world would end didn't end but unfortunately abortion didn't end either it's still

17:02happening all across the country in states with very liberal uh abortion law so babies

17:08are losing their lives at very similar levels to what was happening before Roe versus

17:13Wade was overturned this is why I think it's so important to do what you

17:17can to act on your pro -life principles and save tiny babies in the womb

17:23right now not next year not the next Supreme Court term whatever it may be

25:16I was just talking to a really good friend of mine who lives in Washington,

25:20D .C., and he was saying that the city feels like a different city.

25:26And Trump's initiative on crime there is not only making people safer, he says there's

25:33such a life and vitality in certain neighborhoods he hasn't seen in a long time.

25:37Real estate prices are going up, and it's really been great for our nation's capital.

25:42Well, what happened? Oh, we all know.

25:44Let's talk to somebody who can speak to this, though, with particular insight and expertise.

25:48The director of the FBI, Cash Patel, is with us now.

25:51Director Patel, honored to have you with us again, sir.

25:54Thank you. Thanks so much for having me back on.

25:57Let's just talk about this violent crime crackdown nationwide, but give us some of the

26:03highlights of where this has had particular work.

26:05And then, Director, I want to ask you about what does it mean for the

26:09federal and the local department?

26:10Like, I want you to take us into the mechanics of how this has worked

26:13a bit so we can understand it.

26:14But first, if you would, just where are we seeing huge results from federal law

26:19enforcement, FBI leading the charge, working to bring down violent crime rates?

26:24Here's the great news for America.

26:25Everywhere. Literally everywhere. Thanks to President Trump's resourcing and backing the blue in law enforcement

26:31and giving the American people the security blanket that they so well deserve, we have

26:38launched out on what you just announced, President Trump's task forces in Washington, D .C.

26:41and places like Memphis, where the violent crime rates have been dropping by 50 and

26:4560 percentage points across the board.

26:47Memphis was a per capita homicide capital of America.

26:50We chopped that down by 40 percent, thanks to President Trump's leadership and establishment of

26:55the task force. But you hit it right on its head.

26:58It's not just the FBI.

26:59The FBI is the lead law enforcement agency, but we're working with our state and

27:02local partners in every single jurisdiction that we have, because President Trump has stressed interagency

27:08cooperation at the state and federal level.

27:10And when you let good cops be cops, when you remove the bureaucracy, and when

27:14you know that your law enforcement person...

27:16on the field. And when they know that they have the support of their leadership

27:19structure and their government and their president, they are going to go out there and

27:22do the work. And that's why the homicide rate dropped 20 points across the entire

27:27country. That's why we have 20 percent less opiate overdose deaths in America in one

27:33year alone. Those two would be monumental achievements.

27:36But President Trump and this FBI have done so much more.

27:40Washington, D .C. is a great example.

27:41You just mentioned it. I just looked at the current data.

27:44The murder rates down 50 percent off last year and last year was one of

27:48the lowest murder rates on record.

27:49I would imagine with America to 50, that's a focus.

27:53If if cities like Chicago actually got behind what we're seeing in Memphis and we're

27:59seeing in D .C., what do you think the crime, the murder rate?

28:03Let's just focus on murder.

28:04How much murder, how many lives could be saved if you had real support from

28:09blue cities like we've seen in D .C.

28:12and Memphis? What kind of life -saving opportunity would be out there?

28:17Hundreds. And you know this as well as anybody.

28:19You cover it. Tragically, you see these gang shootings.

28:22And that's where the FBI's focus has been on those localized street gangs.

28:26Yes, we're looking at the national security threats, the large foreign terrorist organizations, the narco

28:31traffickers, the MS -13s of the world.

28:33But a lot of these offshoots and these localized street gangs we've done in places

28:36like Philadelphia, where we literally eliminated an entire street gang in Weymouth.

28:41And we would do the same thing in Chicago if they let us in.

28:44But you highlighted it. President Trump has offered to go in and they have an

28:48elected leadership there that is in favor of politics over protecting its people.

28:53I mean, Clay and Buck, you guys know this better than anyone.

28:55You see kids five years of age, seven years of age get caught up in

28:59gang shootings and murdered. And you would think that the people of those towns want

29:04their city secure. And I think the people do.

29:07It's just their elected leadership is prioritizing politics over public safety.

29:11And to me, that's just a tragedy.

29:13We could save hundreds of lives in places like Chicago if they don't.

29:17Well, we totally agree, Director Patel.

29:19It's remarkable and also, unfortunately, really frustrating to see how clear the results are.

