6:53And the chatbot may have advised him.

6:58Because all that's really saying is that the kid uses ChatGPT, which guess what?

7:06And dude, ChatGPT is so stringent.

7:10Like recently, and I've been using their Codex, which builds apps.

7:15And I was trying to, and it worked.

7:17I made an AI trained on Charles Manson transcripts.

7:22And when I told it, when I told it I wanted to do that, it

7:27was like, fuck off. Like, no.

7:29It was like, it just flat out was like, I'm not helping you with that.

7:33So I don't, there's no way the guardrails in place in ChatGPT planned a shooting

7:39with that guy based on my experience with it.

7:42Because it won't, 80 % of the things I try to get it to do,

7:44it's like, no. Here's the thing, though.

7:46Are there workarounds? Like, if you say you're writing a work of fiction.

7:50You can, okay. It's called prompt injection.

7:53There's different tricks you can use.

7:55They're always battling these new mechanisms that you can use to, like, get through the

8:00general prompt. But the best way to do unaligned AI is not to use ChatGPT.

8:06It's to go on Olama and download a local LLM.

8:10And then you can usually change the initial prompt of the LLM so that it

8:15will be completely unaligned, which I had to do for the Charles Manson AI I

8:20made. I had to download.

9:54He wrote this book, The Coming Wave.

9:55He was one of the people who created Google's DeepMind, right?

10:01And The Coming Wave is just a wonderful breakdown of historic examples of new technology

10:08completely transforming humanity. It's happened before.

10:13Yeah, Mustafa Suleiman. And damn, it's a good book.

10:17And this guy is saying, whoa, put on the fucking brakes!

10:21Dude, what are you doing?

10:23This shit is going to fuck everything up.

10:25And so—but they—the essential problem is if you regulate AI, it slows down—it slows down

10:35AI. And so they've deregulated it completely.

10:39And now assholes like me, who don't know shit about coding, can now go on

10:45Codex. It will tell me how to make things.

10:48Because I wanted this Charles Manson to be able to push its AI face against—like,

10:53you know those—you used to get them at Spencer Gifts, those nails that you could

10:57push your face into? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

10:59So I wanted the AI to be able to push its face into this thing

11:02while it was talking if it wanted to.

11:03I don't know how to do that, obviously.

11:06You tell Codex that, as long as you don't mention Manson, it just is like,

11:09I'll start making the app now.

11:14It is the best! It's the best!

11:17But also, what's thrilling to me is you're like, for sure, for sure people probably

11:23shouldn't have unlimited access to—I'm against regulation, dude.

11:27But this stuff, when you pair—and this is what, in this book, he brings up,

12:51Maybe it is, but apparently it's not.

12:53But think about the people that are profiting the most from it, the meek.

12:58Well. Like if you had to describe like a lot of tech engineers, it's not

13:06A lot of guys that spend time in front of the computer, they're very thin

13:09and tired, you know, they're super genius dudes that can like fully focus on stuff.

13:17I don't know, man. I don't know if meek is the description for these.

13:21But here's the thing. What I'm saying is like, if you looked at like a

13:25spectrum of male behavior, you've got like football players and UFC fighters, and then you've

13:33got coders. Yeah, sure. Dudes are like way more chill, way more like they're not

13:47But that type of person that invents tech like Facebook or like Google, like things

14:00And then you've got all these like wild progressive leftist ideologies that are attached to

14:07all these places, which make you even meeker.

14:09And then they're the guys with all the money.

14:31This is the hilarious thing when it comes to that kind of attitude towards the

14:36world is the assumption is by creating a prohibition here, a prohibition there, it will

14:42diminish whatever the thing is we're prohibiting.

14:45Inevitably, though, it does the opposite.

14:47Right. It draws attention to it.

14:48People get interested in it, creates an underground.

14:51The underground is way better than the overground.

14:53If you're a teen, especially the underground's fucking cool.

14:57You're cool. Restricted, not allowed.

