0:34Welcome, everybody, to the Monday edition of the Clay, Travis, and Buck Sexton show.
0:40Clay is out for the day.
0:42He's on an adventure, and he'll be back tomorrow.
0:45We have a lot of news to dive into with all of you.
0:49Things heating up in Mexico after a very senior, prominent, evil cartel boss was taken
1:00out in a joint U .S.-Mexico operation.
1:03We shall discuss that. We've got a whole lot of reaction to the incredible win
1:12of our American national ice hockey team.
1:17Gold medal winners beat Canada.
1:19And I do feel sort of sad for Canada because you would think this is
1:23the one thing where they would believe that they should be able to.
1:28This, maple syrup, perhaps certain beer brewing contests, moose sighting, and yes, hockey.
1:37But it turns out that we are number one, at least for this go -around
1:40at the Olympics. Gavin Newsom was speaking to a predominantly African -American crowd in Georgia
1:47and said some things that are getting a lot of attention for him.
1:52Not the kind of attention that I think he wants.
1:54President Trump hosted a range of angel families at the White House, people who lost
2:01loved ones to crime committed by illegal aliens.
2:06We'll talk about that for sure.
2:09And we will get into a whole bunch of other things as well, too.
2:11Want to hear from all of you.
2:12I wanted to thank you all and ask you to keep going, of course.
2:16Manufacturing delusion. All weekend, people are sending me emails who have read the book.
2:20Go give some reviews on Amazon if you read the book, please.
2:23We got up to number four on Amazon last week.
2:26Let's get it back into that Amazon top ten.
2:28If you haven't gotten your copy yet, it's a good book.
2:30You will enjoy reading it.
2:31It is actually worth your time.
2:33And I think you'll really like it and you'll want to maybe give it to
2:36a friend or a family member.
2:37So go get a copy of Manufacturing Delusion while you can.
2:42I mean, hopefully you can for a long time.
2:45But do it now. Do it now.
2:47All right. The Olympics. Let's talk about this.
2:50This is a great moment here.
2:51U .S. hockey player Jack Hughes after scoring the game -winning goal in overtime.
2:57Cut eight. Play it. This is all about our country right now.
3:00I love the U .S .A.
3:02I love my teammates. It's unbelievable.
3:06The U .S .A. hockey brotherhood is so strong.
3:09And we have so much support from next players.
3:11And I'm so proud to be American today.
3:17This is what we want to see from our Olympians in general.
3:21I know that there was a departure from this of some of the, what was
3:28it, like, downhill skiers or something.
3:31This kind of patriotism, love of country, it's a great moment for this team.
3:35It's a great moment for all Americans who were watching and celebrating with them.
3:41And it's, what, the first time that we've won this since 1980?
3:45Is that right? You know, we have two super hockey fans on the Clay and
3:51Buck staff. Two super hockey fans.
3:54Producer Greg and Producer Mark.
3:55I want to let them weigh in on this because they watched every second of
3:58this game. They watched all the ice hockey in the Olympics.
4:01They love their NHL. They love their Olympic hockey.
4:05And so here, from two guys who, because I'm very happy for America and for
4:09the patriotism of it. I didn't even know that hockey was going on.
4:13So I'm always going to be honest with you.
4:15I wasn't even aware until the game, the final was happening, that there was anything
4:19even to speak of. So I'm bringing you some expertise courtesy of the Clay and
4:23Buck team. This is Producer Greg Play, listener talkback A.
4:27The Olympic win yesterday by Team USA men's hockey was great.
4:32It was such sweet revenge over last year's Four Nations Tournament, where Canada beat the
4:39USA 3 -2 in overtime.
4:41The Olympics are a much bigger state than the Four Nations Tournament anyway.
4:44We're also really proud of USA women.
4:47Way to go. Gold medal there as well.
4:50USA, USA, USA. That's to all you poutine eaters up north.
4:58I did see some pretty fun memes of, like, an American bald eagle with its
5:03talons just crushing a Canada goose, which is, I think, very apropos for what we
5:11just witnessed. Producer Mark, also a super hockey fan on our team.
5:15He waited. These guys were jumping for joy all throughout the night after this big
5:20win. Play listener talkback B.
5:22Hey, Buck producer Mark here.
