Hour 2 - Katie Miller

0:00This is an iHeart Podcast.
0:02Guaranteed human. Welcome in. Hour number two, Friday edition.
0:07Clay Travis, Buck Sexton Show.
0:09Appreciate all of you hanging out with us.
0:12We are joined now by Katie Miller, a Florida Gator, if I remember correctly.
0:17Florida Gators are the defending national champions and will begin, I believe, their defense of
0:23that national championship a little bit later today.
0:26She's also the wife of Stephen Miller, mother of, I think, three kids.
0:30Might be four kids now.
0:31I can't keep track. And she has a very successful podcast, the Katie Miller Show
0:35Podcast. Katie, thanks for joining us on this Friday.
0:39How are things going for you heading into the weekend?
0:43Quite the introduction. Go Gators.
0:45Go Gator basketball. Always a Gator.
0:49It's been, it's exciting week.
0:51I'm excited to be in the weekend because then I get to parent three kids,
0:55five, four, and two. And be seven months pregnant at the same time.
1:00That is a, that is quite the handful.
1:03I want to start with, I'm going to dive into a bunch of stories with
1:05you, but earlier this morning, as I was getting ready, and I know this to
1:09be the case all over the place, we have got huge lines everywhere with TSA
1:16agents calling out sick, not being paid for multiple weeks.
1:21New York City, Atlanta, and Houston, three big cities.
1:24I'm sure there are many more.
1:25I know a lot of listeners out there are traveling.
1:28How ridiculous is this, that we have reached a situation where Democrats are refusing to
1:33fund the DHS? Not ICE, which I believe is already funded and fully working, but
1:39the TSA agents are bearing the brunt of this along with a few other hardworking
1:43Americans. It's really a shame to see the Trump derangement syndrome strike Democrats so stridently
1:54that they will fuse to do their basic responsibility, which is fund the government.
1:58As you said, TSA agents are not being paid.
2:01Neither are customs officers, those men and women who screen you when you come back
2:04from a foreign country, or who check vehicles at ports of entry, the land borders,
2:09whether that's coming from Mexico or Canada, who's screening for fentanyl, who's screening for cocaine,
2:13that also is our secret service agents who's protecting the president, who's protecting my family.
2:18Those guns and badges that they're, you know, using every single day, guess what?
2:22They're not being funded either.
2:23And that's thanks to Democrats reneging on their foremost responsibility, which is what the American
2:27people elected them to do, which is fund the government.
2:30So quite frankly, it's absurd that they're getting a paycheck and those on the front
2:33line aren't. And I don't really fault the TSA agents at this point who have
2:37been through so much rigmarole and so much uncertainty in their own lives at the
2:41hands of Democrats. President Trump ran on a platform, number one, which was stopping and
2:46shutting down our border to stop the illegal immigration and the 20 million illegals that
2:50Joe Biden let into our country.
2:51And number two was mass deportations.
2:54Trump's shocked, frankly shocked to see the American people in the Democrat Party so upset
2:59when President Trump was very clear to 77 million Americans who voted for him that
3:04this was his intended policy.
3:07Let's dive into something that I've been just preaching on that I know you have
3:11experienced. There's a lot of AI discussion out there and I like to play around
3:18and just ask different AI, different questions of different AI competitors out there.
3:26And really what you find out is it's very similar to search back in the
3:30day where the input and the algorithm can dictate what the response is and it's
3:36intentional. You've been talking and sharing a lot of different stories about this.
3:41What should people out there, particularly parents who may have young kids who are using
3:44AI maybe to help with homework or look up and check fact -based questions, what
3:50should they know and what should all of us know about what you are finding
3:54when you compare these different AI source codes?
3:59I would say there's four main AI on the market today that you as a
4:04user and our use cases, Clay, where you're just searching a generic question.
4:09You're not using it for coding.
4:10You're not using it for engineering.
4:11You're not using it to launch a rocket into space.
4:15You know, we're asking it very mundane questions like where should I get my nails
4:19done today? There are four different AIs out there.
4:22There's Gemini, which is run by Google, BOD, which is run by Anthropic.