29:26And yet, and the unwillingness to admit that this Trump initiative, which you are part

29:31of the tip of the spear on and the FBI and the men and women

29:34of the FBI, they won't admit that this is working and saving lives.

29:37They'd rather things continue to be a problem in some of these cities because you're

29:42not getting that same level of cooperation.

29:44I want to ask you about the fraud stuff come up in a second.

29:46So we definitely need to get to that.

29:47But first up, though, can you just talk us through a little bit?

29:50What does it mean in Memphis now?

29:52What is different on the ground in terms of how law enforcement is working together?

29:56You know, we invited the mayor of Memphis on and he still has an open

29:58invite to come talk to us about this and just to congratulate him on how

30:02well things are going in the city with this federal partnership.

30:05But what does it mean?

30:06Do you have FBI guys who are doing like riding along with state troopers?

30:10Are they just coordinating back at headquarters?

30:12How does it look? It's a variety of things, but you have to attack the

30:16gang network, as I was mentioning earlier.

30:17And that's what we did in Memphis.

30:18But you also have to get state and local prosecutors willing to bring those tough

30:22street crimes in state and local court.

30:24And we were able to do that in Memphis.

30:26What you also have to do is expand your federal prosecutions.

30:29And thanks to the DOJ presence there, the FBI is leading the prosecutions of violent

30:34gang offenders, murderers, rapists, and drug dealers, and putting them in federal court every single

30:40chance we get. So you have to have a jurisdiction that's willing to let us

30:43in and not take over, but also have a jurisdiction that is a police force

30:48and a prosecution force willing to take that on.

30:51And that's what was congregated in Memphis, thanks to President Trump's leadership.

30:55You saw the direct result of how we reduced.

30:58People said, you can't save Memphis.

30:59The per capita rate for homicides is the highest in the country.

31:02And it's been like that for years.

31:03There's no way you can do that.

31:04We did it in six months.

31:05It shows you we can do it there.

31:07We could do it in Chicago.

31:08But more importantly, for the folks around America that are listening to this, we're doing

31:12it in every single country.

31:13I mean, when you seize enough fentanyl to kill 178 million Americans, a 31 %

31:17increase, that's just the FBI seizures under President Trump's leadership.

31:21Think about how many lives we've saved in towns across America, how many overdoses we've

31:26presented for tragedies like kids in high schools that we used to see around the

31:29country are diminishing greatly. Less seriously here, USA hockey.

31:35That was so awesome. And I can only imagine how cool it was to be

31:41there representing the United States government and be able to celebrate with those guys.

31:45Were you even... I know we know that there are a lot of truly insane,

31:51broken -brained Democrats. Were even though you surprised by how much they came after you

31:56for celebrating a gold medal win?

31:59By the way, something that Jimmy Carter did, something that Walter Mondale did back when

32:04we won the gold medal the last time.

32:07I mean, that, to me, kind of characterized how much they've lost their minds.

32:11I think, yeah, I guess it doesn't surprise me.

32:14What was important was we were there for the Milan Olympics.

32:16The FBI was leading the security for 250 ,000 Americans that went to Milan for

32:21the Winter Olympics. The FBI is responsible for the upcoming World Cup, where we have,

32:25what, 64 matches across the country and ultimately the 2020 Olympics.

32:29So we learned through every evolution.

32:31And thankfully, due to the FBI and President Trump and DHS, we haven't had any

32:35significant security incidences at F1, at the Super Bowl, at the Club World Cup, and

32:41that's what we're doing. And I was fortunate enough to there to...

32:44be there with the men's hockey team and my friends on the team and celebrating

32:49something that hadn't been done in, what, 50, my Matt's terrible, 50 -some years.

32:53So I was glad to be celebrating for America at a historic time, and I

32:58was glad that we were able to provide the security necessary to make sure our

33:02athletes and our American citizens that attended the Olympics could go there safely and return

33:07safely. And that's our focus, and that's always going to be our focus.

33:10I'll always ignore the noise.

33:12We're speaking to FBI Director Patel, and just for the record, Mr.

33:15Director, I, too, love patriotism, freedom, and Americans kicking ass at sports, but now I've

33:22got to take us in another, you know, womp womp.

33:25I'm taking us in another direction here for a second, if I could, because we

33:28have a lot of people writing in, and they're asking us this question, and we

33:30keep saying, well, this is, you know, we've got to see how the investigations go.

33:36There's a process. But there is a really, and I'm sure it's high up on

33:41your radar, a sense that there is systematic and just massive fraud going on, defrauding

33:48the federal government, whether it's Medicare, Medicaid, all kinds of different payments under those systems,

33:55just lots of things in the fraud category at enormous scale, hundreds of millions, billions

34:00of dollars. Does the FBI, first of all, is that a priority right now?