5:24Must be an important hockey story if you're actually talking about it on the air.
5:28Just a monumental victory for Team USA yesterday to win the gold medal.
5:33One of the best hockey games I've ever seen as a person who's watched hockey
5:36his entire life. Just to see the best of the best in the NHL face
5:40off against each other for their countries.
5:42It was incredible and a great chance for everyone to see how great of a
5:46sport hockey is on the national scale.
5:47And I hope it translates to more people watching hockey down the line.
5:51I'm so glad that Team USA was finally able to win gold for the first
5:55time since 1980. It was awesome.
6:00I did love the celebrations.
6:02It's really fun as an American to see your country represented so well.
6:06And it was actually at producer Mark's recommendation that I watch the Miracle movie.
6:11Which I had to admit, even as a non -hockey watcher, that's a really great
6:14movie. A really great movie and a great story.
6:17So there's been some phenomenal sports stories this year.
6:20Clay is out today. Our sports guy is out today.
6:22It's a shame. But we've had some phenomenal sports moments.
6:25Whether it was the Hoosiers winning the football national championship NCAA.
6:30Or now the gold medal by the U .S.
6:34men's hockey team. So great stuff there.
6:37Congratulations to... Oh, and I'm sorry.
6:39The ladies won the gold medal as well.
6:41Which is also very exciting.
6:44I do not know that much about women's hockey.
6:48But I do know that the gold medal is very impressive.
6:51And they should be very pleased with themselves.
6:53So I like starting off with a good story when we can.
6:55Because when we start talking about the cartels and stuff here, it's going to get...
6:58It's going to get a little bleak.
7:00That's some very tough stuff going on down there in Mexico.
7:03Oh, something else from over the weekend.
7:07Yeah. Now we're taking the hard turn.
7:09We celebrated. I want to start you off on this Monday with amazing USA, USA
7:13hockey win. Incredible. Some other stuff happened over the weekend, though.
7:19An intruder was shot and killed at Mar -a -Lago.
7:23Here's Secret Service. This is cut four.
7:26Secret Service special agent in charge, Rafael Barros, talking about what happened here.
7:31The individual was armed with a shotgun in a possession of a gasoline canister.
7:37Agents and the deputy discharged their firearms to stop the threat.
7:41At this time, no law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident.
7:45We want to be clear.
7:47The President of the United States was not in the state of Florida.
7:51And this remains an active investigation by the FBI.
7:58So shot and killed, as I understand it.
8:00I actually know some folks who were at Mar -a -Lago when this happened.
8:05You can imagine it's quite a...
8:07I'm sure if you were anywhere on the grounds, you would have heard the gunfire.
8:12So yet again, I mean, this is a president who has had...
8:15who has been shot, who has had another very close -call assassination attempt, who has
8:21been shot and continues to be under this threat from these maniacs in a way
8:30that no president before him that I can think of ever has.
8:33Certainly not in my lifetime.
8:35I know Reagan was shot.
8:36You'd have to go back to Reagan for somebody who's been under this level of
8:40threat from maniacs, would -be assassins, political hitmen, all of the above.
8:49And just say a prayer, spare a prayer for Trump and his family and the
8:53Secret Service and everybody around them.
8:54And they dealt with this quickly.
8:55The guy had a shotgun.
8:57I think he scaled a fence.
8:58He's on the grounds of Mar -a -Lago.
9:01And they engaged the threat and the guy was killed.
9:04There's reporting out there that he was obsessed with the Epstein Files release.
9:10That's all that I've seen so far on him.
9:12I'm not even clear really what that means other than this is a guy who
9:15was spending way too much time on that.
9:20But this is a president who is someone that is defining a political era, really
9:28defining an era of American history and doing things that, yes, you and I can
9:35sit here and talk about how powerful they are and how much they benefit the
9:38country. But when someone is shaking things up and changing the way the presidency governs,
9:47as this president is, there's going to be efforts.
9:51There's going to be those who take it upon themselves to try to stop it
9:57by any means. And it's still, if we had had a Democrat president, for example,
10:03people who had been through this, we would hear about it all the time.
10:05There was nothing like any of this that I can remember under Biden.
10:08Certainly, he wasn't shot. Certainly, they didn't find a gunman once after he had been
10:13shot, waiting for him on his golf course somewhere.