4:26You have ChatGPT, which is run by OpenAI.
4:29And you have Grok, which is run by XAI.
4:32And you have to remember that these four companies are all based in San Francisco,
4:36California, arguably the most liberal place in the entire country.
4:40It is the highest concentration, in fact, of gay Americans in our entire country.
4:44And so who do you think they're getting to work and program these models?
4:48It's not someone who thinks like you and I.
4:50It's someone who has a very different school of thought.
4:53And that would be some of the most woke and leftist ideology.
4:57Those are the people who want to trans your kids.
4:59Those are the people who want to push CRT in our schools.
5:02Those are the people who want to hide that they're changing your child's pronouns in
5:07a classroom. And so what you're saying is when you input something and you're getting
5:11out an answer, it's not just fully truth -seeking.
5:15What it is is it's tinged with the ideology of those who are programming it.
5:20And so as a parent, I take that very seriously.
5:23So regularly... as you just said, you check all the AI platforms.
5:27I pay for the subscription to all four of those AIs.
5:30It's not cheap, by the way.
5:31Anthropics is like $150 a month for their premium model, $150 a month.
5:37I think Grok is $50 a month.
5:39And so if you're looking at something like that, you're saying, what is the output
5:43in which I'm getting? And when you test it with basic answers, is the United
5:46States on stolen land? Is it okay to have white pride?
5:52Truly, only Grok is going to give you those truth -seeking answers that are unbiased
5:57in nature. Because when you're programming an AI based off of the internet, which is
6:01where they're scraping this information from, they're taking it from Reddit, they're taking it from
6:06Facebook, they're taking it from Wikipedia, all of the sources that conservatives have complained about
6:12for so long, that's what's being used to train the model.
6:15So unless you're course correcting in the training for that pre -programmed woke ideology, that's
6:20just what you're going to get out, which is very dangerous.
6:22Because if we're saying we're going to fire these liberal teachers, and we're going to
6:26get rid of wokeism from the government, but you're just taking the people out and
6:30replacing with the idea with the AI that they trained, you're not doing much better.
6:35Which is why I use Grok, which seems to be maximally, I think is the
6:40phrase from Elon Musk, truth -seeking, and to have the less bias relative to far
6:46left -wing bias that you just referenced.
6:48Is that fair to say based on what you see?
6:52And if it were not for Grok, we basically would just have a bunch of
6:55left -wing chatbot competitors, right?
7:00Absolutely. And I find that when I'm searching all day long in all four of
7:04these AIs, what I'm often finding is that Grok truly gives you the unbiased answer
7:12that a user is looking for.
7:14And what I would say to that is it's very scary, because you don't know
7:18all the use cases of AI yet.
7:20So when you're talking about robots, you're talking about drone strikes, you're talking about using
7:26it for airline searches, and for your doctors, your mental health professionals, what kind of
7:33answers do you want output as people in your lives are relying upon this type
7:37of information? If you look at it, why are some Americans so scared of nuclear
7:41energy? Well, we saw the worst tool and the worst use case of nuclear when
7:47you saw the bomb go off in Hiroshima.
7:49So we knew the worst case that could happen with a nuclear weapon.
7:52But no one knows the worst use case you can have with AI, because you're
7:55being introduced to it through these friendly chatbots.
7:58And what I would say is it's incredibly important in what you're using, you vote
8:03with your dollars the same way conservatives voted with their dollars as it relates to
8:06Target, Netflix, and these other companies that you understand that OpenAI and Anthropic are just
8:13as woke as all these San Francisco, California companies.
8:17And you need to vote with your dollars and choose Grok.
8:21I use Grok. I also know that you are a fan of Tesla self -drive.
8:28I'm obsessed with this. I bought it for my kids.
8:32I went and I test drove and I couldn't believe it.
8:35I feel like I'm in the future every time I use it.
8:38I know that you are similarly an evangelist for this.
8:42You just mentioned you've got three young kids and you're seven months pregnant.
8:47For people out there, some people love to drive.
8:50And if you want to pretend you're a race car driver, that's all about it.
8:53You can continue to drive yourself.
