1:00Donald Trump is panicking as Congress is trying to shut down his unlawful war against
1:07Iran on a bipartisan basis.
1:09Democrats and Republicans in the Senate, led by Democratic Senator Tim Kaine and Republican Senator
1:17Rand Paul, and in the House of Representative Republican Thomas Massey and Democratic Congressmember Ro
1:24Khanna, they are working to put forward a War Resolution Act, which would require Donald
1:31Trump to get authorization of Congress to continue this unlawful war against Iran.
1:37And if Donald Trump does not get congressional authorization, which he was required to do,
1:43frankly, anyway, under the Constitution, the war could be shut down.
1:48Now, Donald Trump has threatened that he would veto any War Resolution Act, and he
1:53has said that he would ignore it.
1:55Also, I don't think we even need a War Resolution Act, given that Congress has
2:01the authority when it comes to declaring war, and Donald Trump requires congressional authorization to
2:09declare a war in general.
2:11But regardless, this War Powers Act in the 1970s allows Congress to assert its authority
2:20over these areas. And that's precisely what these Democrats and Republicans are doing on a
2:26bipartisan basis. But Donald Trump is fighting it.
2:29Donald Trump has sent his MAGA Republican sycophants out there now to say this is
2:35not a war against Iran.
2:37This is actually a special military operation.
2:40And if that term sounds familiar to you and it sounds, I don't know, Russian,
2:46yeah, that's what Putin called his invasion of Ukraine, a special military operation.
2:53And that's essentially how Donald Trump and MAGA Mike and the MAGA Republicans are now
2:58trying to refer to this invasion against Iran as a special military operation.
3:05So they're saying it's not a war, then we don't need a declaration of war,
3:09and we don't need any type of war resolution at all.
3:15So let me show you what went down.
3:17Here you have MAGA Mike Johnson running away from Manu Raju when he was asked
3:23about any type of war powers resolution.
3:26MAGA Mike says, it's an operation.
3:28It's an operation. It's not a war.
3:30It's not a war. Here, play this clip.
3:33It's a war. This is war right now.
3:35I think it's an operation.
3:38It's not a war right now.
3:40The people of your service numbers are getting stilt right now.
3:43It's a dangerous operation and an important one.
3:46We had to act as an imminent threat.
3:48But there's not a declaration of war.
3:50We'll see y 'all tomorrow.
3:51Here you have MAGA Republican Senator Joni Ernst also saying, when Manu Raju was asking,
3:59well, why shouldn't Congress have voted to authorize this war in Iran?
4:03Why isn't that a Congress thing?
4:05And she goes, well, try to name for me any time Congress required where there
4:11was congressional authorization for war.
4:14And Manu Raju's like, Afghanistan and Iraq, they both had congressional authorization.
4:19She's like, oh, well, name me something else.
4:22I mean, those are the two recent wars that got congressional authorization.
4:25I want you to see what goes down here.
4:27Play this clip. So why shouldn't have Congress voted to authorize this war before it
4:32began, given that service members are losing their lives over this?
4:36Yes. And I take that very personally.
4:38Obviously, I have served. My daughter serves on active duty now, but I would love
4:43for anyone to name the last time Congress authorized operations or strikes in other countries.
4:49Iraq and Afghanistan. Iraq and Afghanistan.
4:51This is serious. And we're just a few days in.
4:53So then the White House sent a letter purportedly under the War Powers Act where
5:00they're asserting, you know, it's within, you know, 48 hours or two days of the
5:06of the war beginning. But they're saying it's not a war.
5:09And again, they're saying it is a special.
5:11military operation. This was the letter sent by Trump to Congress or whoever wrote it
5:17on Trump's behalf to Congress, probably Elbridge, Kobe, or someone on Marco Rubio's team.
5:24March 2nd, 2026, here's what it said.
5:27Dear Mr. President, I write to apprise you of military action taken on February 28th
5:33against the government of the Islamic public of Iran.
5:37I have separately notified you of changes in the global posture of United States forces
5:42in the Middle East in response to threats emanating from the then ongoing tensions with
5:47Iran. As I previously communicated to Congress, Iran remains one of the largest, if not
5:53the largest state sponsors of terrorism in the world.