10:17There's clearly an elevated threat level against Donald Trump.
10:20Now, I think the Secret Service is more prepared for this now than they had
10:24been previously. I would certainly hope so, because the failures of security in that field
10:30in Butler, Pennsylvania, were all too clear and obvious to everyone who observed what was
10:36going on there. But I find that it's just interesting how little there is in
10:44the narrative, in the media about the bravery that Trump has when he goes about
10:50all the things that he does.
10:52He does. and all the events and all the time.
10:54He doesn't slow down one bit.
10:57And this president is under, clearly, I don't think there's any doubt, more active threat
11:03than certainly any president in the 21st century.
11:06And I think you would have to go back to Reagan for anybody who is
11:10even close to, as consequential a president.
11:14And then also with that, with being so consequential, I think comes the elevated risk
11:20from a whole range of things.
11:22People that are trying to stop, people that are part of the evil or the
11:28enemy that want to just stop this president from continuing to rack up wins.
11:33People that are just so insane that they view themselves as, they want to do
11:40something, essentially go down in the history books ignominiously, but they want to go down
11:45in the history books for stopping this president in some way.
11:48So I just think that there's not nearly enough time or not nearly enough in
11:55fairness that is said about how President Trump really has done a very brave thing
12:00by running again, by continuing to go on after getting shot.
12:04It didn't even faze him.
12:07It didn't even faze him that this guy took a 5 -5 -6 round through
12:10the year. He just kept going.
12:13He really is on a mission.
12:16Many of you would say he's on a mission from God.
12:20I think Trump would say he's on a mission from God, but he has chosen
12:24to do this at some level, and we need to understand that, but also count
12:30our blessings that he's still able to go and do what he does and continue
12:34on with what his task has been up to this point.
12:40You think about this. There are so many forces arrayed against this guy, which on
12:46the one hand is, I think, a massive indicator of how consequential, as I said,
12:55he is, of how much of a disruptor he is, how much that he's willing
13:00to take the fight to the enemy in a whole range of ways, internationally, domestically,
13:08spiritually, you name it. But when you hear that there's some maniac roaming Mar -a
13:14-Lago with a gun, now, the president wasn't there.
13:16The president wasn't under threat in this case, but clearly, like I said, say a
13:20prayer for this president because he's got a few years left here and still has
13:25a lot to do, and we have to keep this president safe.
13:27So good work from the Secret Service, and if we have any more on the
13:32background here, I mean, I think it's just a lunatic, but we'll continue to follow
13:37this. All right, market cycles come and go, and economic uncertainty isn't new, but what
13:42does change is how prepared you can be when volatility hits.
13:45Many investors are heavily concentrated in paper assets, stocks, bonds, currencies.
13:49Not as many are invested in gold and silver, and they are missing out.
13:53Last year, gold was up 65%, and silver was double that.
13:57This is where Birch Gold Group comes in.
13:59They help you diversify your savings with gold and silver, assets that have historically held
14:04value across economic disruptions. This isn't speculation.
14:07This is stability planning. Gold and silver aren't tied to a single company, government policy,
14:12or earnings report. They're a limited commodity.
14:15In the past year, we've seen increased evidence of central banks the world over buying
14:19both. Birch Gold Group walks you through the process in clear, straightforward terms.
14:24It's who I buy my gold from.
14:26When I work with them, my sense of them is clear.
14:28No pressure, no complexity, just education and options.
14:33If protecting a portion of retirement or savings makes sense to you, it's worth a
14:36conversation. Text my name, Buck, to 989898.
14:40Get their free info kit and learn more about gold that will inspire you.
14:44Text my name, Buck, B -U -C -K, to 989898 to get started with Birch
14:50Gold Group. You ain't imagining it.
14:53The world has gone insane.
14:56Reclaim your sanity with Clay and Buck.

15:31Chemist Warehouse. Great savings every day.
15:33Welcome back in here to Clay and Buck.
15:36President Trump weighed in on the great victory of our ice hockey men's national Olympic
15:43team. And it was a really fun moment for all.
15:46And it's the president doing what he does, which is just being Trump, inspiring people,
15:53feeling, you just feel the surge of patriotism.
15:55Play clip 10. By the way, your goalie played not bad.