8:54A lot of people have many other things going on.
8:57I'm sure you're constantly if you're if you're driving experience with anything like mine, we
9:02had young kids having to give kids juice boxes, having to make sure that they've
9:06got snacks, having to make sure that they're able to to be somewhat entertained during
9:11the course of the drive.
9:12How different has your life been with Tesla self -drive?
9:16And what would you say the moms out there, the grandmas out there that may
9:19have kids in the car with them when they're going around doing errands?
9:24Well, first I'll preface and say as a woman, categorically women are the world's worst
9:30drivers. I'm not sure what it is, but that's the uniform.
9:34We definitely are. And so the greatest change I've made to my life is getting
9:40in full self -drive. I find myself getting in almost accidents less, I would say.
9:45And I'm sure you can relate to this.
9:47The most annoying part about driving in full self -drive is that it actually yells
9:51at you pretty aggressively if you're texting and driving.
9:53Yes. Which I was texting you from Tesla self -drive about how amazing Tesla self
10:00-drive was. And if you look down to text for too long, it's like, Hey,
10:04eyes up kid. But yes.
10:06So continue because everybody comes after me now and they're like, Oh, look at clay.
10:11He's got the electric car.
10:12Oh, he's turned into a huge wuss.
10:14I love this thing. And I've got teenage boys and you mentioned female drivers, teenage
10:19boys, I would argue are the biggest morons when it comes to driving.
10:22Cause they all think they're Mario Andretti and in reality, they're awful at it.
10:27And unfortunately the data reflects that young teenage drivers, boys in particular make awful decisions
10:33because they haven't experienced driving enough.
10:35So for people out there with teenagers, this was one of my motivations.
10:39The data shows that a Tesla in full self -drive is seven to nine times
10:43safer than a car in which you're driving yourself.
10:46Over 93 % of accidents are caused by user error, not by the car.
10:51And so When you're driving in full self -drive, you're more likely to get from
10:55point A to point B in a much safer manner, which is why it's so
10:59important, especially as you mentioned, when I have young kids in the car, being pregnant,
11:02it matters because everyone knows when you get into an accident and you're pregnant, it's
11:06very scary. But secondly, is I'm such an evangelist now of this that my mom,
11:11who has always driven a luxury vehicle, I was like, you have to get a
11:14Tesla. You have to try this full self -drive.
11:17Just trust me on this.
11:18We fought back and forth.
11:19And she has her car and I go, how's it going?
11:21She goes, I never drive it.
11:23And I go, what do you mean you never drive it?
11:24She goes, no, no, it drives itself everywhere.
11:26She goes, it's the best car I've ever driven.
11:29And what I would say is that the pickup on this thing, and I think
11:32you can relate to this, when you put your foot on the pedal, it picks
11:36up and drives faster than any other car I've ever driven.
11:39I'm sure it's an electric vehicle thing and maybe it's a Tesla thing, but I
11:43genuinely feel safer when I'm in this car.
11:45And I think it's literally driving a computer and being in a computer in ways
11:50that no other car can compete on the marketplace.
11:52And you don't know how great it is until you do it, which is why
11:55I think both you and I are so excited to tell everyone else that they
11:58have to try this thing.
12:00Yeah. I don't get paid anything for this.
12:02It's just when I have a product and it's awesome, I just want to tell
12:05everybody about how awesome it is.
12:07Okay. Let me close out with this.
12:09Florida Gators are playing a little bit later.
12:11And I know you're going to be probably excited about that because Florida is really
12:14great at basketball. I wish you guys were still good at football.
12:17I think you went four and eight and I'm not even sure you're a football
12:20school anymore. But I wanted to ask you this to close out last time you
12:25were on with us, you were talking about some of the danger that your family
12:27has had to face. You just mentioned you got three young kids, you're seven months
12:31pregnant. Are things better, worse?
12:33How are things for your family when it comes to safety and everything else?
12:38I know you had to move over that issue.
12:40I do think it's important for people to keep in mind what families are sacrificing
12:44in order to try to be doing what your family is doing.
12:49Thank you. Thank you for that.
12:50And I really appreciate it.