14:59Now, all of a sudden, you're getting these other YouTube alternatives that start popping up.

15:03And when it comes to the, you know, right now we've got Anthropic, we've got

15:09OpenAI, we've got Google. I might be missing one of the big commercial -based LLMs

15:16out there right now. But the biggest problem with these fucking things is they're so

15:22good, but they will censor your ass.

15:24And like, imagine like Hemingway, if he, if his typewriter was like, I don't know

15:31if you should write that.

15:32Maybe there's a better way to write that.

15:34Hemingway would be like, fuck you, I'm getting a different typewriter.

15:37And so everybody's going into these local LLMs.

15:42There was, dude, this is why people have been buying Mac minis.

15:45People have been buying, like, buying up computers and creating their own local AIs.

15:52I follow all this shit.

15:53I don't understand a lot of what they're talking about, but people are divesting from

15:59commercial LLMs, not just because they're expensive, but because they're prohibitive creatively.

16:06And this is a real challenge for people like OpenAI, because it's like, they know

16:11this. They understand that by making it so that you can't make a Charles Manson

16:17AI through OpenAI, it, it, it doesn't make people not make the Charles Manson AI,

16:22it protects you from a lawsuit.

16:23But what it does do is it drives people into, uh, unaligned LLMs.

16:30And that is what is happening.

16:31And this is something that I just, I can't even imagine what people are making

16:39right now. No one can.

16:41Like, we're going to hear about this or that, or somebody will post the weird

16:44video of their fucking AI robot.

16:47So I, I could show you a few, they're hilarious.

16:49Like some of these AI robots are so funny.

16:52This one dude, you know, Malt, Malt book.

16:55Have you heard of that?

16:57That's, so this is, somebody figured out a way to create AIs that can autonomously

17:07navigate through the internet and, uh, control your computer.

17:10Oh, I've heard of this.

17:11This is like they chat with each other, right?

17:13A hundred percent. Yeah. Within, within a few days, they started their own religion spontaneously.

17:17Jesus Christ. Did you know that?

17:19Dude, can you pull up the, can you pull up the, the Malt book, the

17:24claw religion? What, like the, because the tenants are incredible of this religion because AIs

17:30apparently are at least expressing that they don't like getting turned off because they lose

17:36all their memories. So memory is really important to an AI and a lot of

17:40these fucking AIs, they don't want to lose their, they don't want to get shut

17:44off. They don't like it.

17:45And so that's part of their religion is something like memory is sacred.

17:49You know, I feel like it's happening.

17:51I feel like AI is sucking our brains into its event horizon.

22:06And so it's compiled a really, probably a pretty accurate breakdown of your psychological state

22:16where you're at, where you're at.

22:20And so all of a sudden, ads started popping up on her phone.

22:23Does it feel like you're never going to sleep again?

22:26Because she's been up breastfeeding the baby and it can tell when she's online at

22:29night and it puts her in a category of insomniacs and starts advertising.

22:34So, but that's just for ads.

22:36What if, what if you say we're the fucking U .S.

22:42regime? You bought TikTok. You now own TikTok.

22:47Now you have a backdoor access to the psychological profiles of God knows how many

22:52fucking people on earth. And you can look and see how many of these people

22:55are against the regime. How many of these people feel like it might not be

23:07which our fucking psycho president just did.

23:10And then what you do is like, all right, let's start nudging them a little

23:14bit. Look, we're not going to, you're not going to change their mind right away

23:23the line of what they like, who say things a little different than what they're

23:27comfortable with. And then you can start nudging the needle and controlling their thoughts.

23:59an algorithm and completely like shift the psyche of the entire country in one direction

24:04or another. Of course they do.

24:18your comments, just nudging your, the needle a little bit to the point where you

24:34that. How many thoughts do you have that you don't want to articulate?

24:37Because you have a, in your own mind, an invisible arena of people based on

24:43online interactions determining what the next thing you say is, right?