16:01I have seen hockey goalies have slightly worse games.
16:06Unbelievable. And you were all unbelievable.
16:08You know, I tell you what.
16:10I just told my people two minutes ago.
16:12I didn't know they'd be calling.
16:13I said, we're giving the State of the Union speech on Tuesday night.
16:18I can send the military planners.
16:20But if you would like to, it's the coolest night, it's the biggest.
16:25We're in. Yes. We'll get the cash and we'll get the military to get you
16:32guys over. Thank you, Mr.
16:33President. What would really be cool, and we'll do the White House the next day,
16:37we'll just have some fun.
16:38We have medals for you guys.
16:39And we have to, I must tell you, we're gonna have to bring the woman's
16:43team if you do know that.
16:46Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
16:48I do believe I probably would be impeached, okay?
16:54President being funny there, saying he's also got to bring the women's team, having some
16:57fun with the guys. And, yeah, look, it's just a great moment.
17:03You can really feel, I think, already a little bit of the growing excitement for
17:10the 250th anniversary of America coming up.
17:14Pretty darn cool. And for that to happen under this president, again, not everything has
17:20to be political, but a lot of things are political.
17:22Can you imagine the 250th celebration with Joe Biden as the president?
17:26Would there even really be a celebration?
17:28It would actually probably turn into some kind of, like, confession therapy session about Indigenous,
17:35like, Indigenous People's Day or something.
17:36It's like, we've been here 250 years.
17:39We still have not yet made amends for all the Indigenous and First Nations people
17:44that we, you know, you know how it would go.
17:46Instead, it's going to be America, heck yeah, and it's going to be great.
17:50But, so, congrats again to that team.
17:52I have to say, you know, this is just the truth of my own situation.
17:58I never played helmet sports, and it's because my head was always too big for
18:02the helmets. I guess I should have had an adult helmet, and it always gave
18:05me headaches. I tried ice hockey for one year, one season, when I was maybe
18:09in the first grade, and I was terrible.
18:10But my head hurt all the time, because my head's too darn big for the
18:13helmet. But having seen this guy lose his front teeth by getting hit with the
18:19stick and his, like, bloody, shattered front tooth, I'm okay with not playing hockey.
18:25I've got to tell you, I'm okay with missing that one.
18:30I was a soccer, basketball, and tennis guy, and that's okay.
18:35Because, man, that is some tough stuff.
18:39Tooth stuff, man. And, ooh, you get, ooh, that's a badass photo, though, that guy.
18:45It was a badass photo.
18:46It was pretty cool. I have to give them all credit.
18:48So, a great moment for men's national team hockey, for sure.
18:53A great moment for the country.
18:55All right, look, Israel continues to be in the news.
18:58You saw there was a big interview that just happened over there recently with Ambassador
19:01Huckabee. But there are so many opinions and emotions surrounding that part of the world,
19:06because we as a nation care about the Israeli population.
19:09For those in this audience that regularly refer to the Bible, you know the phrase
19:13from the book of Abraham, I will bless those who bless you.
19:17It reminds every Christian to look after those of the Jewish faith, and you will
19:21be blessed for doing so.
19:22And today, with anti -Semitism rising around the world, that calling is more urgent than
19:26ever. At a time when Jewish communities are experiencing more hostility, more threats, and more
19:31violence than ever, Christians have a powerful opportunity to say, we've got your back.
19:36When Christians choose to bless Israel, not taking a political stand, we're honoring the root
19:40of our faith and standing against hatred.
19:43Supporting Israel is more than a belief, and by partnering with the International Fellowship of
19:47Christians and Jews, an organization doing so much for so many residents in need, you're
19:51empowering the IFCJ to help those in Israel.
19:54Go to ifcj .org today.
19:56That's ifcj .org. Welcome back in here to Clay and Buck.
20:01Gavin Newsom in the news.
20:04Probably happy just that he's in the news.
20:07I don't think he really cares that what he said is getting pretty roundly ridiculed.
20:13But I have to tell you, he's a couple slots ahead of me.
20:15He just had a book that came out.
20:18His book just came out, or is coming out, I think, tomorrow.
20:22So, Young Man in a Hurry, it is called.
20:25I do not recommend you buy it.