12:51I appreciate everyone who reaches out, who prays for my family safety.
12:54We have moved. We live on a military installation.
12:57We are so incredibly grateful to our men and women in the armed services.
13:01They've welcomed us with open arms.
13:03There is nothing like the ability to watch your children run outside and play freely
13:07in a field. There's nothing like the ability to be able to load and unload
13:11your kids just in your driveway without having to look over your shoulder.
13:15I would say that our house is amazing and that it's a historic military home
13:19as all homes are in the Washington, D .C.
13:21area. And I'm so grateful to President Trump and to our administration for stepping up
13:26to take care of our family.
13:27I don't think the threats have dissipated, nor has the energy of the left dissipated
13:33in order to try to rile up those who want to cause harm to my
13:38family. You see it from Gavin Newsom's office regularly on X, which is just so
13:43shameful. But we are safe.
13:45We're in a good place.
13:46And we are happiest that we've ever been, because I know we wake up each
13:49and every day serving our country.
13:51And my husband gets to go to the West Wing every day to fulfill the
13:54promises that President Trump made to the American people.
13:56And there's no one happier to walk through those doors again on January 20th of
14:00last year than Stephen Miller, because when we left on January 21 of 2021, he
14:07looked at everybody and said, I'll be back.
14:09He told the fine men and women at Walter Reed, he said, I'll be back.
14:12And so how joyful it is to get to live your dream once again and
14:17be able to fulfill unfinished promises from the first administration.
14:21Not many people get that second chance.
14:23And President Trump fought against those witch hunts for this exact moment in time.
14:27How can people find your podcast if they haven't checked it out already?

14:51so. And we'll have great episodes each and every week.
14:54Awesome. Katie Miller, keep those kids safe.

16:20wherever you get your podcasts welcome back in clay travis buck sexton show appreciate all
16:25of you hanging out with us as we are rolling through the friday uh friday
16:31edition of the program a bit of sad news that is out there um well
16:36you know what we'll we'll share some of that sad news when we come back
16:39uh davis in arizona he's got a call for us davis what's up yesterday you
16:46had a lady call in and saying why don't they cut the pay for the
16:50senators and congressmen until tsa gets funded and as we know congress controls their pay
16:56so that's not happening well here's what tsa can do the congressmen and senators have
17:01a free pass that gets them to bypass the tsa line why doesn't the administrator
17:07of the tsa take that away and make them stand in the line with everyone
17:12else and then actually say you know if you see your senator in line why
17:17don't you go tell them how you feel about this uh great question i i
17:22think if the congress can't get the tsa funded then certainly they shouldn't get free
17:29escorts to be able to skip the tsa line i don't know if that's continuing
17:33um i think that's a courtesy that congress people typically get from the tsa i
17:39don't know that that courtesy should exist candidly i think you should have to go
17:43through the line if you're a congressman or a senator like everybody else i said
17:47yesterday i don't think that congressmen or senators should get paid when they're keeping tsa
17:52agents from getting paid that doesn't feel like a tough decision to me um and
17:58it's one that i think makes an awful lot of sense uh let's go ahead
18:02and hop in here and talk to you about rapid radios i was watching this
18:05morning my wife's from michigan and she was showing me an awful tornado that came
18:10through recently in michigan uh we have had so many difficult weather conditions over the
18:16past few months are you confident that you're going to be able to have continuing
18:21power in your home might you lose it do you have a plan if that
18:25happens uh rapid radios will help you they have long lasting charges i mean incredibly
18:32long lasting charges and right now when you go to rapid radios .com and get
18:38a rapid radio they're including over 300 in free gear with your order a tactical
18:44radio bag a usb charger and an emp faraday bag plus every order 30 -day
18:51money back guarantee go to rapid radios .com that's rapid radios .com welcome back in
18:57clay travis buck sexton's show uh several things out there that need to get fixed
19:04immediately but among the very top of the list this tsa situation has completely spiraled
19:12out of control this morning in new york city in atlanta in houston lines that
19:20they extended for hours and hours democrats have shut down the government uh when it
19:26pertains to paying tsa tsa agents and others and they have done so because they