5:56Despite the success of Operation Midnight Hammer, the Iranian regime continues to seek the means
6:01to possess and employ nuclear weapons, its array of ballistic crews, anti -ship, and other
6:08missiles pose a direct threat and are attacking United States forces, commercial vessels, and civilians,
6:15as well as those of our allies and partners.
6:18Again, there's no mention here of war or the fact that there were imminent strikes.
6:22And here's how it's detailed further in this letter by Trump.
6:27Although the United States desires a quick and enduring peace, it is not possible at
6:33this time to know the full scope and duration of military operations that may be
6:38necessary. As such, United States forces remain postured to take further action as necessary and
6:45appropriate to address further threats.
6:47I directed the military action consistent with my responsibility to protect Americans and United States
6:53interests. I'm providing this report as part of my efforts to keep Congress fully informed,
7:00consistent with the war powers resolution.
7:03And again, he's trying to say that it's actually not a war.
7:07So here you have Mark Wayne Mullen, MAGA Republican Senator, also trying to say, you
7:13know, this is not a war.
7:14No, no war is taking place.
7:16But he says it's a war.
7:18So then they go, you just said it's a war.
7:20He's like, oh, I must have misspoke.
7:21That's not really a war.
7:22Here, play this clip. Are there measures being taken not to eliminate other possible alternatives
7:28to leadership? This is war and we're taking out the threat.
7:32And if you're part of the threat, then you have your target.
7:36You know what we'd call not all the arrows, but going after the archers.
7:40You can see this is war.
7:41You can see this is war.
7:42We haven't declared war. They declared war on us, but we haven't declared war.
7:47They called it war. What I was saying, okay, well, that was a misspoke.
7:53But I was saying that they've declared war on us, but war is ugly.
7:56It always has been ugly.
7:58But we're, you know, we're at a, we're taking out a regime that's been trying
8:03to attack us for quite some time.
8:04But you're not conceiving this as war.
8:06We have declared war. So if we haven't declared war, I don't see that.
8:11The president hasn't asked us to declare war yet, but they have declared war on
8:15us. We're just simply fighting the threat that's been at our door for 47 years.
8:21I've already answered the question.
8:23Then you've got MAGA Mike Johnson over here saying that if you are trying to
8:28move forward a war powers motion to restrict Donald Trump's ability to engage in this
8:35unlawful war, you're a traitor is basically what MAGA is saying.
8:39The idea that a few colleagues would try to move a war powers motion to
8:44the floor is dangerous. It plays into the hand of the enemy.
8:49So if you support the constitution, Trump has ordered MAGA Mike and sycophants to say
8:54that means you support terrorists and you support Iran.
8:58That's what they're going with right out of the playbook, right out of the neocon
9:02playbook that Donald Trump said, frankly, worse than the neocon, like way worse than the
9:06neocon playbook. The neocon playbook was bad.
9:09This is way worse. And Trump's whole campaign was like, we're against that.
9:12Like y 'all are that times a hundred.
9:16Anyway, play this clip is squarely within the law.
9:19He used his discretion and his authority and the intelligence that he had exquisite as
9:23it was, as is demonstrated by its effectiveness.
9:25And he did what he should have done as a commander in chief.
9:28This the idea that a few colleagues here would try to move a war powers
9:33motion and resolution to the floor right now is dangerous.
9:37Imagine a scenario where Congress would vote to tell the commander in chief that he
9:43was no longer allowed to complete this mission.
9:46That would be a very dangerous thing.
9:47You see that Iran is firing almost seemingly indiscriminately at targets.
9:53They're trying to intimidate America.
9:55They're trying to to to test our resolve.
9:58And the idea that there's some members of this legislative body that would play along
10:02with that plays right under the hands of the enemy.
10:04And I think it's shameful.
10:05I do believe we have the votes to defeat it.
10:07I certainly hope we do, because we have lots of troops, service members in harm's
10:12way right now. And and the balance of this thing is is hanging there.