20:27I do recommend you buy Manufacturing Delusion, so that we can get ahead of Gavin
20:31Newsom's book. Thank you for helping me defeat Meacham's book, by the way.
20:35We smoked Meacham's book, which is fun because it was at one of the brick
20:40-and -mortar bookstores, that shall not be named, but that is the most famous one
20:44after Amazon, which is online and not brick -and -mortar.
20:47There were Meacham books everywhere, and people had to, like, beg for my book, and
20:51they had to go in some back room or something to see if they had
20:53it, even though my book was greatly outselling Meacham's book.
20:56That's kind of weird, isn't it?
20:58Wouldn't you want to just have the book out that you're selling?
20:59Isn't that what bookstores do?
21:00Hmm, no. Not if the, you know, they -them selling you the books has, like,
21:07plugs in they -their ears and a big nose ring and purple hair.
21:13Then they prefer to push the Meacham book.
21:15Not a surprise. But, yeah, so Gavin's got a book coming out, which I'm quite
21:22sure he did not write.
21:23Probably a word of. He probably sat down for a couple of quick interviews with
21:27the ghostwriter to give some, like, stories from his life, and then it was left
21:31to the ghostwriter to do everything.
21:33So, again, I know you could say, oh, that's all fun.
21:35I know. But as someone who actually sat down and wrote a whole book, I've
21:38got to tell you, these people that are like, I wrote a book, and they
21:41actually just sat and did an interview for 40 minutes and then let someone else
21:44write the whole book. People can say it's the same.
21:47same thing it's not the same thing so it's very straightforward people could say oh
21:52that's writing a book no it's not it's kind of dictating a few stories to
21:55somebody who then writes a book for you so and i understand that that's very
21:59common practice for a lot of people particularly politicians and everything else okay i'm not
22:05necessarily casting judgment or aspersions on it maybe i am uh but it's just not
22:10the same thing right i i i can say that i you know or like
22:16like like our secretary of war pete hexath he lifted 315 pounds he lifted 315
22:21pounds it's impressive if he paid someone else to lift 315 pounds in his place
22:28he didn't lift 315 pounds right this is actually very straightforward but people seem to
22:32get in the in the publishing industry didn't get confused by this anyway gavin newsom
22:38oh gavin he's out there he's doing his thing he's making some noise trying to
22:44get some attention for his book why because this is the i'm running for president
22:50book this is his dreams from my father this is his i don't know what
22:55are what are the other like presidential book these no one reads these books people
23:00buy these books because it gives them an opportunity to tell people that they bought
23:07it and then to put it in some conspicuous place it's not a coffee table
23:12book but they want to put it on the coffee table so that when anyone
23:14comes over or maybe they'll put it in the bookshelf that's like near the front
23:17doors people will see it tells everybody i'm a person who buys democrat presidential memoirs
23:24that's really what this is i i know that there are people that that's not
23:28necessarily the case okay fine this is a diversion but i'm weaving i also thought
23:33this was really interesting you know they're finding out that all these kids i'm gonna
23:36get back to gavin newsom and the dumb things that he said i promise you
23:39put a pin in that it just uh as part of my prep for this
23:44morning i was reading through and they're finding that this huge effort to turn schools
23:52from books like textbooks and just you know old school books to laptops and tablets
24:00there's more evidence now than ever that this is a really bad idea and that
24:05they're standardized testing is going down um in general i mean i'm kind of unsurprised
24:15by this although i couldn't even tell you why there's just something about an actual
24:19physical book that is tough to beat i think it's a technology that will never
24:23be replaced i'm also i use my kindle at night before i go to sleep
24:28that's how i fall asleep i read every night before i go to bed it's
24:31a good habit by the way i'll recommend it to you and the kindle's nice
24:33because you can set the lighting on it so that it's very it's pretty dim
24:37and so it won't over stimulate your eyes and so it's pretty easy to fall
24:41asleep but i basically fall asleep reading every night uh and i can't i couldn't
24:45do that with my reading light because then it would be a little too bright
24:48it's hard to fall asleep so i think the kindle has has a use for
24:51that it also obviously can hold a lot of books in one place but at
24:54the end of the day i mean i'm sitting here in my studio and i've
24:57just got a book i've got book shelves i got piles of books i don't
25:00even have room for the shelves anymore there's something about books they've done studies that
25:04families that just have books on shelves in the home with children the children tend
25:11to do better in school just having books now i'm not saying there's something magic
25:17like the book through some kind of osmosis or some uh some telekinesis is able
25:22to impart its knowledge upon you but i just think it's a reminder i think
25:26it's a a um you know how people have those things in their offices that
25:33are like be a team player today you know what are those i don't even
25:37know what are those called you know they're not memes they're like meme posters though
25:41they're bigger back in like the early 2000s they don't really do that as much
25:45now but they would have these things it's like a classic of of uh boring
25:51corporate america is they would have you know get more done today than you did