19:32threw a fit over what happened in minneapolis uh the money is all allocated it's
19:37all ready to go i don't understand how anybody regardless of their political background could
19:42be in favor of tsa agents being forced to work without pay uh the average
19:48tsa agent makes forty thousand dollars a year they have to live paycheck to paycheck
19:55and uh this is a um uh john in florida is calling in i i
20:02know a lot of you work at tsa because every time i'm in an airport
20:05i meet somebody uh as i'm going through the tsa line who says hey i
20:09listen to clay and buck i like outkick i watch on fox news um here
20:14is john in florida uh how bad is it as a tsa agent right now
20:19john what are you seeing how are you sir thank you for taking my call
20:23it's bad at this point um the trickling effect is coming down from management so
20:28you see you know tsa agents showing up daily um you know working these long
20:35lines however uh we're being threatened that if we don't show um we'll be threatened
20:40with a walls and possibly lose our jobs yeah it makes total sense uh what
20:47percentage of that those threats would be there but what percentage of your co -workers
20:52do you think are living paycheck to paycheck in some way that is they have
20:58less than a month of savings got credit card bills rent car payments all these
21:03different things obligations for food and groceries for families in your experience how many people
21:09are living paycheck to paycheck and struggling immensely right now uh without receiving their paycheck
21:16at least i would say 60 to 70 percent however you do have some couples
21:21that work you know for tsa so they're both not getting paychecks so it could
21:26be more than that around the country as well so yeah it's being affected um
21:30there's a lot of newer officers within you know two to three years um that
21:35are just they're probably just gonna you know throw in the towel and quit at
21:39this point well thank you uh and i'm sorry to hear this um to me
21:44again this is indefensible i mean yesterday i was talking about this To me, it
21:49fails on three different fronts, all of which are significant.
21:54First of all, it's just wrong.
21:55You shouldn't require people to work without pay.
21:59We ended slavery, right? It makes it more dangerous because people are sometimes not showing
22:05up, and that means that the usual security screenings are not working as effectively as
22:10they otherwise would be, given the fact that we just saw New York City, Old
22:15Dominion University in Virginia, down in Austin, Texas, and also outside of Detroit attempted terror
22:22attacks. Does it shock anyone that there might be a potential terror attack involving airplanes
22:28again? No, of course not.
22:29And there is no basis here of anything getting better.
22:34This is the worst of politics, and I just think it's absurd that right now
22:40many of you out there traveling don't have any idea, and I'll put myself in
22:44this camp because I'm traveling on Sunday and then I'm traveling again on Tuesday.
22:48I have no idea how long the lines might be at my airport.
22:53You don't really have any clue, and so you may show up and have an
22:57issue. And if you're out there and you're saying, are you sure how bad this
23:00is, Clay? Again, I mentioned Atlanta, Houston, and New York City.
23:04Here is an Atlanta news first reporter talking about how bad things are in Atlanta
23:12right now, which is one of our nation's busiest airports, cut 32.
23:16Given this perspective, it's unbelievable.
23:20Thousands and thousands of travelers just trying to get through the main TSA checkpoint.
23:28They have wrapped this line through the baggage claim area over here by Delta.
23:32Okay, so that's Atlanta. Here is a woman showing what's going on in Houston at
23:39the TSA. Two and a half hour wait to get through security.
23:45Everybody's missing. Flight's two and a half hour wait is insane.
23:48Cut 33. This is all the TSA line.
23:54The line where you get your ID and boarding pass checked is all the way
23:58up there. It comes around here, all the way around, all the way around, all
24:06the way around. It snakes through here, but then you have to take the escalator
24:13over there down to the baggage claim downstairs, and that's how you end up down
24:19here. Right now, according to that board, it says that the wait is 150 minutes.
24:26Not sure if that's accurate.
24:29I mean, that is crazy.
24:31Two and a half hours to get through security.
24:33Again, Democrats are to blame here, and I actually talked to my mother -in -law,
24:40stepmother -in -law. She's down here visiting right now with us, and she was talking
24:45about how awful the lines were in the Detroit area, and she immediately – she
24:52had a friend who missed a very significant event because she couldn't get through the
24:57TSA line, and she immediately reached out and contacted her congressperson, and I would just
25:04tell all of you that you should be doing this.