10:16It's been very effective thus far.
10:17It needs to be completed.
10:18We don't need Congress getting in the way of that.
10:20More from Maga Mike here.
10:22He's asked by the reporter, is there any indication of of like plans?
10:26What happens when the war ends?
10:28Maga Mike? Like, can you tell us what the hell is going on?
10:31Maga Mike doesn't know. Let's play this clip.
10:33Is there any indication of plans?
10:36Representative Scalise said he heard one.
10:38Democrats say they're not hearing one.
10:39What is what happens when the war ends?
10:41What does that look like?
10:42And then what does the day after look like?
10:44Look, no one can yet determine with any degree of certainty what how this will
10:49turn out. We have taken out what appears to be top few layers of leaders
10:55and potential leaders who would take over there.
10:57It is time for the people of Iran to step up and seize this moment
11:01of opportunity for them, the one that they have long awaited to have freedom there.
11:05We are encouraging that. We're hopeful for that.
11:07I think our NATO allies and our other allies around the world are watching with
11:11great anticipation and hope. I suspect that the entire world will reach out a hand
11:15of encouragement and assistance. If you've been listening to the show for a while, you
11:19already know how much I love Sol's out of office THC gummies and sparkling beverages.
11:23And now they've launched something new, mood gummies.
11:26Lately, I've been more mindful about how I want to feel, whether I'm socializing, winding
11:29down or just decompressing after a long day.
11:31Instead of defaulting to a drink and hoping for the best, I've been reaching for
11:35Sol's new mood gummies. I've tried the Uplift during the day, 3mg Sativa THC plus
11:40CBG, and it gives me that bright social boost without the crash.

12:12Whatever the moment, there's a Sol mood gummy to match, and honestly, I don't miss
12:16the hangovers, the bad sleep, the extra calories, or the sluggish mornings.
12:20This just fits better with my healthier habits.
12:22Make today a good day and get yourself some Sol gummies.
12:25Right now, Sol is offering my audience 30 % off your entire order.
12:29Go to GetSol .com and use code MIDAS.
12:32That's GetSol .com, promo code MIDAS for 30 % off.
12:36M -E -I -D -A -S.
12:38Then Mag and Mike says the reason, remember yesterday or two days ago, he said,
12:43the reason that we're at war with Iran is that Israel was going to strike
12:48Iran first, so we had to strike Iran before Israel struck Iran because Iran would
12:53retaliate the United States. If Israel struck Iran and now he's saying, oh, it's ballistic
12:58missiles, let me do it with ballistic missiles here.
13:00They made clear and they've been very consistent from the beginning that the objective, the
13:05mission here, the rationale for it is very clear and very simple.
13:08You've heard it articulated over and over and over from the President of the United
13:12States, from the Secretary of State, from the Secretary of War, myself, and many others
13:16who have said this over and over.
13:18I'm not sure why there are lingering questions about this.
13:20This is really a very simple matter.
13:22It's about the building of ballistic missiles.
13:25That's what Iran was engaged in.
13:27And they were doing it at a speed and at a scale that was exceeding
13:32the ability of our regional allies to respond appropriately.
13:35This created an imminent and serious threat.
13:38And also you have Marco Rubio yesterday also flip -flopping or just saying the exact
13:45opposite of what he previously said.
13:47Here's what he said yesterday.
13:49Here's what he said the day before.
13:50You can play this clip.
13:52Yesterday, you told us that Israel was going to strike Iran and that that's why
13:56we needed to get involved.
13:58Today, the President said that Iran was going to get.
14:01Yeah, your statement is false.
14:02So that's not what I was asked very specifically.
14:03Were you there yesterday? Yes, I asked the President.
14:05And so the President made the very wise decision.
14:08We knew that there was going to be an Israeli action.
14:10We knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces.
14:13And we knew that if we didn't preemptively go after them before they launched those
14:17attacks, we would suffer higher casualties and perhaps even higher those killed.
14:22And then we would all be here answering questions about why we knew that indeed.
14:25You have MAGA Mike Johnson has asked additional questions like, you know, what's the purpose
14:33of this all? He's like, we have no ability to get into nation building.