25:55yesterday now does that work or not i'll leave that up to you but having
25:59books in your house is like a reminder that there are these things called books
26:02and that you should read them and that books matter and they're important so actual
26:05physical books make a difference and they're finding us an education now which is the
26:10case all right now gavin newsom gavin newsom he is trying to sell his book
26:17and he was at a a place in georgia the rialto center for the arts
26:23yesterday i want you to hear this is a largely black audience according to all
26:32the news reports i want you to hear how gavin newsom speaks to this audience
26:37uh this is cut five listen in i'm not trying to impress you i'm just
26:42trying to impress upon you i'm like you i'm no better than you you know
26:48i'm a 960 sat guy and you know and i'm not trying to offend anyone
26:55you know trying to act all there if you got 940 but literally a 960
27:01sat guy i cannot you you've never seen me read a speech because i cannot
27:08read a speech this may be the wrong business to be you you you you
27:15I'm like this is the quote I am like you I'm a 960 SAT guy
27:23what percentile is a 960 SAT just by curiosity that is in the 34th percentile
27:34that is a really rough SAT score I was going to tell you that is
27:38not a strong SAT score now Gavin Newsom choosing to share that and I will
27:45tell you I am not shocked that that is that that is the case but
27:51Gavin Newsom sharing that he got a 960 on the SAT to me is indicative
27:56of a few things here one is he thinks well the part of this that's
28:01getting so much attention is that Gavin Newsom speaks to a crowd that is mostly
28:07African -American and says I am like you and then says he got a very
28:13low SAT score people are looking at that they're saying not a great look yet
28:18not really not really the way you want to go with this one and then
28:22he also says I can't read now he's saying that he suffers from dyslexia and
28:29and I think actually this this came up recently because was it Senator Ted Cruz
28:34said that he's historically illiterate and then Gavin Newsom was like how dare you making
28:39fun of dyslexia and it's like that's not what historically illiterate means but Gavin didn't
28:45know that either we are ruled by morons my friends in many cases you have
28:49to remember that certainly if you live in California you are uh there are very
28:53very dumb people who can rise to the absolute heights of of power I mean
28:58Joe Biden for example even before he had dementia Joe Biden was he's cunning and
29:04good at playing this game of uh charming politician not that he's actually charming but
29:13he's good at putting on the face and the handshake and everything else and he's
29:18ruthless insofar as he'll do he has no ethics to defend or protect so he'll
29:22do anything he'll say whatever but he's not a smart man there's a lot of
29:27these people in politics who are not smart um and this is unsurprising I know
29:34to all of you but for Gavin Newsom to be I'm a 960 SAT guy
29:39I can't read as a means of trying to use that to become closer to
29:45this audience of mostly black uh listeners that is that is quite a moment for
29:53a democrat now I'm going to tell you something else though people who are saying
29:58that this is disqualifying that Newsom is done that this will haunt him they're wrong
30:05it won't it won't because the great power that democrats really have is as long
30:14as they have the right policy which means the democrat policy as long as they
30:20will do what the democrat party wants them to there are no consequences for stuff
30:25like this uh do you remember what what joe biden said about barack obama before
30:31obama was president I remember the exact quote but it was you know he I
30:35believe he referred to him as uh well I'll I'll pull up the quote but
30:40uh because I don't want I don't want to get it wrong but joe biden
30:43said something that I think for a lot of people more than just raised eyebrows
30:48that didn't matter he's a democrat and the system around these people will just make
30:55sure that this is not remembered this is not used against them this is not
30:59a big thing but ultimately also I think uh I think that if you're a
31:04politician in America today and you're going to get 90 percent of the black vote
31:10and the black community believes that you are serving their interests as a politician racism
31:18is not going to get you in trouble not really I mean it'd have to
31:22be really really bad uh or even I should this isn't even this is more
31:25just sort of bumbling insensitivity I wouldn't even say this is racism I'm not trying
31:30to be the the racism police here but Gavin Newsom said something he's trying to
31:35he's trying to seem like he's um um you know trying to seem like he's
31:42just just one of the guys you know just like everybody else and so immediately
31:46he goes into I did terribly in the SATs and obviously was not a good
31:51student and and he said I can't read which I'm assuming is not really true
31:55but he has some level of dyslexia and this is how he thinks he's going
32:00to seek common ground with people this is how he's going to find victim status
32:06of some kind if as a democrat is necessary you have to even if it
32:13means that you're a white person who just says I'm ashamed of my whiteness like
32:16whatever it is as a democrat in politics today you have to find the place
32:23where you get to claim that you too are a victim and if that means
32:28you're a victim of your own whiteness then that works but you have to find
32:34that with some you have to find that common ground with somebody you have to
32:36find that uh that shared experience um and uh Gavin Newsom is an absolute sort
32:43of thing so he doesn't understand what he's saying he's going to find that he's
32:43going Shameless charlatan. Say that 10 times fast.