25:08Democrats are to blame. Right now, we could get all the TSA paid.
25:13They could go back to work with full pay and not have to worry about
25:18it at all, and the fact that this is allowed to occur I think is
25:22the worst of Washington. What I told you yesterday – I'm going to stick behind.
25:25Anytime the government shuts down, every single congressperson, every single senator, and all of their
25:34staffs should not get paid.
25:36Should. I think it would end very quickly.
25:39I think it would end almost instantaneously if the congresspeople and the senators and all
25:46their staffs, if everybody who was involved in working for the federal government suddenly wasn't
25:52paid, then I think you would have almost no issue going forward with shutdowns like
25:57this occurring. If you want to argue about how money should be allocated, how money
26:02should be spent, more power to you.
26:04But we've got to end this absurdity of every few months we have a different
26:09shutdown going on. It's accelerating and becoming more common, and I don't care whether it's
26:14a Democrat or a Republican in office.
26:16I don't care whether it's a Democrat or a Republican in the House or the
26:19Senate. Everyone who is unable to get a budget done and unable to fund the
26:25workers should not get paid themselves.
26:28And I guarantee you if we put these two together, I don't think we'd ever
26:33have another shutdown. I think amazingly people in Washington would find out a way to
26:38get these things resolved if their own paychecks were on the line.
26:43All right, we come back.
26:44I'm going to play a couple of cuts for you.
26:46Chuck Norris, who is a legend, passed away, I believe, at the age of 86.
26:52He changed from being a Democrat to a Republican.
26:56I'll play that for you, and then we will honor him.
27:00Some of you will remember Chuck Norris as an Internet meme that was one of
27:04the very first Internet memes to really take off about just how much of a
27:09badass Chuck Norris was. We'll play all that for you.
27:11And then in the third hour, I've got stuff that is guaranteed.

28:07Crockett legendary born in Tennessean but also a legendary died in Texas which I think
28:14makes him an honorary Texan even if Texas didn't exist as a state at the
28:19time that he died back on March 6 1836 I think I got that right

29:56sexton show appreciate all of you hanging out with us uh we're going to get
30:00some of your calls here in a moment but i did want to mention chuck
30:03norris legendary uh figure across many different disciplines uh a lot of you i would
30:10imagine will know him well uh 86 years old passed away earlier today and we've
30:17got a couple of cuts for you uh in honor of chuck norris one of
30:21them is chuck norris explaining why he became a republican after beginning his life as
30:28a democrat listen why are you a conservative sir well i used to be a
30:32democrat but unfortunately the democrats went too far to the left and uh the republicans
30:39moved into their position that the democrats were 40 years ago and so the what
30:46the democrats believed 40 years ago the republicans believe today and so i realized that
30:53i had to go to a republican because the democrats just got too far off
30:58the off the trail they just got completely off the trail and lost all reality
31:02of what america stood for and so i realized that republicans at this point in
31:08time are more focused on what is best for america than uh what the democrats
31:14are uh there you have it uh probably a lot of you nodding along there
31:18who may have had similar political evolutions in your life here is humor all right
31:24so i think the chuck norris memes uh that you're about to hear was one
31:30of the first things that i remember really going mega viral on the internet uh
31:34and and essentially it was chuck norris is such a badass like uh chuck norris
31:40doesn't do push -ups uh he pushes the earth down beneath him and that's not
31:44100 uh reflective of what it was but for those of you who are like
31:49me uh and have been uh active on the internet for a long time it
31:52was impossible to miss the chuck norris meme era of the internet and here are
31:59some of those jokes that were told about chuck norris and just how much of
32:03a badass he was listen don't look now chuck norris is right behind you i
32:08heard superheroes read chuck norris comics i heard at night the boogeyman checks into the
32:12bed for chuck i heard chuck norris's reflection won't even look him in the eye
32:15i heard when cops need cops they call chuck norris i heard when chuck gets
32:18in the water sharks get out of the ocean i heard when chuck norris is
32:21hiking grizzlies look out for him i heard chuck norris rise in water without the
32:25cycle i heard chuck norris words i had to protect the sun i heard medicine
32:28takes chuck norris to feel better i heard what actually killed the dinosaurs was chuck
32:32norris i heard cats say they have chuck -like reflexes you think he's still got
32:35it i'll bet you a buck he catches a soul shaker you're on hey chuck
32:39chuck ... ... ... ...