14:36We're not the world's policemen, but here we need to do it.
14:40Play this clip. It is time for the leaders who would take over there.
14:42It is time for the people of Iran to step up and seize this moment
14:45of opportunity for them, the one that they have long awaited, to have freedom there.
14:50We are encouraging that. We're hopeful for that.
14:51I think our NATO allies and our other allies around the world are watching with
14:55great anticipation and hope. I suspect that the entire world will reach out a hand
15:00of encouragement and assistance as is needed to help them.
15:03We have no ability to get into the nation building business.
15:07We don't do that. We're not the world's policemen.
15:10America has enough trouble of our own.
15:12But I think this is a great development for the people there to be able
15:15to stand on their own two feet and seize this moment of opportunity.
15:20We're certainly hopeful and prayerful that they will and that no other innocent people are
15:23killed. Iran, by some estimates, murdered tens of thousands of their own citizens just within
15:28the last several weeks. Those people are now deceased.
15:31They do not have the ability to do that.
15:33There are still dangerous folks there, but there's more good people.
15:36There's more people who desire to have freedom and liberty, and there are terrorists and
15:40tyrants in the world. I'm grateful for that.
15:42This is their moment to step up, and I hope they will.
15:44Then Lindsey Graham doesn't even really give a crap.
15:46Lindsey Graham is like, yeah, who cares if it's imminent?
15:50Just go to war with everybody.
15:52Here's what Lindsey Graham says.
15:53Play this clip. You know, in 1939, out of 35, I don't know if Hillary
15:57was an imminent threat, but I wish somebody would have dealt with him.
16:00Any regime that embraces a cult of death that's killed Americans, Vows to kill Americans
16:08in the future, trying to build a nuclear weapon, even after midnight hammer, trying to
16:13build weapons to hit America is a imminent threat, and it doesn't have to be
16:18imminent to me, because you don't want it to be imminent.
16:21The whole idea is for it not to be imminent, dumbass, you want to prevent
16:26it from being imminent. Senator, let me ask you this, because I'm putting this in
16:30context, which I know you always do.
16:34Well, it is a war, let's be clear.
16:36And here are the first confirmed fatalities in Trump's illegal war, Captain Cody Kirk, 35
16:43years old, Sergeant First Class Noah Tejins, 42, Sergeant First Class Nicole Amher, 39, Sergeant
16:52Declan J. Cody. We're going to see a lot more photos like that, sadly.
16:57Our heart goes out to their families, of course.
17:00And also in Iran, 175 people, we reported on this before, were killed in a
17:07elementary school that was blown up by either the United States and Israel or Israel
17:12and the United States. And neither the Israeli nor U .S.
17:15government has directly addressed the strike on the school, but the U .S.
17:19Central Command said on Saturday that it was aware of reports concerning civilian harm and
17:23was, quote, looking into them.
17:26Thousands in Iran attended a burial of children killed in the bombing of that school.
17:31There were students attending classes at the time that the school was destroyed.
17:36175 people were killed in the attack on the girls' elementary school.
17:40And here's a handout picture released by the Iranian Foreign Media Department of Graves getting
17:46dug for the victims of that strike on the elementary school, as further reported by
17:51Reuters right there. Let's take a look at what Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego says he's
17:56voting yes on the War Powers Resolution.
17:59Play this clip. Senator, you have called for the Senate to immediately return to session
18:03and vote on a War Powers Resolution that could block the use of forces in
18:10Iran. How do you see that going down?
18:13What do you see the language of that being?
18:16And where do you see the votes?
18:18Well, I know I'm going to vote yes.
18:20This is an illegal war.
18:22The justification for war is not there.
18:25It was made up from some of the things that we're gathering.
18:30Iran actually had conceded a lot to the point where, again, there was no imminent
18:34threat of any nuclear capability.
18:37Another senator talked about them potentially being able to load a bomb and send a
18:40bomb. That's absolutely ludicrous and not even close to that.
18:44And so, you know, the president has not justified at all why we are at
18:49war. So for me, it's a very simple vote.