32:46Shameless charlatan. He is, though.
32:48I also am very confident he will be the next Democrat nominee for president of
32:51the United States. I don't think anyone else is even going to come close.
32:54I could be wrong on this one.
32:56A lot can change between now and then.
32:57But something about this guy, this is what the Democrats want.
33:02They want someone who just stands for nothing and will give them everything.

34:50Welcome back in. Let's get to some of your talkbacks and some of your calls.
34:54And we'll start with Frank in California.
34:57What's going on, Frank? Yeah, Buck.
35:01Look, first of all, fantastic book that you wrote.
35:09Absolutely. I mean, it's just fantastic.
35:13Very valuable to history, to the United States, and especially your discovery of menticide, that
35:24psychologist who coined the term menticide.
35:29Yeah. And my question, and I got a question.
35:31You seem to think and feel that in the USA here, we are a lot
35:46closer to having menticide happen to us as a nation than I am.
35:57And could you discuss that a little bit?
36:00Sure thing. Yeah, so menticide is Juist Mirlu's term.
36:05He came up with it.
36:07And this is a guy who did staff work in the Netherlands until 1942 under
36:15Nazi occupation. And he tried to evade the Nazis while the Netherlands was under occupation.
36:25And then he looked into what had happened.
36:29Like, basically, how did the Nazis and how did the Germans and how did so
36:31many people just lose their minds in this great plague of evil?
36:39And he wrote The Rape of the Mind in 1956 about this.
36:43So it was totalitarian brainwashing techniques that he was looking at.
36:49And the book has sort of fallen away, and people don't really – I had
36:52not heard of it until I was doing my research for this book.
36:55For Manufacturing Delusion, which I hope you'll all go get a copy of today.
37:01But the basic theories and processes have very much stayed the same since he published
37:08it in the 1950s. But yeah, menticide, killing of the brain.
37:13He was a prolific writer.
37:14He did some really interesting stuff.
37:18And he basically just made the case.
37:20He said that without mental freedom, democracy, rule of law, none of these things are
37:24possible. And if someone's saying, well, why do I think that this is something we
37:29have to be concerned with?
37:30This country lost its mind during COVID.
37:32Or rather, we were forced to lose our minds.
37:35And we also, in segments, have lost our minds on a whole range of other
37:39issues. Climate change, BLM, gender, transgender stuff, all of this.
37:45These are things that are irrational, they are crazy, and they are forced belief in
37:51a whole range of ways.
37:52That's really what the book's about.
37:54So go get it, and you'll learn some really interesting and worthwhile stuff.
37:58Manufacturing Delusion is the book.
38:00And yeah, Bruce Merlew is a fascinating guy.
38:03Coming back in here, we'll talk about Trump honoring angel families.
38:07He declared yesterday as a national day.
38:10of remembrance for those angel families.
38:13So we will talk about that.
38:15We'll also get more of your calls and just generally run through more of the
38:19news and have a fantastic show.
38:21So I'll be back with you in just a moment.