34:05Do you have the resources to be able to deal with this?

34:08And are full investigations underway of places like what happened in Minneapolis, and people talking

34:14about that? Now California is up on people's radar.

34:17Even Gavin Newsom started to say, yeah, there's a lot of fraud.

34:19Talk to us about that.

34:20Yeah, fraud has always been a priority.

34:22These complex investigations are what the FBI does best, and thanks to the Vice President,

34:26his leadership, and DOJ on the task force, we're able to get after it with

34:29even more resources than we've ever had.

34:31But we've been on it since we've gotten in the seat.

34:33Last summer alone, I was in Minneapolis before everything went down, and we took down

34:37a $250 million fraud for a program called Feeding Our Futures, where people defrauded a

34:43program in the state of Minneapolis that was used to feed poor children.

34:47We did that last summer.

34:49We connected it to the statewide fraud investigations that we have going there, and in

34:53places like California, we just had a massive takedown.

34:56Just last week with our U .S.

34:57Attorney's Office there, I think, on a $55 million fraud program.

35:01And so we're not stopping, but mapping out these networks under our NSPM 7 initiative,

35:05we're taking entire data sets from around the country and the world and say, who's

35:10funding these things? Then more importantly, who is taking the taxpayer dollar and enriching themselves

35:17unlawfully, and everyone that is doing that is a target and is going to continue

35:22to be a target under the vice president's task force.

35:26So you are looking into this, there's a task force and people, because right now,

35:31Mr. Director, there's a sense that people are just getting away with this all over

35:35the place, that there's so much fraud that it's like impossible to track it all

35:40down. It sounds like you're saying, no, the Bureau was on it, the resources are

35:44there, because if we're a country where people can steal millions, billions, whatever it is

35:50when you count this up, there's a sense it's tax day to day.

35:53And it's, you know, a lot of people say, okay, so I have to pay

35:56my federal income tax, I have to do this the right way.

35:59But a lot of people can get away with just cheating the system to the

36:02tune of huge sums of money.

36:04So that is not going to be allowed on President Trump's watch.

36:07It hasn't been allowed. And I'll tell you what happened.

36:10And you know this, when you let rampant fraud in the prior administration explode, we

36:15are the ones left cleaning it up.

36:17And we are doing that, just like we did with the violent crime initiatives across

36:20the country that dropped the murder rate.

36:21And so many other ways in which we're protecting violent crimes, our violent crimes against

36:26children are up. We're doing the same thing on the fraud front.

36:28We're cleaning up the past failures of the prior administration.

36:31And we're not going to stop until we have every fraud investigation complete.

36:35I have hundreds of fraud investigations, large scale fraud investigations, open around the country that

36:40we've been working for 14 straight months.

36:42And people are, I'm glad are paying attention to our publicized wins.

36:46And we got a lot more coming cash.

36:48I'm going to go back completely unserious because you probably get asked all sorts of

36:53serious questions, but Pete, but Buck and I were just talking off air.

36:57Pete Hegseth, you probably saw this posted a video of him bench pressing 315 pounds.

37:04That is a ridiculous amount to be able to bench press.

37:07But I know that you are a pretty serious workout guy too.

37:12What's your bench and has it gone up since you became FBI director?

37:16I'll just, I'll just say, I think Pete's got me on that one.

37:19But I did is a push up and pull up challenge.

37:22You know, it's, it's, it's, I think it's great.

37:24It's also inspiring to our workforces prioritize fitness because look, we are the premier law

37:29enforcement agency in the world.

37:30And I'm not asking you to be a Navy SEAL, but if I'm asking you

37:33to take down bad guys in the streets and chase them down, then you got

37:36to be able to do a couple of pushups and pull ups.

37:38And so our standards are going to meet the requirements of the dynamic threat landscape.

37:41And leaders like Pete and myself, we're willing to go out there and maintain our

37:45fitness levels to what we can.

37:47We're just asking our workforce to do the same.

37:49And I think it's inspiring.

37:53have Pete, myself and the other leaders doing what we're doing or 350 pound overweight

37:58people leaving the department of war in the federal bureau of investigation?

38:01It's an example. We set leadership out front and we're going to continue to do

38:05it. Will you be at the UFC fight, by the way, are you looking forward

38:08to that? You know, I'm a big MMA guy and, uh, you know, Dana's a

38:11dear. And as you know, the FBI, for the first time, did its historic partnership

38:16with the UFC at Quantico.