18:51It should be everyone's very simple vote.
18:52Here's what Democratic Senator Blumenthal said that his takeaway was after a briefing that took
18:59place yesterday regarding this was a briefing by Marco Rubio and the State Department and
19:07Defense Department to senators and members of Congress about the war.
19:13Here's what Democratic Senator Blumenthal said occurred in the briefing.
19:16I just want to say I am more fearful than ever after this briefing that
19:24we may be putting boots on the ground and that troops from the United States
19:30may be necessary to accomplish objectives that the administration seems to have.
19:37But I also am no more clear on what the priorities are going to be
19:44of the administration going forward, whether it is destroying the nuclear capacity of Iran or
19:51simply the missiles or regime change or stopping terrorist activities.
19:56And I think the administration owes it to the American people to have briefings, not
20:03just for members of Congress, but for the American public.
20:07Nothing here should have been classified.
20:10It should be available to the American people.
20:12Here's what Senator Chris Murphy said happened during the briefing.
20:16This is as serious as it gets.
20:17This is war and peace.
20:18They told us in that room that they're going to be more Americans that are
20:21going to die, that they are not in a short run going to be able
20:23to stop these drones that are going to continue to fly into the Middle East.
20:27We have to have a debate in the United States Senate on an authorization of
20:32military force. It will likely fail.
20:34It will likely fail. And we shouldn't be voting to proceed to other pieces of
20:39legislation until we get a debate on this deeply unpopular, immoral and illegal war with
20:45Iran. And here's what Senator Brian Schatz said occurred during that briefing.
20:50There are times when you go into a classified session and you walk out and
20:55you have a better understanding about the gravity of the situation and the rationale behind
21:00the military action. This is not one of those times.
21:03We remain as confused as the American people are.
21:09They have had three or four or five justifications for this act of war over
21:14the last four or five days.
21:16And nothing in this classified session alleviated that confusion.
21:21I also should note that America conducted military operations in Ecuador yesterday.
21:27I know this isn't getting a lot of attention, but the U .S.
21:30conducted joint military operations with Ecuador.
21:34You need to help with Ecuador.
21:34against quote -unquote designated terrorist organizations.
21:39The U .S. Southern Command said that joint activity with Ecuador was an effort to
21:44combat the scourge of narco -terrorism, but did not provide other details about the operation.
21:49So we actually are in a war again in Ecuador.
21:55And there's the leader of Ecuador, President Daniel Noboa, is a big Trumper.
22:02There was the Noboa -Trump meeting at Mar -a -Lago on March 29th, 2025.
22:09Trump helped the guy Noboa get elected.
22:11And just so you also know about Noboa, Noboa's family runs a big banana company
22:17and a big produce company in Ecuador.
22:20And there have been lots of accusations that the Noboa family was helping cartels and
22:28narco -tripes. Just accusations, let me be very clear.
22:31But these are accusations that are out there helping the narco -terrorists ship the cocaine
22:37in the bananas that are then moved into the United States and elsewhere.
22:42And the Noboas deny it, but there's lots of reporting and accusations about that.
22:48And so my query is, is Donald Trump helping Noboa and Noboa's family crack down
22:55on basically the competing cartels?
22:58Because we know that Donald Trump actually supports narco -trafficking, right?
23:02In Honduras, Donald Trump allowed Juan Orlando Hernandez, one of the biggest narco -traffickers who
23:09worked with Chapo, Donald Trump pardoned the guy and let him out.
23:12So it makes sense that Donald Trump would be supporting a guy like Noboa, wealthy
23:17family, running this kind of similar type of Trump regime, a version of it in
23:24Ecuador, the same way Donald Trump helped Juan Orlando Hernandez over in Honduras.
23:32Well, there you have it, folks.
23:33We'll keep you posted every step of the way about what happens with this vote.
23:37So the War Powers Resolution vote occurs first in the United States Senate, then it
23:44will take place in the House of Representatives.
23:48First, it takes place in the Senate on Wednesday.
23:51The vote in the House will take place on Thursday.
23:54And we'll keep you posted every step of the way of how Congress votes.