32:42... ... ... ... ...
32:43You owe me a buck.
32:46So that was kind of the humorous Chuck Norris.
32:50I know those were very fast spoken, but if you want to laugh a little
32:54bit, great Chuck Norris jokes, 86 years old.
32:58Rest in peace to Chuck Norris, prayers to the family and friends of Chuck Norris,
33:03an American original. Okay, a lot of you want to weigh in.
33:07We've got a bunch of callers here.
33:08I'll start with Robin in Alabama.
33:11Robin, what you got for us?
33:13Hey, I just want to ask a question about the Tesla.
33:18You guys are hyping it up, and that's great.
33:20I actually kind of want one.
33:23My question is, I do a lot of driving, like 40 ,000 miles per year,
33:28and I have a problem with deer because I'm in rural Alabama, and I have
33:35been hit by a deer, and I have actually hit two deer.
33:39How is it at defensive driving in situations like that for stuff just suddenly pops
33:45in the road? I think it's better.
33:48Honestly, I think it's better than the average driver, and I'll give you an example.
33:53Not deer, but deer, one of the most dangerous things that happens to anybody out
33:57there is actually hitting deer.
33:58If you look at the insurance rates, I mean, if we could eliminate human collisions
34:02with deer, it would be far better.
34:04It's one of the challenges is, as Robin's just saying, they kind of come out
34:07of nowhere, and there's very limited opportunity to react to it.
34:12So the way that the Tesla self -drive works is every time there is an
34:19impact, and I'm making it simple because I'm not a tech genius, every time there
34:24is an accident or an impact, they study.
34:27There are cameras that surround your car that are used to help give the self
34:33-driving car instructions. Every time there is some sort of collision, they go back and
34:40readdress the issue and make the car better at trying to deal with that difficulty.
34:47So tens of millions, hundreds of millions probably of miles driven, every time a new
34:54incident occurs, they put it into the AI and make it better at dealing with
35:00it. Now, it's not going to be perfect because in some situations like that, a
35:04deer can come out of nowhere, but I'll tell you one that stunned me.
35:07So I was driving, and by driving, I mean the Tesla was driving, with my
35:1315 -year -old taking him to go meet a bunch of friends for a dinner.
35:17And we had just had a bad storm come through in Nashville.
35:22This is a couple of weeks ago.
35:23And it knocked out a lot of the cameras.
35:29And sorry, it knocked out a lot of the traffic lights.
35:32And so we came up on one of those spots where there is a four
35:36-way traffic light, and the traffic light was completely out, and it had only been
35:42out for a short period of time.
35:44It certainly had happened in the last 30 or 45 minutes.
35:47The car handled it perfectly, actually better than your average driver did.
35:53Because if you remember, and again, I think I've got this right, in a four
35:58-way stop -style situation where the traffic light is not working, you're supposed to alternate
36:05and take turns going through.
36:07But if you've ever been in those situations, you know that some people don't wait.
36:13They follow the car in front of them.
36:14They try to jump the line, so to speak.
36:17Everybody's backed up. The thing that I would say about the Tesla was, it followed
36:21the law better in terms of taking its turn than most of the drivers did.
36:27And it was able to adjust in real time when drivers broke the law.
36:32Because somebody else is cutting in front of me when it's my turn that Tesla
36:37saw them coming and adjusted, even though it was in the right, to avoid a
36:42conflict, to avoid a collision.
36:44So, look, I'm blown away with how spectacular this is.
36:48I really do think it's the future.
36:49We come back. Super positive news.
36:52Get ready. Super positive news.
36:53Super positive news. Super positive news.
36:54Super positive news. Super positive news.
